That's because it is an old model, and that's what I figured happened. 980ti's are up for sale on Amazon for $900, doesn't mean they are selling for that much.

The 860 evo has better performance and higher TBW (TB writes) and is the current top tier for Samsung Sata drives.

For graphic cards, you can check Amazon Global.

Just select your country.
They handle both shipping and customs, and charge for it accordingly, but for the graphic cards, the cost of US purchase + shipping + customs is less than the cost of same card bought in India.

My friend purchased a GeForce GTX 980ti and saved about 10k INR.

Here is the cheapest 980ti I could find on Amazon.in. Costs INR 62,000.

In contrast, this 980ti on Amazon Global costs
>$619.99 + $124.34 Shipping & Import Fees Deposit to India

which according to current exchange rates, is only 49411.19 INR.

Difference of about 12k INR. Costlier than one bought in the US, but a lot cheaper than one bought in India.

You are eligible for warranty too.

Actually no! Yes technology does advance at a rapid rate, but you don't need the best and highest end to feel secure with what you have. You can still game on a PC, but sometimes it gets tempting to add better parts to it. Here is my build.

Motherboard

CPU

RAM

Hard Drive

Case

GPU

These are the basics of my build. There are other things in it, but aren't important as of right now. The GPU, RAM, Hard Drive, and Case are what remain from the original build. Everything else either broke or were given away since I upgraded. Right now I am working on my last upgrade before I refrain from putting more money into my PC. I say this because there is a limit to how powerful you can make a PC before your next upgrade gives you diminishing returns.

If you set a goal for your gaming PC to be 1080p with steady 60fps and good graphics, then there are great budget builds on PC Part Picker. Feel free to head over to /r/buildapc for any questions you would like answered in their FAQ, or even ask me!

OP, the SC 2.0 is at $619 Amazon.

Edit: With Backplate installed. It's cooler and you save a few bucks. Good luck, may your frames be high and your temps be low brother!

It's an EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti - I saw a lot of other people on forums had the same issue where the light was green on the Vive, but there was no sound or video. After fooling with it for around 5 hours the night before, I picked up an adapter the next day, and it worked without issue.

u/Pla5ma_bu77 · 1 pointr/Vive

I've had the HDMI cord jiggle loose during gameplay at the host end, which totally threw me for a loop at the time. I had unrelated issues getting the headset to display with my EVGA 980ti, that were only resolved by using a Displayport cable instead of HDMI, and sometimes by changing various other monitor connections. (GFX card model: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YDAYOK0). I've had transient issues with a second Windows user account that were fixed by restarting SteamVR or clicking "Restart Headset" within SteamVR.

If I had to throw a wild guess out there, I'd say your problem is within the headset hardware. According to the teardown on iFixit (https://www.ifixit.com/Teardown/HTC+Vive+Teardown/62213), the lenses for each eye are fed light by two separate screens that move independently, the width between them adjusted by the knob you were twisting when the problem occurred. These screens are fed data by thin, flexible ribbon cables that according to this picture (https://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/6SDaCEErErtvwqgi) appear to have a pressure-fit interconnect. It's possible that a defect in the ribbon cable or housing caused a disconnect or intermittent condition.

Got this far before realizing that u/KickyMcAssington beat me to the punch 4 hours ago. More beer!

I have the Asus ROG pg278q and a 980 ti.

I was considering selling these. No backlight bleed on the ROG, and the 980ti working well with no extra overclock.

While I love microcenter CPU/mobo sales and combos, I have to say I've been spoiled by Newegg and Amazon for having no tax in my state (MO).

Tax on this card alone for me is ~$65.

You can get it for $659 from both Amazon and Newegg. both which are tax free in most states and offer free shipping.

