Diagnosed with a dust mite allergy about a month ago.
Washing my beddings once a week in hot water ( along with taking over the counter allergy meds ) makes a significant different in my ability to concentrate and in my energy levels.

Some repeated questions, so here are some answers
Here are links for the bed things I bought. Very pricey. Almost every product had complaints on Amazon. Someone sent me a link to their dust mite blog where he recommended these products & brands. No complaints on Amazon at the time I ordered them.
Get tested before buying or taking anything ( feel free to wash your bedding ASAP though ), as these things are pricey

She said I will notice a difference in 6 months, and the treatment will reach its maximum effect in 3 - 5 years.
I had to do 4 cycles of chemo earlier this year. Quickly learned how badly chemo affects the body.
I dried out like a prune. I had a bloody nose for about 4 weeks straight. Not a dripping type, but where it would just kind of hang out, get really sticky and scab up.
I was drinking up to and sometimes more than a gallon of water a day. My skin I could slap a soothing lotion on. But with my nose, everyone recommended Vaseline. I’m not a fan of using petroleum based products, but was desperate for a solution.
My oncologist recommended I use a saline spray. When I was in the pharmacy trying to find some saline spray, which I did buy and I attribute some of the healing from, I found a saline nasal gel with aloe vera.
It was goopy and has a slightly thinner texture than Vaseline, but this stuff works! It actually moisturizes and helps to heal, which is different than Vaseline, which acts as a barrier. Moisture doesn’t get out, but it also can’t get in. Saved my nose from the remainder of chemo.
I’ve since recommended it to a coworker who was going through tons of Aquaphor while on Accutane. She was having the same issue. Bloody nose and scabbing from dry nasal passages. She used it over a weekend and came back and told me how amazing it was.
Ayers Nasal Gel with aloe Amazon link, just in case any one is curious. I highly recommend. Since it sounds like you will inevitably be around smoke again, you may want to pick up a tube.
You need a snotsucker. It has a filter so that the snot does not make it into your mouth.

I have used it on both my kiddos.
Vick's VapoInhaler! feels like fat snowflakes falling on yr face when peaking. unbeatable if you ask me
Put some Vaseline in your nostrils before they start to hurt. It's an uphill battle once they are raw.
Someone pointed out Saline Nasal Gel is far superior to Vaseline. I'll be trying that this year.
Use something like this www.amazon.com/Nasopure-Nicer-Sinus-System-Ounce/dp/B002N1TOZ6/ . Easier to use for beginners
Hijacking top post to provide Amazon links at 5c/tablet... Upvote to say Fuck You to the Australia Tax
Telfast is Fexofenadine.
Zyrtec is Cetirizine
Claratyne is loratadine
Rhinocort is Budesonide
I think it’s the Vick’s VapoInhaler
I used this one last year and it was fantastic: https://www.amazon.com/Arm-Hammer-Simply-Saline-Nasal/dp/B00KH5M2K4
There's no need to mix or use solutions. I recommend doing it right after a hot shower. You'll be disgustingly surprised.
It's what I use too, it's a little less expensive on amazon. https://www.amazon.com/Teleflex-Addipak-Unit-Solutions-Count/dp/B01DZ0DYOA
>much cheaper than Claratin, Allegra, or other newer types
These can be bought as generics on Amazon for super cheap. This generic Zyrtec is 4 cents a pill.
Generic Allegra is quite a bit more expensive but not too terrible.
Generic Claritin is also super cheap.
The generic Zyrtec and Claritin are actually cheaper than what they sell thh Wal-Finate for (which comes out to a little over 10 cents a pill -- and they last all day instead of 4 hours).
I still have over half of my generic Zyrtec bottle from last year linked above.
For that matter, you can also get chlorpheniramine (what Wal-Finate is) on Amazon for much cheaper too. The Walgreen's website has their Wal-Finate listed at $7 for a 50 count of 4mg tablets. Amazon has $12 for a 1000 count of 4mg tablets.
You're welcome :)
Iodine compounds are effective disinfecting agents but are not used IN the wound. They are used ON intact skin prior to surgery or to prep an area prior to a procedure. Your best bet is sterile saline solution under pressure - essentially squirting the wound. We use large syringes to forcefully irrigate the wound which cleanses it, dislodging debris and germs. Use gravity to drain the saline off and do it over a sink or bath tub - don't worry about a bit of fresh bleeding. Repeat several times and if you are not allergic to antibacterial ointment, place that on the wound and cover it.
Edit: Here saline comes in a can saving the need for a syringe.
We were given one in the hospital (one of the few things we were given, in fact) and I had a few at home. For us, having a bulb or some sort of snot sucker in every main baby room of our house (our room, the living room, the nursery - plus the diaper bag) was really helpful because - so much snot, and you can't always pop up and look for the thing when you need it right now. I can't say enough good things about the NoseFrida (or the Nasakleen for a cheaper option that's just as good, if not better because of the cushy nose part). It's nasty as hell in theory but... my son was sick. A LOT. Once he started daycare. And when your 3 month old cannot breathe... it really doesn't even register how nasty it is to be sucking the snot out of their head. You just do it.
Tip - ALWAYS use Saline spray before you do a maintenance bulb or nosefrida. It's more comfortable for baby and it helps break the stuff up before you go in so you clear more with less effort. Obvs if it's an emergency suction you just go for it, saline be damned, but for general snot clearage the saline is your BFF.

