I price match Amazon's price of the 1TB 860 Evo M.2 to get that same price on B&H's 1TB 860 Evo M.2 to avoid paying the sales tax that I would with Amazon.
It would come out to $138.55 on Amazon after taxes for me in California, and with B&H it's just $127.99 so it saves me $10.56.
It's a dell inspiron. I got it specifically for its expandability because I already had an M.2 and ram that would fit it from a couple of older computers. As much as I wanted to grab a fancy razer or other "top tier" laptop, I couldn't justify the price. Another factor that drove me to this "type" of laptop was its build quality. I needed something that would be more durable than my previous laptops. I find myself being overly cautious with my electronics and even then sometimes they just don't stand the test of time. This laptop, however, I have zero complaints about. It's actually my most favorite laptop I've purchased, and it's not even remotely close to the most expensive. Disclaimer, I don't know how it performs without the M.2 or extra RAM since I installed them immediately, but I expect this laptop to last me for a while. Here's links to the laptop and M.2.

You should still narrow down to M.2 NVMe or M.2 Sata. The M.2 NVMe is a bit faster and would be preferred. Google your laptop brand to be sure or make sure you can return otherwise. Once you have the new drive the tool Macrium Reflect is pretty good for duplicating your old drive on the new SSD drive. As far as choice:

It will work. It's not an exceptional deal. The 860 evo is slightly better and slightly cheaper. Just splitting hairs though. Both are lovely.

By fit you mean work? That's a 2.5" drive which works with anything that has a SATA port. If you don't want cables then the M.2 equivalent will also work with your motherboard.

As someone already said, you don't need that psu. It's overkill.
Here's your build and you are only using 289W. You would be completely fine with a 600W PSU and it can save you a few bucks. Rule of thumb: Take your wattage, double it. That's the PSU you need.
If you still want to put that money towards something, put it towards an M.2 SSD.

This is the wrong take, OP didn't ask for best bang for the buck PC, he asked for the best PC.
Cooler: Air is usually cooler and quieter than AIOs, in your machine you want the noctua nh-d15 though.
Your memory is not the best it can be for Ryzen (you want 3200c14 or 3600c16). Remember you have 4 DIMM slots, you can go 4x8 if you want, but I don't think they are cheaper than the 2x16 kits.

Storage: Don't put mechanical in this build for the love of god. Your "boot drive" is fine w/ the 860 evo, consider the m.2 version for slight (and I mean slight) performance gains and less wires:

For your "data drive", get a 2tb mx500, If you buy a mechanical drive for this build you will be banned :).
The video card situation is a weird one right now. nVidia keeps the good bins of their cards and sells the rest to AIBs. If you want the best 2080ti, you want the founders edition
But nVidia has probably the worst customer service, and 3rd party cards offer better cooling. It's a decision that's up to you. I personally went with a Founders Edition card for my build (2080 Super though).

Hello Everyone,
Has anyone experienced constant game crashes on their machine? Any sort of game that I play, at a certain point, whether it be 5 mins of playing or 1 hour of play, the game would freeze or crash. For example, I was playing Destiny 2 on my machine and after playing for about 30 mins, the game would crash with an error saying that my GPU crashed. The error code was Broccoli. I looked this error code up and the suggestions were to update my driver which was already done with the latest one.
On other games, like CS GO, Witcher 3, Civilization 6 (this was a shocker) and League of Legends (also shocker) the screen would freeze but the sound would still be playing. I can hear the game progressing but the application is frozen. the only way to get out of this is to bring up the task manager and kill the game which is not what i want to do in a intense situation in a MMO type of game...

I have read numerous articles on why the screen freezes and the sound keeps on playing and I have tried their recommendations. None have worked. I have replaced the Graphics card twice through amazon because the Driver test failed on me. The one that I have now didn't fail so I kept it. Below are the things that I have tried:

