Not trying to hate just giving you a heads up.
If you're looking to save as much money and pull it off as "playable" you're probably looking at replacing the fx6300 with an 8350 + hope you have a PCI-E slot for a USB 3.0 card.
If you have the expansion slot you can do this
https://www.amazon.co.uk/AMD-Black-Vishera-Clock-Turbo/dp/B009O7YUF6 - 75 Euros
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Inateck-Superspeed-Ports-PCI-Expansion/dp/B00B6ZCNGM/ - 20 Euros
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zotac-NVIDIA-GeForce-GDDR5-Graphics/dp/B01IA9FEOO - 250 Euros.
I'd still recommend getting out of the AM3 CPUs and upgrading, but understand budget constraints suck!

Convinced? Can't hear you.
Drop the SSD for now. The 32GB drive is worthless. Save up a bit more and you can get a 120-240GB drive for not much more. Put the money you save on removing the SSD towards getting a 1060 6GB like this one https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B01IA9FEOO/
If anyone asks, this is more worth it than my other post https://www.amazon.ca/ZOTAC-GeForce-Compact-Graphics-ZT-P10600A-10L/dp/B01IA9FEOO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1521959931&sr=8-2&keywords=1060+6gb+gtx

May I ask what country are you buying from? 340 is definitely overpriced for the 6gb at that point id go for the 3gb version

RAM should be $200 or less right?
So I gave my younger brother my old X51 a while back and for Christmas this year I'm thinking about upgrading the old GTX 660 OEM in it to a Zotac 1060 6GB. The PC is mainly limited by the proprietary 330W PSU. Comparing the specs on those 2 pages it seems like I would be good to go, but does anyone have some extra input?
I’d say try and find a 1060 for that money
There are 3gb for like $230 or here’s a 1060 6gb for $270
Hey guys, I currently have a 6800HD. I'm looking at upgrading to a GTX 1060, more specifically this one. Is it worth it, or should I spend the extra on a different version?
Well it’s £230 on Amazon at the minute so maybe £150-180
HOLD ON!!! I missed the GTX 970, you prob don't need to upgrade anything at all bar maybe the RAM. As is you should be able to just about clear 100fps on highest settings in Overwatch - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T6s41VuUbio
---
Pop a 1060 6GB in that (Amazon have one from Zotac at £239 which is an excellent price right now, it's due for release August 7th so best to pre-order now because it'll be snapped up very quick in my opinion) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IA9FEOO/?tag=pcp0f-21
You could also get a 1070 though they're all £400+ with a lot of websites saying 'due for release soon' (August where specified). A bit overkill possibly but it allows you to stagger the upgrades which is always nice (e.g. when you need to upgrade the CPU, Ram and mobo in 2-3 years the 1070 will still be a beast at 1080p and won't need it, allowing you to get something more high end). Unless you see one closer to the £350 mark though I think that 1060 6GB is the best value for you. EDIT: Actually, found one at £369, well worth considering - https://www.unatechnology.co.uk/shop/components-storage/components-storage-graphics-multimedia-io/components-storage-graphics-multimedia-io-graphics-cards/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-1070-mini-itx-oc/
Also I'm not too knowledgable on RAM but that seems really low frequency - you might be as well to dump it or see if you can get a few quid selling and picking up this, 16GB of 1600mhz will do well and £80 is a really good price (will take a few weeks, but what you have will probably suffice in the meantime) - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B010FUN5AQ/?tag=pcp0f-21
Everything else is good for now, even on the 1060 6GB you'll be clearing 120fps+ on ultra or 100+ on 'epic' settings - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9jqBtshCx8E

There's some great deals for under $250 on Amazon right now, provided you're in the UC. A Zotac 6gb GTX 1060 for $229.99, or an Asus RX 580 for $246.99
The GTX 1060s are on sale at many major Canadian retailers (and online). Consider looking at some of those deals as well.
For example: ZOTAC GeForce GTX 1060 Mini 6GB GDDR5 Super Compact Graphics Card (ZT-P10600A-10L) for CAD $329.99
It looks like a full size one will fit but if you save some space they have a shortened version of it with the same power. It just has 1 less fan. Look up the Zotac 1060 Mini 6 GB. I see it on Amazon for $260 right now.
Yes I've put the order in now but it's not too late to change the graphics card if needed. I went for this one as it was a mini which you said would be a good idea.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01IA9FEOO/ref=od_aui_detailpages02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Seemed like good value for £239.99 but please let me know if you think I should swap it out.
I would like to go for 6GB but I wasnt able to find one in my budget
I found this for 209.99

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IA9FEOO/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
this is like $75 USD more, when I expected the difference to be more like 50 USD :(