Great work! I’d suggest the NoseFrida Snot Sucker w/ Saline - Baby Nasal Aspirator NoseFrida The Snotsucker with 10 Extra Hygiene Filters and All-Natural Saline Nasal Spray by Frida Baby https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N093BYV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_jMlVDbJTGD4ZB. Also, the carrier you got Infanito or whatever the brand was...it’s get what you pay for. There are much more durable ones that I wish I had gotten. If you think you will hardly use it, the cheaper one is fine but I’d suggest putting a more expensive one with better support on your registry. Ergo baby is popular. Congrats and good luck with you LO!
I'm not sure about unisol. My patients have been pretty happy with AddiPacks: http://www.amazon.com/ADDIPAK-Unit-Dose-Solutions-3ml/dp/B00XCQXPMY/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1462368558&sr=8-3&keywords=addipak
i would recommend something more like this since you cant really get warm or clean water at the festival. I used them last year and it changed my life...

I don't want to scare you with any of this but I with someone had told me these things.
Swelling can be terrible but will not be bad if you get on top of it right away. Don't wait till the next day, start that evening with ice packs. For swelling have frozen bags of peas on-hand for the first day as well as small nugget or crushed ice for later. I liked to use quart size baggies filled with ice with a paper towel between the bag and my face. Keep the pressure off your nose for the first few days, just hold it along side on the cheeks and forehead. The more you ice the less pain meds you need.
Take ibuprofen for swelling/pain every 4 to 6 hours the first few days (check with you Dr. and make sure he approves). Mine said he'd rather me take that then narcotics for pain. Also takeBromelain Arinica Montana for swelling and start about 3 days before the surgery and keep taking them for several weeks. You can use the pills or cream Arinica to help with bruising/swelling. I used both. You will be bruised and it will be 10 to 14 days before it's all gone. About day 10 you can go in public with foundation and not attract attention. Compared to the other girls that were with me and had the same surgery I looked much much better much quicker and I think it was the use of these.
Expect a lot of bleeding out your nose. It's normal and expected for the first week. Also have some saline nasal spray on hand. You use it to irrigate the nose several times a day the first couple of weeks and then you are suppose to keep you nose moist for the first 6 weeks. I went through about a dozen bottles the first 2 months.
The best day ever is around day 5 when the packing comes out. During surgery your surgeon will pack you sinus and nasal passages with gauze to hold the shape and control bleeding. It feels millions of times better when all that is pulled out. They will remove it in the office and it's scary but really does not hurt much. The tape removal will be worse but still nothing you can't handle. Just be sure you have taken ibuprofen recently (if allowed).
Be ready for a long period of swelling on your nose. At first it will look huge. It took about 5 months for mine to lose all the swelling. Also the scar along the hairline will look 10 times worse than it is and will heal fairly quickly. The first few days will be a blur if you take narcotics for pain, I took Ibuprofen for pain and it was never worse than a bad headache but the girls that use the hard narcotics always seem to have more pain and a longer recovery. I was up and around the next day and by day 4 could go out had I wanted to (but didn't for 2 weeks).
You can't wear glasses or sunglasses for a few weeks and you also want to keep you scars out of the sun.
Feel free to ask anything else. Good luck!
olbas inhaler. this is worth every penny!

