It's incredibly hard to recommend a tablet, when you don't put a budget that you want to stay within without going over. But I've listed some stuff below that I personally thought was 'cheap' when google searching 'android gaming tablet 2019' and 'budget android gaming tablets'. I kept pricing under $300, hope that helps best of luck to you.

Dragon Touch K10 - $109 on Amazon right now, probably the cheapest tablet I've found again like most other Android tablets. I don't know how well it'll do for gaming. But you can search for reviews on YouTube about the device and come to a conclusion.

Fire HD 10 - $149.99 on Amazon, you can install the Google Play Store on it, if it's any good for running games that I don't know. But there are guides (you can google them) that tell you how to install the Google Play Store.

Lenovo Smart Tab M10 - $179.99 on Lenovo's website, again not sure how well it will do for gaming. But I'm sure if you search YouTube you will find reviews on the device, and can come to your own conclusion.

Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 - $219 on Amazon, don't know much about this tablet if it's good for gaming or not. But you can search YouTube for it. I'm sure you will find a few reviews on it.

Apple iPad 6th Gen (Latest Model) - Amazon has it on sale for $249, regular price is $329.99. Great device (I own one it runs games buttery smooth), will last you years definitely worth getting I'd even recommend getting the 128GB Storage Model if it's in your price range.

Feel like a broken record saying this, but the kindle fire hd is a great tablet for the price. Does not come with google play installed, but it's free and easy to install it and gain access to all your apps from both the amazon app store and google play store.

For the price, hard to beat. $150. Kid's version is currently on sale for $160 which includes the "2-year worry-free guarantee: if they break it, return it and we'll replace it for free. No questions asked." which is nice if you're getting this for a kid, or just clumsy. =)

I have an Amazon Fire 10 HD and I think its great for watching movies and reading books/comics. A 10.1" screen along with the price of $150 for the 32GB model makes it quite the bargain (IMO)

u/canyouhearme · 3 pointsr/Nexus7

Yep, last Oct. Same resolution as the N7 but with a bigger screen - still enough to be unable. 1.8Ghz quad core rather than the 1.3Ghz in the HD 8. Voice controlled Alexa as well.

What's your budget? I personally read on a Microsoft Surface 3, but that's just because I already owned one. I wouldn't spend that kind of money on a tablet just for reading.

Like /u/Djwyman said, fire tablets are inexpensive, but there are others with better screens. I'm a fan of the Galaxy series phones and tablets. I don't have much experience with iPads but they appear pretty nice, although more expensive.

If i were starting from scratch, I'd probably go with the Fire HD 10 as it's the largest screen of the Fire series. If budget allows, Id maybe recommend Galaxy Tab A 10.1.

I followed the steps described for "Option 1" in "How to Install the Google Play Store on the Amazon Fire Tablet or Fire HD 8". That article does include a paragraph "Update: We’ve had some readers mention that Option One isn’t working for them, although it’s still working for us. If you encounter trouble, you should be able to get it working with the ADB method in Option Two further down that uses a Windows PC to install the Play Store.". I don't remember if that update was already there when I did it. Maybe I was lucky, or maybe such troubles are rare, but I found it very easy to add the Google play store, and I have had absolutely zero issues installing any and all apps I've wanted, without doing anything techy like rooting, and I don't recall having any issues running them.

There is something I haven't been entirely sure about, and that is that at the time I installed the play store, there was a choice in the Fire settings as to whether to allow the store to update itself. I decided at the time not to allow that, based on the "if it ain't broke" idea that an update might screw it up. I don't know whether it makes any difference, and I haven't even looked at that permission page since then, but there have been no issues.

I see there is another article ["Amazon Fire Tablets: 4 Ways to Install Google Play Store Apps | Tech for Luddites"]
(https://techforluddites.com/amazon-fire-tablets-google-play-apps/) that goes over the same material.