This is really shocking to me. 3 months is basically nothing for the amount that I have invested on this machine and all the things that I expect to run on it are crashing, absolutely unplayable. I did a similar thing with my old Gateway PC over the winter and I replaced the the stock hard disk after almost 9 years with a 2.5 inch 480 GB SATA SSD and it's been running like a new machine ever since. I also have a 4 TB HDD, the stock 1 TB HDD, and my old portable 1 TB HDD inside my old PC now totaling 4 internal drives with almost 6.5 TB of storage space between them and almost half the space is actually full.
I can help you with finding an SSD as I do have some experience with that. But you will have to ask someone else for help with finding a specailty application to transfer data between drives as What I did was installed a 4 TB HDD then transferred all important information to the HDD, switched my main boot drive from the stock HDD to a SATA SSD, did a clean install of the OS onto the SSD, then transferred files back from my 4 TB HDD to my SSD. To format my SATA SSD, I used the disk-utility built-into Windows to format the SSD as NTFS and then went through the Windows installation using my OEM license and product key.
What I found is that M.2 related to the form factor of the drive rather than how the drive IO pins are arranged. There are two types of M.2 SSD: (1) SATA SSD and (2) NVME SSD, the differences between SATA and NVME drives are shown in this article from Online Tech Tips. Below are links to 6 M.2 form factor SSDs, four are from Samsung and two are from Crucial and four of the six are MVME type SSDs.

Here is a link the Micro Center online store with 5 SSDs that also fit your description for what you wan to use to replace your C: drive. I don't know what brand of M.2 SSD is more reliable than the others so you will have to ask someone else about that.
Also, of you are running Windows, you can use the disk utility to first format your new SSD as NTFS then put Windows on it using the windows license and product key that came with your computer. If you built your computer yourself, then you will need to transfer over the Windows listens from your current drive to your new drive assuming the license you bought is a transferable license.
If you are planning on putting Linux onto your main drive, you can format the drive using any old PC to the file system of your choosing for Linux and then install any distribution you like to flash onto the drive using a bootable USB or bootable DVD.
I don't know what format Mac OS X requires so I am of no use to you in regards to that aspect.

Performance is better - but for most peoples use cases barely noticable, meanwhile the price difference is huge.
That said, I agree with your sentiment about a SATA M.2 drive. You can get a SATA M.2 Drive for basically the same price as a 2.5" SSD these days which performs identically with - effectively - zero foot print.
the Big Shuriken doesn't have an AM4 Bracket afaik, which is the only issue with using it for his build.
The m.2 slot has a SATA 3 interface.
Generally speaking Samsung 860 EVO is considered the best (and usually most expensive); solid performance and many consider their cloning software is basically bulletproof.
WD Blue SSDs are less expensive than Samsung, and also delivers solid performance. They provide 3rd party cloning software; I think Acronis; which does a fine job at cloning, but not considered "bulletproof" like Samsung's software. The same can also be said of Crucial MX500 SSD.

Cloning the HDD to a SSD is great especially if you simply want an exact duplicate of what is on the HDD so that you do not have to reinstall everything. However, based on my own personal experience, I prefer to do a clean install of Windows to get rid of unwanted "junk" that may be left over from many previous Windows 10 Updates which Windows itself did not delete when using the "Clean up system files" option in Disk Cleanup.

I own an Acer E 15 - something or the other, and I'd be willing to bet that it's got the same lay out on the inside. Let's assume that the laptops are the same, at least as far as SSD / HDD layout is concerned....
I happen to have a parts laptop lying around. So if your laptop looks like this on the inside, it's probably safe to assume that they are basically the same. This is a small, two picture album that I took. One picture is relatively far away, with the back cover of the laptop taken off. The second picture is closer up, at an angle. You're looking at where the RAM installs, though there is no RAM installed in the laptop.
In the upper lefthand corner of the zoomed in picture, you'll see a connector hidden in the back. That is where an M.2 SSD slides in. Note how there is only one key instead of two. The key is just the piece of plastic that blocks certain items from sliding in.
I don't know the differences between they keys and the protocols, however it should be noted that while you can (most likely) fit an m.2 SSD like this one into the slot, you probably should avoid it, since it's clearly keyed for something with two keys, not one. You should get something like this, clearly keyed for the slot. Note that my links are simply given for picture reference, shop around for the right price and/or size you want. I recommend at least a 250 GB SSD, preferably closer to 500 if you can afford it.

P.s. The laptop has a HDD bay, as seen on the left of the zoomed out picture. That's where your HDD is located. When you open yours up, I'm sure you'll see an m.2 SSD already installed your machine. There's the one screw that holds it in place.
Also, was your laptop new or used? I had to install the SSD into mine myself. If it's used, you'll need to see which drive your OS is installed on. Simple really, remove one drive, try to boot. If you can't boot, then your OS is installed on the removed drive.
I'm in the early stages of building my replacement gaming desktop and looking at SSD options.
