It really depends, depending on how light (or heavy) you're willing to travel will change it. If you're willing to carry something like this to house a monitor, keyboard, mouse and excess cables, and a backpack for clothes/shoes and stuff then yea I'd recommend a sffpc. A laptop is great when you want to carry just a backpack, with no worry about where you'll put your mouse, keyboard and monitor. but it does lack sometimes in cooling, and most importantly price/performance, especially considering how cheap some usb powered monitors are (and the fact that you can get a mouse and keyboard for like $20). If you're planning to build a PC right now, I'd say either wait it out or go for a laptop because of GPU prices, but if you're just asking for future reference then I recommend an itx build all the way.