I bought my Fire HD 10 tablet on Nov 27, 2017 for $99.99, the same price it's listed at today, and it was delivered in 7 days. I also bought the case and screen protector. The case isn't as stable as I wish it were as a stand. Basically, it falls over if you breathe on it. Within a couple weeks I paid Amazon the $15, if I remember correctly, to remove the ads wherever it was they were showing up, as they felt way too intrusive.

I love, luff my Fire tablet. Every time I pick it up, I get a boost, from what a great deal it was and what a fine little piece of machinery it is. The case gives it a good feel. The screen is sharp and bright, the colors look good to me (I'm not a color accuracy buff), it's fast enough, the sound is a lot better than my galaxy s7 phone. What's not to like?

FYI: I just got an email announcing the new Kindle Fire HD 10" for October 11 release:

More of a budget option but a Fire HD 10 is what I use. It runs for $150 now but is known to go on sale throughout the year for as low as $100-130.

Should be noted this device isn't preloaded with the play store but it can be added and doesn't require root access. It only takes around 10 minutes to get it loaded, if you understand how apks work.

Dragalia works for me with all the toggles set to max. Rarely experience lag.

NOTE: Fire HD 10 runs on Fire OS 5.6.4. This is the equivalent of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop. If your games requires an Android OS that is higher this tablet will return a parse error upon install. You can install a different OS but this requires extensive knowledge on Android.

Get yourself a Kindle Fire 10. It is a great tablet, and it is relatively cheap.

I was heavily considering getting the Fire HD 10 and installing the Google Play Store on it. The price is just unparallel, there quite literally does not exist another tablet with this kind of hardware with this kind of price. The Fire HD 10 also has an IPS 1080p screen. 225 PPI. As long as I can run Google Play alongside Amazon's shitty software I'm happy.

u/BrentRTaylor · 1 pointr/rpg

It depends. They still have their traditional Kindle lineup which are largely just e-readers. However, they also have their Kindle Fire lineup which are all actual android tablets.

This is the one I use and I love it. I got it specifically for running tabletop RPG's and reading PDF's. I play/run a lot of games and the PDF's are sooo much cheaper, even taking into account the cost of the tablet.

u/xabbott · 1 pointr/comicbooks

I just picked up a Fire HD 10 just for comics. It has comixology, you can sideload marvel unlimited, humble bundle, or anything else you need. It's cheap (150), high enough resolution (1900x1200), and supports sd card.

u/highorderdetonation · 1 pointr/tablets

The one relevant question is probably what your budget is, but discounting that and just going straight for "fairly cheap" the Fire series from all reports may be the best thing you can get for classicmememom in that category unless you find a really good deal on something like a Galaxy Tab A (which otherwise butts up against the Amazon Fire HD 10 price-wise). And if you're going to be the one setting it up, you'll probably be the one doing tech support for it--for better or worse--so you'll definitely want to set it up any way you see fit so she can have minimal issues with it.

PSA: If you were looking for the Kindle Fire HD10 on the Target Black Friday add for $100, its already $100 on Amazon. So it'll probably be cheaper on Thursday...

Edit: Also the Fire HD7 will be $30 at Target AND Amazon on thur/fri

u/kevprime · 1 pointr/EmulationOnAndroid

Wow, thanks for the quick response!! I'd mostly be playing RPGs on the PSP, so I imagine they would be okay.

The fire is this model, which I believe is the 17 version

Thanks again!

Any tablets you guys can recommend that have 16:9 ratios? The main ones people recommend like Fire Tablet 10 have Full HD 1080P advertised but also have 1920 x 1200 as their screen ratio, is it going to be the same with those?

Ah okay. 10.1" seems fair. The E seems iffy cause of the 1.5G RAM and at that size, I imagine the screen resolution wouldn't look that good. What about the Amazon Fire HD10?

Amazon Fire. You get the bonus of using Amazon coins which can save you an average of like 15% on all in game purchases. Cyber Monday deals in a month will probably let you get a 10 inch for like $100

Fire 10 inch regular $150

Fire 10 inch $120 refurbished

8 inch refurbished $65
