It works fine. Doesn't feel too flimsy.
However, DS4 + clip + iPhone is kinda heavy in the hand. I really start feeling it in my wrists after 30 minutes. I don't really recommend this setup.

They do, there are companies that make phone holders that clip onto the controller.
For Example
I use this one and find it to be solid build quality. The people complaining in the comments didn't try hard enough to clip it as I had no problem with either gen 1/2 DS4 controllers.
Go find a PlayStation 1 emulator and get the ROM for it. Been doing that for years. Plug in a PS4 controller with an OTG cable and something like this to hold your phone while you hold the controller and you're good to go.
What I would like is them to release the D1 PSX digitally in the PSN tore, but it looks like that was published by EA at the time, so they likely own the distribution rights to it so it would have to be some odd agreement for them to release it digitally. Then I could just play it natively on my Vita and Vita TV.

I'm using this one and its great. Holds my iPhone 7+ steady and the grip can be angled back and forth so you can find a comfortable spot for it. Its VERY difficult to get on and off the controller, though. Really a tight fit, but its fine.

Yeah, but when a family member is using the TV my PC is connected to, I stream to my laptop or even phone to play. I got one of these PS4 phone mounts to use when I'm streaming to my phone, works nicely.
Is this for a phone? If so, have a PS4 or Xbox One controller? Just get a phone clip. I don't use my PS4 controller via Bluetooth, so I can't attest to that, but my X1 controller is just perfect. Especially now that I got a phone clip for it. My Note 10+ fits perfectly.

Hey no worries, I haven't tried the DS4 with Android too much so I'm not sure. I just use the Xbox One controller at home or my little IPEGA Red Knight when on the go.
