I'm pretty sure that there are thinner grips out there, something more similar to what's on a skateboard. This stuff is nice though, but it's like .6mm so it does slightly change the mouse feel.

I also hope the pain actually comes from gripping the mouse too hard and not the shape itself. Coming from ergonomic mice, I can’t help but notice the lack of a hump on the back for my palm to rest on.
