Please don't misunderstand me, just because I did so in my house doesn't mean it's right, it is still a code violation to not have it on it's own breaker. If you get an inspection for any reason and they learn of this, you are not in compliance with NEC (or any local codes that may apply).
I'm fully aware this is a "do as I say and not as I do situation", but I can't in good conscience tell you to do something that is against code.
All that aside, if it were my house I'd probably do exactly what you're proposing doing, and take the slap on the wrist/fine/violation down the road if it came to that.

Not sure where you saw that info as I can't find it listed in the manual on their site. If that actually is the correct part number I found this cord and this cord. You should be able to use any appliance cord that is the correct gauge, but I recommend you give Broan/Nutone a call and ask them directly to make sure you get a compatible part.