Is it winter in your neck of the woods? And do you use a humidifier in your house/bedroom? The nosebleed could have just been dry nasal membranes, And for that, this stuff is literally a godsend. It's so much better than a nasal saline spray and will help your nose heal and keep it moist so you don't get a bleeder again. I usually squeeze it on a qtip and apply to my nose, that lets me get the gel where it needs to be. Shark week is only something your husband can help with :)
Get something like this. You can probably buy one at a local drugstore.
These are wonderful and transportable:

well, when i mean cheap stuff i mean 30x5ml pack around 3€ here in Portugal, which is preservative free as any expensive brand and has the same ingredients "0.9% sodium chloride solution" mixed with water.
I see on amazon even cheaper for those in U.S like https://www.amazon.com/Teleflex-Addipak-Unit-Solutions-Count/dp/B01DZ0DYOA
You may want to try this product - it works pretty good for clearing the nasal passages pretty quickly

This is what helped me (posted a day or so ago in another thread):
Get a netti pot type thing. I use this water bottle one every day (https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002N1TOZ6/) and it completely eliminated all my daily sinus issues. Make sure to use purified water (like publix gallon jugs) to avoid amoebas. I also prefer using the salt in the mix as well.

These are the ones we get, I'm trying to remember one brand my friend brought to edc that was super intense and I can't remember for the life of me who made it.
I go with these but after getting two good sclerals recently instead of just wearing one, I normally have to open 2 or 3 of them each morning. I might switch to the larger vials.

My ENT said I probably had some allergy, but we never tried to figure out what I was allergic to.
After the surgery, he put me on a nasal spray that I used daily. The prescription expired and I looked at what’s in the spray and it turns out it’s basically a combination of Flonase and Claritin. So I have been ordering those from Amazon and taking those daily.
Maybe if you do the same, it might be good for you. I’m not a doctor, so it’s only a suggestion. The two are over the counter, and either I’m used to them or they have no noticeable side effects.
The claritin https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B074F18H5N/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The Flonase https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01H40O42I/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It’s basically $35 US for 6 months supply.
Regards,
Yeah, sleep apnea sucks. The nose resists your inhalation especially if you have a deviated septum so fixing that was a good thing but you were still plugged up by allergies. That is a good question of whether nasal sprays cross the blood-brain barrier and if so if they do the same bad effects as in your other link. I'd be curious to know! I like this for clearing out my nose: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000M4W2E6/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?smid=A3QAXKUI0V858F&psc=1
Yes; this is what I bought but something similar should be fine.

If it's anything like what I am going though she will be worlds better but the sinus infections will still be an occasional (once or twice a year) issue. The huge difference is now she'll know for sure if her nose is stuffy it's an infection and not allergies. That makes a world of difference in how you care for your self.
My personal recommendation for treating sinus infections is to remember that water is your friend. It breaks up the mucus that gets stuck up there and prevents infections. My go to tools are (in no particular order) Mucinex, sinus rinses with a bit of Alkalol Nasal Wash, long hot showers, humidifiers, and sinus buster. All of these make it hard for anything that is growing up there to stay up there but none of these are one shot fixes. My last resort is antibiotics. I've gotten several bad sinus infections but it's been years since I've resorted to antibiotics.
If they are still a far to frequent issue she should go to an ENT and get a CT scan to see if she has a structural problem s/he can fix. In a way she is lucky if she does. It means that her sinus infection issues can be solved with simple surgery. However she'll be even luckier if after the shots she has no infections issues at all.
Edit: I forgot to add that the major point of all those tools are to stop a sinus infection before it gets bad. A stuffy nose today means an infection in a few days unless you clean it out before hand

