not that poster but if you're concerned get some kind of bar soap with salicylic acid in it and don't know about medicine but if you get GOOD virgin/extra virgin coconut oil it also helps.

Source: I have/had shoulder acne.

Coconut oil is much better.

I don't know if you're referring to just the face or to the body or both (I've had laser everywhere - 40+ hours, and some electro... I hate body/face hair).

So... body lotion first. I always put this on after shower/bath because soap dries out the skin. Science makes it awesome. I've had numerous guys tell me I have the softest skin they're ever touched - and it's almost all because of this lotion.

  • For the body I use this every day: http://www.amazon.com/Peter-Thomas-Roth-Mega-Rich-Lotion/dp/B005WKJB6C/
  • About once a week I use Extra Virgin Organic Coconut Oil, applied all over the body while in the shower and massaged in, then rinsed off so the oil won't be all messy post-shower. If you have any skin issues (acne, etc) on the body... don't use it... otherwise it's remarkably good for the skin and a lot of people swear by it. Lot of options for brands here, this is just an example: http://www.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Organic-Coconut-32-Ounce/dp/B003OGKCDC/

Face lotion, these work well with makeup or on their own. Apply and let dry before putting on makeup. I'm including several options because there's a lot of great choices out there, and these are my favorites. The ones that have SPF are very important for wearing post-laser if you're going to be outside (even if it's overcast). Lasered and electro'd skin must to be protected from UV damage or you can have pigmentation issues.

  • Peter Thomas Roth SPF30 face lotion: http://www.amazon.com/Peter-Thomas-Roth-Moisture-Defense/dp/B000TQHTPE/
  • Neutrogena SPF30 wrinkle repair lotion with retinol-a: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004D2C57M
  • La Mer ... mmmm this is really nice. All of the rich girls I was friends with before transition swore by this. I like it but I don't think the cost is justified, still awesome lotion though: http://www.amazon.com/Mer-Moisturizing-0-24oz-Promotional-Travel/dp/B00AATSD8W/
  • Shiseido Pureness Matifying Moisturizer Oil-free Moisturizer: http://www.amazon.com/Shiseido-Pureness-Matifying-Moisturizer-Oil-free/dp/B001B1U0AW/
  • Origins has lots of options and I've always loved their stuff: http://www.origins.com/products/15352/skincare/moisturize/moisturizers

Lots of other ones out there depending on price point. Some people need different ones for oily/not-oily/dry skin/etc so there's usually a bit of experimenting to be done before you find the perfect one for your needs. You can go to Sephora and get free samples of a lot of lotions, try them for a couple of days and then buy whichever you like most.

Keep in mind that face lotion is usually different than body lotion - you never want to put an oil based or silicone based lotion on your face or you may clog pores - which is especially bad for post-laser. Make sure the one going on your face is specifically for the face. Two days before laser I always use an exfoliator on the laser area, and 3 days after laser I do that again - it clears the pores out and helps with the healing process. Now that I'm done with laser I exfoliate about 1-2x/week.

I've found this coconut oil on Amazon and it seems to be working fine for me and only lists coconut oil in the ingredients: http://smile.amazon.com/Natures-Way-Organic-Coconut-32-Ounce/dp/B003OGKCDC/ref=sr_1_2?s=grocery&ie=UTF8&qid=1422465684&sr=1-2&keywords=coconut+oil

**bonus, it is much more cost effective than buying at stores.

I'll agree with the heavy cream. Around here it's ~$4-$5 per quart. However, 32 oz of coconut oil costs $16, which is about what 3 pounds of stew meat costs in my area. 32 oz of coconut oil will last me around a month if I use 2 tbsp per day. With three pounds of stew meat, I can make a large pot of stew that will last me about two weeks.

On top of that, if the price drops down for a sale, I can stock up on coconut oil since it's almost nonperishable. The same can't be said for meat.

Hi there!

I just wanted to let you know that Automod has removed your comment because it contains an Amazon referral link, which we don't allow in the sub.

Could you please edit the URL so that everything from (and including) "tag=" is removed? That way, the product page will still be visible - but no one can make a profit from the link.

Alternatively, copy this link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003OGKCDC/

If you've done that, please reply to this message so I can approve your comment. Thank you!

I grabbed one with good reviews from amazon. I couldn't tell you whether or not it will be good for oily skin. I get dry skin sometimes, so it works well for me. Look into argan oil. That's good for all types of skin apparently. I use that for my face and hair as well.

-Vegan diet: no dairy, no eggs, no meat, no seafood. This helped the most and took a few months to notice new growth.

-Supplement B-Complex, biotin, and MSM. Not sure if the biotin and MSM are actually doing anything but they're cheap (I buy at Trader Joe's) and my hair is growing well so why not.

-Coconut oil and jojoba oil hair mask x2-3 hours, once a week. I take several scoops of coconut oil and rub quickly to warm to a liquid in my hands (you can also microwave until soft) and add some jojoba oil to the ends. Wrap hair in a plastic shower cap and leave on for a few hours. Rinse with a gentle shampoo free of sulfates. Again, I like the shampoos at Trader Joe's or Pureology. This keeps my hair hydrated and healthy-looking and prevents that dry-frizz I get.

-No regular heat styling. I let my hair air dry in the evening and flat iron it no more than 2x month for special occasions.

-No coloring.

-Treatment for any OTHER concurring medical issues in addition to treatment for your PCOS (I take synthroid for hypothyroidism).

Good luck and happy hair-growing!

This one should do. It is a bit pricey but it lasts long. For me it lasted about 3 months, and I use to use it for my hair every 2 days which I would imagine uses much more than eye brows. It'll last you a long time basically. When you want to use it, heat it up, apply it and let it sit there for about an hour. After that just wash it off. You can use it for your hair too.

Up until just last week I was an oil only SE shaver for years. I used EV Olive or Coconut oil and water to shave.

When my ex got DSC I tried their Pre-shave oil and other than the scent, it functioned exactly the same as I was always used to and I get my scents from my EdPs anyway.
I'll never spend $10+ on a few ml of "Pre-shave" oil.
It's just fleecing the flock imo. I'd stick to EV olive or coconut oil (I use this) .

For the small amount of time it's on your skin and since you're shaving directly after, springing for an oil that's a fusion of 30 different varieties and a multivitamin is just a waste imo.

For Pre-shave before I started DE and now, I just to scape a bit with the back of my nail and cover my face with it.
It's a really small amount, just enough to coat the hands. Then I drape a hot towel over my face until the heat's gone.
Before, when I was oil only, I'd add just a bit more oil and then just flick a bit water on my face and keep the razor wet as I shaved. Now I just lather after the towel.

If I'm taking a shower instead, I'll work the oil on first and then shower. I massage the face clean in the shower but I don't use soap (I'm gonna shave after anyway)

Don't use a lot, it just affects the lather and makes a mess.
Just enough to coat everything. You can work in a smaller amount of oil if you use water to help. Your face shouldn't be dripping in oil or even look all the oiled up looking in the mirror head on.
