The V20 is one of the easiest phones to take apart in my opinion. Here is a video showing the tear down process - you only need to follow it until 1:22 to replace the thermal paste.

Replacing the paste itself is easy, just clean off all the pink stuff you see with cotton swabs and isopropyl alcohol and add new paste and reassemble. I used a thermal pad instead of paste and it took about 20 minutes in total and I was being really careful. Just make sure that when removing the top / bottom bumpers and the main board you take extra precautions not to damage anything (especially those pesky antennas) and you should be fine!

Here is a link to the thermal pad I used. It runs abour $20 and has a rating of 17.0 W/mk. As an alternative, there is a 11.0 W/mk rated pad by the same company for only $12. Just make sure which ever one you get is 1mm thickness and you should be set!

Fujipoly's 1.0mm and 0.5mm pads.

TMPOOOOOOO shows in another /r/Alienware post that this is where you want to put them.

I’m not sure how much these helped since they are all on the GPU side, but they can’t hurt. These cost a lot of $$$ so make sure you don’t buy more than you need. In total you’ll need:
0.5mm = blue O in the pic and
1mm = red X in the pic
My replacement strip for the blue O on the yellowish stock one is wider than stock at 10mm (same as others). It works fine and covers more components.
I didn’t change the white tape thingy on the CPU side because that’s too thin and I didn’t prepare any.

Edit: The pads I listed are slightly wider than what TMPOOOOOOO uses, but with an X-Acto knife or scissors you should be able to cut that stuff no problem. Note, that I haven't done this myself, just relaying a message I saw.

If your console is dust-free but still loud you might want to consider changing out your thermal pads and paste. I used these Fujipoly Ultra Extreme thermal pads along with IC Diamond thermal paste in my PS4 Pro (CUH-7015B) and it made a big improvement.

Don't run furmark on Hawaii. Unigine is a good estimate of max temps.

Replacing your vrm padding can help.