I like these
I've used these before But i feel like the bottled torks die too quickly once you open them. And i like being able to throw the capsules lol
There's also nasal salt water sinus flush like the neti pot or Simply Saline. It's good for preventing sinus infections. Have to keep it really clean though and wash it out between refilling. That part's annoying but I haven't had a sinus infection in years thanks to using one.
Kirkland-brand is available from Amazon
$11.65 = 365 Loratadine 10mg Tablets (generic Claritin)
$15.76 = 365 Cetirizine 10mg Tablets (generic Zyrtec)
$24.60 = 180 Fexofenadine 180mg (generic Allegra)
Nah, science is amazing and has a solution.
Spam is unbelievably good out there.
This is the nasal inhaler I used
If I may make a suggestion. This is significantly cheaper and 1,000 times more effective than any nasal spray I know of. Ask anyone on your CF team or any ENT doctor or allergist. They will agree.

I've been using it whenever my sinuses get bad and it works wonders. Just be sure to use water that was bowled and then cooled down. Mix one packet of the salt/banking soda into the water, stir, and pour it in gently letting it run out the other nostril. There are countless youtube videos showing how well it works and how to do it.

It works to wake up you CNS by arousing consciousness because the release of ammonia gas irritates the membranes of the nose and lungs, and thereby triggers an inhalation reflex. This reflex alters the pattern of breathing, resulting in improved respiratory flow rates and alertness.
You should get some a try it.

The one I bought is called "GUOER Mask Can Be Washed Reusable N95 Mask One Size Multiple Colors" (link:https://www.amazon.com/GUOER-Washed-Reusable-Multiple-Color23/dp/B073QMLX47/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1542218617&sr=8-1&keywords=GUOER+Mask+Can+Be+Washed+Reusable+N95+Mask+One+Size+Multiple+Colors) and on Amazon it's $13. I do not take any supplements for my immune system as I don't want to help it work better on my gut. I do use sleepytime sinus soother/throat tamer/vanilla tea which seems to help provide steam to my sinuses and make them feel better. I also sometimes take echinacea and zinc cough drops as that should predominately act locally and inhibit illness in that area but not act to promote my immune system elsewhere. However, that is theoretical and I haven't done any reading about the global impact (versus the local mouth impact) of zinc lozenges. One really helpful thing I do is use a personal steam inhaler with a menthol inhalant (steamer link: https://www.amazon.com/Vicks-Personal-V1200-Targeted-Congestion/dp/B0000TN7MY/ref=sr_1_3_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1542218643&sr=8-3&keywords=vicks+personal+steam). That helps me fight off illnesses fairly well, I think, and makes me feel much better, too. Finally, I've just started sleeping more and taking better care of myself. Like, 8 hours is the norm, even though I'm in grad school. I'm happy to discuss more as I've always gotten sick easily and now I'm sure it will be worse.
I think it's interesting too. I found the registered trademarks for HITMAN and Medal of Honor video games. Seems dumb to not use the ® that cost hundreds or thousands of dollars to get. The USPTO's guide on page 15 states that "it is best" to use the ® but that you don't have to.
You definitely don't have to use ® or ™. I think it would annoying in writing if every instance of the brand has an ® or ™. Probably risky to leave out if discussing a competitor's product like generic medicines stating to compare their active ingredients to the brand name.

This is the type of product my APP piercer recommends, and sells, in his shop. With his, you just stand in the shower and spray/irrigate the area. No hassle. So this is what I would recommend.
If getting a Hafada piercing is a goal, ensure they use a substantial size jewelry, as the scrotal skin moves a lot more than other parts of the body. 3/4” ring is recommended for starter jewelry prior to healing. Me being me, I would go with a larger gauge, largest the piercer was comfortable with. I have multiple piercings, and find large gauge means faster healing and more comfortable healing.
This is what I use but there are others.