If you're asking for strictly graphics cards I would go with the minimum of a r9 290x or a [GTX 970] (http://www.amazon.com/EVGA-GeForce-Quieter-Graphics-04G-P4-2974-KR/dp/B00NVODXR4/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1449824615&sr=1-1&keywords=gtx+970) and these I would say can do 4k but won't be amazing at 4k. They will do amazing at max settings on WWE at 1080 60fps. Not entirely sure about 4k. What I have seen is people use the 980 in SLI for 4K and I'm positive you can do the same with the 290x or the 970 and get the job done as well. And I'm sure one of the GTX 980ti will do just fine. As for processors I myself have an i5-4690k and it gets the job done well. I would say go for an i5-4690k or higher and you can also search for the AMD equivalent as well. I don't have much experience with AMD so I wouldn't know what to recommend

EDIT: Here is a video showing the GTX 980 & i7-4790k running WWE 2K15 at 4K and 60 FPS

Really sorry I realized how i should put up some specs. Alright so I'm using 3 monitors. 2 of them are Acer G226HQL 21.5-Inch (1920x1080 they only have a dvi and a vga) and then one is Acer XB270HU 27-inch (2440x1440) and as for the wires I usually use 2 DVI-D one of which was plugged-in to the gpu and the other to the motherboard (Z77 EXTREME4) The 2440 monitor is plugged in with DisplayPort. However, I noticed that the Acer monitor plugged into the gpu was the only one running during boot-up so i thought to myself I will try using a HDMI to DVI and it didn't work but either way it works on windows. All running on a EVGA GeForce GTX 980 Ti.
Thank you for answering back.

u/TheDudeThatLurks · 1 pointr/buildapcforme

I wouldn't call $2200 a mid range build by any means. Unless the OP really wants watercooling on that 980 Ti, for large amounts of overclocking for example, it's really not needed. You can grab an air-cooled MSI or factory OC EVGA card, for around $70 cheaper.

The Maximus is overpriced, to put it absolutely bluntly, as with many other ROG boards. Although they do overclock better, they're a waste of money most of the time, money that could be put towards a better graphics card (or even two!), or a better CPU. In fact, the OP states that they do not want to overclock, so a locked i7 and H170 board would be more suitable here.

u/TheGasManic · 1 pointr/buildapc

That seems pretty solid. I would probably do this instead if it were me:

I just used PC partpicker for most of the parts, then edited the graphics card from amazon. It's more powerful in gaming, and if you're willing to overclock the CPU, straight up more powerful at everything.

(I spent way too much time doing this, I've got work tomorrow and it's almost 1am)

Notes: if you wait for Kogan to restock you can save $50 on the 6600k.

You don't need to worry about the gpu coming from the states, items under $1000 are not charged GST or import duties.

Thanks for the reply.
I've got the wrong 980 Ti listed.
It's actually the superclocked one.
The idea is to wait for the 1080 Ti and sell this card when it's out.
So, don't really mind saving on the extra budget for now.

Isn't the power supply on your list the same as mine?
Thought I already had the G2 Supernova.

This is what I went with.

u/suey22 · 1 pointr/nvidia

Was the ACX 3.0 that much? I thought the highest i saw was $679ish

Im thinking ill go with the superclocked 2.0 for just over $600 and pay the difference later on.

Being in Canada is a similar story, our shit dollar + high tax makes it impossible to buy anything high end.

Add on 13% tax to the Canadian version and youre looking at around $1000.

At least were close to the US and dont need to deal with import costs.

WTS: Used EVGA GTX 980ti SC 6GB, 3 months old.

Originally planned to use their step up service to upgrade to the 1080, but due to site issues it never went through and I missed the window. Paid $510 after small rebate (though the exact card seems to be going for much more now), looking for $425. Original packaging and cables intact. PM for offers/proof of purchase/etc.

as of right now i would like to try to keep them paired but would probrably consider splitting up soon

u/IvanKozlov · -1 pointsr/xboxone

Let me put it this way. The GPU is more powerful than this GPU. Even if you don't know what this GPU is, the price of this gpu should explain it all.

Thats a sweet deal, but I see they go for 400-450 on amazon and ebay. Naturally I'll sell it on ebay if I can get more for it than here, just giving everyone dibs on these first.
