I've been using this to use cube controllers on PC for years (well, and other stuff). Would this be better somehow?

Or is the interest in the idea that you could more easily do 4 players in Dolphin than buying two of those other GCN-PC adapters that has two ports?

The Wii U adapters specifically seem super over-priced at the moment.

I like authenticity, I know this problem all to well while playing console games at 1080p at 60 fps.

You can use this or this.

Hi! I was recommended this converter a while ago in this same subreddit. They recommended me this one MAYFLASH 3 in 1 Magic Joy Box For Pc https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000ND3XXA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. It works phenomenally!
I played them on my standard dance mats then upgraded to a Cobalt Flux Residential version and of course works great!

Did a bit of looking around, looks like someone who got it working used this to make it work

I’m using two of these to connect to my PC to play DDR (Stepmania actually).

Plug-n-play, no extra driver needed to install on Windows 10. Just need to bind buttons in the config of the game.

This works great for me and has options for Xbox/PS/GC inputs (using PS for both my pads).

From what I understand, this adapter should work on mac

u/myusernamesaretaken · 2 pointsr/emulation

I have one that does it. It has analogs for both joysticks and the shoulder buttons, and also a digital for the click at the end of the shoulder buttons. It's here. Although, you may run into problems with the left stick not registering you pushing it all the way even though you are, like it has a reduced range. I fix this with a script in GlovePIE and a virtual joystick using PPJoy. (It could be a little complicated for someone who doesn't know programming.)

For Mac, I use the 3 in 1 Magic Joy Box. It sounds sketchy, and it says it has no support for Mac, but it works totally fine. The only downside is that it only has one port for Gamecube controllers. This adapter seems to actually only work on Windows, but it has 2 ports for controllers.

  1. Downloaded ppsspp
  2. Obtained a BBSFM .iso file.
  3. Bought an adapter such as this one on amazon (note it only works for ps2, xbox, and GC controllers but im sure there's a ps3 one out there somewhere).
  4. Loaded up the iso with the emulator, set the graphics to 5x native and 3x resolution so I could play in HD.
  5. Most enjoyable BBS run to date! Made critical mode so much easier with the controller.

As an alternative to /u/DolphinUser's suggestion there's also this

Type of Bug: Game force closes at launch

Description: The Easy Anti Cheat says "INTEGRITY VIOLATION" when the game launches. File path c:\Windows\System32\ffdrv1.dll

Steps to reproduce: Simply launching the game

Result: Cannot launch or play the game

Expected result: Enter the main menu and able to play the game

Reproduction rate: 10/10

Edit: I figured out what it is. It is a driver for this controller adapter.

I've got one of

http://www.amazon.com/Gamecube-XBox-Controller-Adapter--favorite-PC/dp/B000ND3XXA/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1372451147&sr=8-2&keywords=gamecube+usb

These.

Not really any problems I've been able to spot.

Also, if you could let me know how those work I'd be grate ful

u/BadSoles · 2 pointsr/SSBPM

That's the one that I'm refering to, yes. This other one has compatibility issues with more recent OSes.

Also, tons of folks have vouched for the one you linked working well/reliably for longer than I've had it.

Less than $6 shipped for a PSOne/PS2 to USB adapter is pretty cheap, in my opinion (And in my experience, this allows a PS2 controller to be used on a PS3 natively). $15 shipped for a combination PSOne/PS2, first-gen Xbox, and Gamecube all-in-one adapter seems pretty cheap, too.

But you also can't use your PSOne or PS2 controller on a PS3 or PS4 (without adapter above). Nor can you use a Dualshock 3 with the PS4. (Source)

And you can't use your Xbox or Xbox 360 controller with your Xbox One. (Source)

While PS3 and PS4 controllers both work either wired or via standard Bluetooth on both PCs and mobile devices usually with minimal effort; and XBox 360/One controllers work natively with Windows (not surprising as Microsoft manufactures them).

u/OldSkooRebel · 2 pointsr/pcmasterrace

On PC I can use an Atari 2600, NES, Genesis, SNES, N64, PS1/PS2, Gamecube, XBox, PS3 (with bluetooth), Xbox 360, Wii (with blutooth), XBone (Micro USB), PS4 (Bluetooth) and Wii U Controllers as well as the the countless other 3rd party controllers.

On Xbox 360 I can can use an Xbox 360 controller.

I just want to follow up and say that this item worked out of the box with the Cobalt Flux pad. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000ND3XXA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I personally use the Mayflash 3-in-1 Adapter for PC and it has worked flawlessly for me so far. I didn't need to use another program to map the steps for whatever reason. If you plan to get this one, make sure to read the instructions provided since I believe there's a certain order of what to plug in first.

I have a wii CyberBike http://www.amazon.com/Fillpoint-VG-273200-Cyberbike-Magnetic/dp/B0058CSF8E and with a USB adapter http://www.amazon.com/Gamecube-XBox-Controller-Adapter--favorite-PC/dp/B000ND3XXA/ it functions quite well as a pedalling and steering device in PC games. That's if you want to cycle in VR though...
For walking in VR I have been pondering on a cheap solution which has the camera on the ceiling for a cheap yet effective positional (and orientation) tracking...

u/Tbiggs0958 · 1 pointr/Gamecube

The official GCN controller is much better quality. Just get yourself and adapter like this one!

u/mrpopsicleman · 1 pointr/snes

I've been using a Super SmartJoy for years with no problems. And while I don't have the adapter you linked to, I have the Mayflash GC/PS1/PS2/Xbox to USB adapter and it works great.

u/shadow1515 · 1 pointr/truegaming

I found it at Wal-Mart for $10 like 10 years ago. I can't find the exact same one online, but it's basically the same as this, which has good reviews.

I've used these before and it was always just plug and play https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B000ND3XXA

So there's two options i suggest

If you want to connect two players for cheap you can get the hde ps2 adapter HOWEVER you will have to follow a guide and have a seperate program running to make sure the game recognizes the pads as buttons and not analog sticks which can't go two directions at once.

Your other option is buying two of these which pretty much work straight out of the box and can be used for other stuff if you want to.

I've owned both now, i bought the HDE adapter then bought two mayflash since I made a linux Openitg machine and couldn't get the fix working on it. I do suggest the mayflash adapters just because they pretty much have an automatic dance pad mode which recognized the inputs as buttons instead of analog sticks and you don't have any other programs running

but hell if you want to pay for postage i can just send you the HDE adapter at this point since I don't really need it anymore.

You can grab this: http://www.amazon.com/Gamecube-XBox-Controller-Adapter--favorite-PC/dp/B000ND3XXA

Any USB HID compliant device will work, but you'll probably need to create your own customer controller.ini. There's a program called HID-Test that will give you your values for each controller.

u/cabbiethefirst · 1 pointr/SSBPM

this mayflash adapter is pretty solid in my experience:
http://www.amazon.com/Gamecube-XBox-Controller-Adapter--favorite-PC/dp/B000ND3XXA/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1394308349&sr=8-3&keywords=3+in1+adapter

it has an xbox and playstation adapter as well if you would perhaps use those.

u/capn_slendy · 1 pointr/gamingsuggestions

If you already have an xbox, ps2/1, or gamecube controller
http://www.amazon.com/Gamecube-XBox-Controller-Adapter-favorite-PC/dp/B000ND3XXA

This will let you use any of those. Great for all kinds of emulators.