I understand what you mean with waste regarding the unidose tubes, but it's currently the best way to avoid contamination as others have stated. I am in the U.S. and I use this product - which is almost identical to what you use, but with different branding and casing. You can always recycle the tubes IIRC.

Edit: Adding on - - - I have also used Purilens in the past and that was over kill. I used to purchase six, 4oz bottles at a time, but I kept under utilizing it by a landslide by the time it expired. Container states to stop using it 30 days after you originally break the seal. If I didn't I would start to notice that as time went on and I continued use of the saline, my sclerals would start to get cloudy towards the end of those 30 days. That's why I switched. Best of luck!
CBD has mostly enhanced my life. It's a pain killer that actually works without messing up my liver or causing any other serious side effects. You have to use it responsibly of course, but when used medically it's just medicine. I can't wait until it is fully legalized so we can end the completely unnecessary stigma surrounding it. It has the potential to help a lot of people with a wide range of conditions. Sadly I have to hide it from a few people that will judge me negatively because of it (my girlfriends Mom for example), but otherwise I'm fairly open about it.
I am glad you're seeing an acupuncturist, I forgot to mention acupuncture in my post. I see one as well. While they are similar to a naturopath they're slightly different approaches. A naturopath will use supplements, diet, and both western and eastern herbs depending on their background and areas of focus. Acupuncturists mainly use eastern herbs and obviously acupuncture which actually stimulates the cannabinoid system, as well as other systems western medicine doesn't even identify.
Much like you I use to get sinus infections a lot and doctors kept putting me on antibiotics most of my childhood, even into my teens. Unfortunately for me this caused further dysbiosis which weakened my immune system to the point where I got Candida, which caused malabsorption issues, damaged my gut lining, and caused SIBO. It's taken me a while to figure this all out, I originally thought I just had SIBO but after treating it for a year on an SCD diet and relapsing when I reintroduced sugar is when I realized I had something else going on. I'm now taking herbs from my acupuncturist and on an anti-Candida diet. I'm about 4 months in and my SIBO is now gone, I'm able to eat a lot more veggies, and haven't had a major episode in months.
Killing Candida sucks, the fatigue and brain fog was horrible the first month or two, but I'm finally feeling better.
A recent research study showed that antibiotics can cause lasting gut flora changes for up to a year or more. There's also some evidence they can also lead to Candida (which is literally a fungal infection). So it is possible you may be dealing with Candida as a result of antibiotic use, and your inclusion of sugar in your diet. It is seriously something to consider, research, and get tested for. Although I tested negative for it myself and then just went ahead and tried an anti-fungal tincture of black walnut and got what's called a herx reaction which indicated I did have a Candida infection. Maybe something to discuss with your acupuncturist or a naturopath?
As for your sinus infections the fix is super easy - saline nasal spray. I was on vacation in the Caribbean and all my nasal and sinus issues went away when I was swimming in the ocean every day. I realized I was getting a healthy dose of salt water in my sinuses and that totally cleared me out. When I got home I started using saline nasal sprays daily and haven't had a sinus infection since. I use this stuff but any non-medicated saline spray will do: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000M4W2E6/ref=mp_s_a_1_1?qid=1449433903&sr=8-1&pi=SY200_QL40&keywords=nasal+spray&dpPl=1&dpID=41a4X0VdwoL&ref=plSrch
There's also some studies I've seen that indicate probiotics can help prevent and treat some sinus infections. Although you need to be extremely careful of what brands you buy, over 50% of probiotics sold contain gluten and contaminants and some probiotics can make SIBO worse.
I should also note that reoccurring sinus infections are also a potential symptom of Candida. Your sinus infections are possibly related to your gut flora and digestion issues.

