IMO, GoPro is not a good choice for this. Cell phones are a better choice if you have a way to mount it or prop it up somewhere. A cell phone will capture amazing audio as long as you can get it close. If you can use more than one camera (cell phone if needed) at a time, stitching and editing the video together can be very useful. Put them in airplane mode to avoid accidental upload, pull the video off of them via USB cable, and delete original before turning off airplane mode. I highly recommend the camera and lens I have below, because they are so useful outside of the bedroom for family or activity stuff. Kind of pricey.

I use three devices at the same time: cell phone, video camera, and microphone. Here is a few links from a recent comment:

>Her view is a Panasonic Lumix DMC-GM5 running a Sigma 350963 60mm F2.8 DN mounted to a GFM MK-1 tripod behind the bed.

>His view, seen in the rest of the gifs (NSFW!), is on a microphone stand held in place by bags of rock salt inside custom bags, and the other end is adorned with a GPS bicycle mount, which uses the Gamin ball diameter that I've standardized on for over ten years. On the ball is a iOttie phone dock, and clipped in the mount is a Galaxy S7 International running in pro video mode.

You can see our home (sexy) tapes here (very NSFW), feel free to ask any questions. I use Adobe Premiere to edit them.

You can get an unlocked Samsung Galaxy S7 New for $434 from Amazon! Prime. Walk into Best buy and find the Samsung rep and they will price match that shit for you. If they don't, get it from Amazon:

Same screen size as iPhone 6, but a much much better device imo.

First, the S7 and HTC are worth about the same amount of money, so the S7 is fosho a better bet than the HTC.

Second, the S7 is genuinely better than the S6 (and HTC 10), with leagues better battery life, but only if you get the Exynos variant. The one you get from US carriers has a Snapdragon, and is barely better. (In fact, it's slower than the S6!)

I'd make an effort to get one. Look at the below Amazon link.
https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S7-Smartphone-International/dp/B01CJSF8IO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485499389&sr=8-1&keywords=galaxy+s7+international

The Exynos S7 is $500 new-and $410 used-on Amazon. That's Z Play money; there's no comparison if you're buying new. Whether you're buying new or used, the difference in price is $100. You're getting an amazingly better phone for it. It's also available on eBay and Swappa, and one will show up on Craigslist every now and then.

If, for whatever reason, you can't get the Exynos S7, get the Z Play. Read the DXOMark review-the camera's not bad, just a lot worse than what you're used to.

EDIT: To answer your question more directly, I had an S6 and got 3 hours of SOT. I had an Exynos S7 Edge and got 8 hours of SOT. Theoretically, I'd get 6.7 hours of SOT from a regular Exynos S7, which is waaaaay better than the S6. Most importantly, the radio drained the hell out of my S6's battery when I wasn't using it-this wasn't the case with my S7.

Considering that you won't buy the gold version, I'd take a look at this. That's the cheapest I can find it for, although I've never seen this website before, so I can't say for sure if the phone is used/if the website can be trusted. I would recommend that, if you really want the HTC 10, you should wait until the next HTC U Ocean/HTC 11 is announced. Hopefully that will lead to a price drop. Otherwise, I would go for a OnePlus 3 or3T, or even a Galaxy S7 which can be found on [Amazon] (https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-Galaxy-S7-Smartphone-International/dp/B01CJSF8IO/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1491357331&sr=8-1&keywords=galaxy+s7+international) for $440 USD. Those will all be comparable to the HTC 10 in performance, if not better, and will be quite a bit easier to get a hold of. If you're going after the HTC 10 for sound quality, then check out the ZTE Axon 7, which goes for $400 USD.

I love the HTC 10, don't get me wrong, but it's awfully hard to find at that price point. For $600 CAD, you're better off going with one of the other phones listed.

I'm looking to buy a Galaxy S7 soon - my Xperia Z3v's charge port cover broke off, and it's a huge pain in the ass now in other facets as well.

I've seen that the Exynos processor has been much better in benchmarks than the Snapdragon 820. If I buy the international version seen here will I still be able to use my phone on Verizon in the states? It says the unlocked phones will not work with Sprint or Verizon - is there any way around this or is it set in stone without me switching carriers?

If I'm still good to go, would the EULAT version (G930F) be better than the ASIA version (G930FD)?

Thanks!

How about a Refurbished S7 Edge for $399?

Here is amazon link: https://www.amazon.com/gp/offer-listing/B01CJU9BBM

Here is RR 7.1.2 link: https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge/development/rom-resurrection-remix-os-nougat-t3528861

Edit:
If a small screen is really important, then the S7 (not edge) would be your only option that meets all your requirements.

It's on amazon for $380 but if you want RR you have to get the Exynos variant called "International Version", it's $490 for a new one and $400 for refurbished

I bought my Sony Xperia Z5 Compact shortly after the S7 was released, and was debating which to buy. The processor and battery specs are better on the S7, and I've heard some good things about the camera. While the Z5 Compact has a 23 MP sensor and I've had no issues with the camera, I suspect the camera app may not be as fast the S7.

I don't take many pictures with my phone, so for me it came down to price, and the fact that I had a great experience with their Z3 Compact. I have no complaints with performance, and while Touchwiz has improved since what I have on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 tablet, I don't much care for TW over Sony's close-to-stock Android. Right now it looks like the Z5 Compact is still at least $100 cheaper (~$350 vs ~$500).

TL;DR See what is best for your situation, not always is it bad to get a package plan. Sometimes it can save you some money. Do some research before you buy and think about what you really need. It all depends on the individual.

I don't know how things work in the oh so beautiful 'Murica, but here in The Netherlands things seem a little different. A phone provider usually states the current price (accurately) of the phone in question. Also here we have the same that you have a contract of usually around 2 years. 1 year is also available most of the time and the prices will be higher. Buying a package plan can be cheaper. And the reason for that is, just like the site Massdrop. A big company can buy a bunch of phones at the same time and make a deal with the seller/manufacturer. Meaning that the prices will drop. I checked this with one of the biggest provider here.

We'll take a package with a Samsung Galaxy S7 32GB, the provider says it costs 600 EUR. A big online seller states 749 EUR for the unlocked phone. (on Amazon (US)) the price for this phone is 570 USD, which is around 510 EUR) So let's take the 600 EUR the provider stated which is right in the middle of the two.

In this package the standard plan is 4GB of data and unlimited minutes and texts. This package costs 40 EUR a month.

They state as you can see here that you already save about 150 EUR on the phone itself by taking this package along with it.

Now let's say we don't trust them and want to calculate ourselves. This exact plan with 4GB data and unlimited minutes and texts without a phone costs 22 EUR a month if we don't want to have a contract for 2 years.

First let's calculate how much money we have spent after 2 years with the package. Which is a simple 40 EUR x 24 = 960 EUR after 2 years with this package.

Next how much money we spend if we have the plan without the phone for the duration of 2 years with that same phone. 22 EUR x 24 = 528 EUR + 600 EUR = 1128 EUR.

We have 1128 EUR - 960 EUR = 168 EUR saved on the phone. That can buy you a nice diner at a good restaurant. But it all depends on your situation. If you aren't going to use a phone for longer than 2 years this is definitely not the package to go with.

So the actual advice here would be to not just buy something but actually think about your situation and what is best for you. And do some research before you decide on a plan. Make these calculations for yourself. Of course the phone is never free, but it can give you a discount if you don't mind having a phone for more than a year.
