The free/BotA bridge doesn't have a dedicated bike lane inside the port of entry but you still roll past ped traffic. I have crossed to CJ on stanton but came back another way so I don't know about that. Never been on the Ysleta/Zaragoza bridge.
I use a normal post-pencap-debacle kryponite lock (mine came with mounting bracket); locals seem to prefer plain chains + padlock, but that would chew up your paint. I leave a battery pack in the bag when I am exploring and no one has ever messed with it. And I've never seen anyone eyeing any bike anywhere in the areas I've explored.
