That kit is overkill if you are just running Octoprint and don't want a case. All the Pi needs is a power supply cable (for power, obvs), an sd card (which operates like the Pi's internal storage like an HDD/SDD in a standard computer), and a USB cable to connect to your 3d printer. This is assuming it is a Pi model that has a wifi antenna built in (all models after the Pi 3 B+ have this standard) otherwise you will need a wifi adapter or an ethernet cable to connect to your access point.
Outside of the Pi itself, you will need an sd card reader to flash Octoprint to the sd card.