Great card right here, my friend actually used this card in a system he built today and he gets 90+ fps in all 1080p games ultra settings
Just quickly browsing through amazon.de, here's a GTX1050ti for €140, includes a code for Rocket League.
https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B01M8M5T4T/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?__mk_de_DE=%C3%85M%C3%85Z%C3%95%C3%91&qid=1497884590&sr=8-2&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=gtx+1050+ti+4gb&dpPl=1&dpID=51g4HVFF5BL&ref=plSrch
In a few months the cryptocurrency craziness will probably die down, Vega would be out and you could upgrade.
If you are willing to spend more, here's an overpriced GTX1060 for €270, but it does also come with Rocket League:
https://www.amazon.de/gp/aw/d/B01IA9FEOO/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅZÕÑ&qid=1497884523&sr=8-6&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_FMwebp_QL65&keywords=gtx+1060&dpPl=1&dpID=51tY8oN0%2BTL&ref=plSrch
Thanks for the input guys, I've gone with the 1060 because it's in stock and came in a shorter version - I only had 21cm space and most of the AMDs were 23-30cm. Single fan not dual but still should be good enough.

Hey everyone, I bought a Zotac 1060 from Amazon in August 2016 and it sounds like the fan bearings are starting to go out and it makes a grinding noise under load and boot up.
Am I still able to RMA this or am I way past the time limit? If so what's the process?
Thank you!

Just got a 1060 off this one, kept refreshing for an hour or tww, and one popped up for $250. Would always recommend Amazon though, their customer service is godly
1060, 1050ti. Both zotac minis as they are usually the lowest priced.
Edit: sorry not UK site, but I'm US lol. Just type the names in amazon UK site search bar you'll find em. Or newegg or whatever.
I have the same PC and getting ready to do same. What version of the video card did you use?
Found this one on Amazon for $249

$389
Yeah. That MIR would be an issue. You could always do this: ZOTAC GeForce 1060 6GB https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IA9FEOO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_cqKnybZEZGSEP
It doesn't have has good of a boost clock but it still would be a great card for games. I'm rocking the EVGA 3GB 1060. Loving it but REALLY want the 6GB one :)
Is there anyway to confirm the memory type before you purchase, or is it pot-luck? I'm looking at this one, but there's no mention of the memory brand anywhere...
you should be able to get them much cheaper than 381USD... You should be able to find some for closer to $300
like this one from MSI
Asus has one too
Or this one from EVGA
EVGA and MSI are both generally considered good brands... I don't know how Asus is on video cards but their Motherboards have always served me well.
I don't know much about Zotac but they have one for sub-300 as well
£275
Normal price in the UK is under £250.
In stock September 8th. I wonder how long it'll take for that to go back out of stock.
I'd just get the cheapest 6GB version it's not a huge difference certainly not worth the difference with a lot of them being overpriced atm. Looks like Zotac is the cheapest in stock: https://www.amazon.de/Zotac-GeForce-1060-1506-ZT-P10600A-10L/dp/B01IA9FEOO/ref=sr_1_24?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1501789698&sr=1-24&keywords=%22gtx+1060%22
Would a smaller sized GTX 1060 such as https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01IA9FEOO/?tag=pcp0f-21
Have a significantly lower performance than a standard size one?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Zotac-NVIDIA-GeForce-GDDR5-Graphics/dp/B01IA9FEOO/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1502458704&sr=8-3&keywords=1060+gtx
I have this power supply and I have yet to install it, mainly because I haven't had time and I'm anxious about its quality. What do you think of it, is it a reliable power supply? My warranties are being voided so if it blows up I'm fucked until I'm allowed to work.
(I'm putting it in a Dell XPS 8700 prebuilt so I can use this card (which I also have sitting next to me), if it matters. Specs are:
Motherboard: Dell 0KWVT8
Processor: 4th Generation Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 processor (8M Cache, up to 4.00 GHz)
Hard Drive: 2TB 7200 rpm
RAM: 12GB Dual Channel DDR3 1600MHz (4GBx2 + 2GBx2)
Current Graphics Card: Geforce GTX 745 4 GB
Current Power Supply: Stock PSU, 460 watts w/ 6pin
Case: Dell XPS 8700
Monitor: 1920x1080@60Hz)
(TL;DR: How quality is this PSU?)
Thanks!
I bought a 1060 on Tuesday and got it on Thursday from Amazon. I used the free prime trial to get free shipping. This is the one I bought. https://www.amazon.com/ZOTAC-GeForce-Compact-Graphics-ZT-P10600A-10L/dp/B01IA9FEOO/ref=sr_1_1?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1478308491 The AMP version is factory overclocked.
Despite being half the size it's a full 1060. At first I thought it was a cut down version, but benchmarks show it gets the same performance as the stock version. http://www.computershopper.com/components/reviews/zotac-geforce-gtx-1060-mini-6gb
I thought maybe it has high heat. I had Skyrim Special Edition maxed out at 1920x1080 getting 60 FPS (locked framerate by the game) and MSI Afterburner showed it sitting between 40 C and 50 C. At idle it's currently 32 C, or 89 degrees in freedom units.
There is clicking at very particular RPMs, but only at low speeds, not sure what's up with that. I used MSI Afterburner's fan curve setter thingy so it won't go lower than 50% and there' no clicking but it's still very quiet. My case fans are louder than it, probably means I need quieter case fans. My old 280X was a vacuum cleaner in comparison!

Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB Mini GDDR5.
Will this card be a good upgrade? I'm currently using a Radeon RX 460, I'm looking to upgrade my CPU to a Ryzen 7 2700x as well. The CPU is probably overkill, but I'd like to future proof with that and make a gradual upgrade on my GPU.
Thanks

Hey i do lean towards the rx480 as i think its a better choice... but if you are on the fence about getting a gigabyte card, you can also consider the Zotac 1060 mini...

that card should be fine, i just wanted to make sure it would fit cause some of those cards can get pretty big, the one i just bought is https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01IA9FEOO/?tag=pcpapi-20 but I have a miniATX build. if you enter your current build on pcpartpicker it should show you compatible power supplies, the best advice i have for those is make sure you get a big enough one and dont skimp out cause you can screw yourself
Single fan. Here's a link to the card.
Also, it it looks like the GPU is priced incorrectly, at 270 on amazon. Would you think the Zotac single fan version would be an alright alternative?
Do you think the Zotac NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 6 GB Mini is also a good option?

GTX 970 right now is decent value for money if you plan on mostly playing DX11 titles in 1080p. You can get one for 200 pounds, slightly more if you want a premium quality custom model with factory overclock, such as this GALAX Black Edition. But I would not recommend it. 970 had a good run, can personally confirm that it works great - I have MSI 970 4G Gaming edition, bought it 1 month after launch, served me exceptionally well. But its a 2 year old GPU - it was primarily designed for DX11 games, it runs them exceptionally well - it even outruns RX 480 and 1060 in some titles! - although it does have full DX12 support. Even async compute - despite what some AMD fanboys say, 970 supports, it just doesn't benefit much from enabling it. And drivers for it are about as good as they will ever get, there is not much more performance to gain from driver optimization, aside from fixing some game-specific bugs (there is a good side to it tho - its very stable and reliable, never had a driver crash when gaming for over a year when I play on stock clocks, even when playing indie/beta games)
I am right now playing most games on mixture of high/ultra settings and getting 60fps average. But I can already see the card starting to struggle with more recent titles - The Divison it wont reach 60 unless I give up on ultra settings. Its a Ubisoft game, but still. I am managing, because I don't mind not having everything on ultra, and I also got my 970 to reach 1560MHz core clock - thats 300MHz over reference stock clocks (50 MHz from factory overclock, and another 250 from Afterburner), I am running it on 1460 MHz by default right now, because at 1560 I do get an odd glitch or texture artefact on less stable/optimized games. I am gonna replace it next year probably, 2018 at the latest - but thats only if Vega disappoints me as much as Pascal did.
My point is - the 970 has great reputation, its a good cad, and those who bought it on launch got a great value from it - maxing out games for 2 years, and then 1-2 more years of relative comfort playing at OK settings that don't make eyes bleed. But buying one right now - its just not something I would recommend to anyone who wants good GPU that will last for a while.
If you really want nVidia - just get a 1060. Its a good performer, it runs DX12/Vulkan better - although RX 480 is still better for those new APIs - and its only gonna get better as drivers mature.
This Zotac 1060 is tiny and easy to install, will run cool, and costs 233 pounts, which is just 20 pounds more than 970. Additional 2GB of VRAM alone worth the extra 20.

If you want to fit in an SSD, you could squeeze a bit more out of the budget. For example, you have a $330 1060 in your proposed build, but if you're willing to do a bit of waiting, there's usually a 1060 on Amazon for $280 (such as this Asus model right now.) If you're going for mini (maybe that case is small?), there's actually a Zotac mini 1060 for $250 right now. That would leave enough room for a 240 GB A-data SP550 SSD.
I have this GPU in my PC.
Oh yeah, the length might be a problem. Try to measure how much space there is.
Something like a AMD Nano should fit fine. Get a used one or when they are on sale. New they are probably not good bang for the buck.