Screw all these other "life hacks" and non-answers. This works instantly.
Two words: nasal irrigation.
Well I really need this under tank heater for my new tank of rescues coming
more specifically i need it in this larger size but that goes over 50
or more of this because my allergies are terrible and i went through all the bottles i had
or my dogs could use more of this but I don't really NEED that, since i will be buying them that food regardless, they don't go without. I will go without before I'd let them. It's the other things that I probably won't end up buying.
She's destroyed 2 years of toys in two weeks though and could use another one of these
Buy this instead all natural and sooo much better http://www.amazon.com/Olbas-LIN12-Inhaler-0-01-Ounce/dp/B00014DMG4
As has been stated, no tea tree oil! Ditch the H2Ocean (too many ingredients) and get some wound wash from a local drug store (I use this one), it's sterile saline spray in a can. Spray both sides of the piercing once or twice a day. I personally let it air dry on my lobes, but you could gently dab it dry with a clean cloth or woven gauze.
If you don't know the jewelery type, I'd guess it's surgical steel. You could be allergic/sensitive to nickel, which is sometimes in surgical steel in small amounts. See a reputable piercer and get a new ring, titanium or niobium. They should be able to help you switch it out as well.
This is what I'm using nasal care wise atm; https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000M4W2E6/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm new to nasal care, but been sniffing since about 8 years now on & off. So far though, using that before I sleep or when I feel my sinus' getting clogged up? Definitely helps keeping everything at a business as usual level.
Yes, but these are cheaper.

OH I forgot...I bought this at Walmart: http://www.amazon.com/Vicks-V1200-Personal-Steam-Inhaler/dp/B0000TN7MY
It helped SO much. More than most meds, and I get asthma which usually requires steroids when I catch colds so it definitely works for the hardcore crud. It was not this expensive at Walmart, I've seen them at CVS too I think.

Both of my pitties suffer from allergies, especially when after they sunbathe. I wipe them down with some pet wipes, but my vet said I could give them OTC allergy meds. I do have Benadryl if needed, but I find that these Chlorpheniramine works better. I order on Amazon or get it at Costco. It's super cheap and I give them a pill twice a day in some PB and they do much better than with Benadryl. My white pitties breaks out in hives too, and he has a tendency to lick his paws to the point that they are raw if his allergies are acting up too badly. This really helps prevent all of that.
+1 for celluvisc. I use it everyday along with addipak saline. I find it to be more comfortable than just saline alone
Last visit at the eye doctor, he said that the celluvisc makes the solution more viscous (thicker) which makes it harder for dust and other irritants to get under the lens. I have heard other folks say it helps with fogging as well.

Examine describes it as a depressive neurotransmitter, it was recommended to me on here, I'd recommend it if nothing else works, I've found it helps along melatonin and [this](valumeds allergy medicine (600 tablets) antihistamine, diphenhydramine hcl 25 mg | children and adults | relieve itchy eyes, runny nose, sneezing (com https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077CSNBRR/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_ntMuqBp2KZYJT)

I hate that the every day allergy pill regimen doesn't work for me. Especially in the Fall when they are no mercy. Generic Ztec-D when needed (can't abuse that decongestant) and sinus rinse once to twice daily has been the most helpful. Those NeilMed squeeze bottles have been the best investment I've ever made as an allergy sufferer. Using it with Alkalol on occasion is incredible.

Just a warning for those who rely on Afrin (or similar) to help them breathe - that stuff is dangerous to use for more than 2-3 days at a time. You will really screw up your nose if you do. I found this stuff called Xlear that is all-natural and works just as good - if not better - than Afrin. And you can take it as often as you like!

(use it as an alternative to Flonase, Nasacort, etc.)
Sudafed is still your best friend, though :)

It's a little cheaper then getting it from the doctor. Depending on what you use to deep clean your lenses, you can pretty much find it on Amazon too.

Benadryl is your friend
Using this nasal rinse every morning helps me quite a bit
neti pot.
also, when I get a cold, I usually eat mostly raw fruits and veggies, it helps me get better quicker (mostly because I can't stomach much else), and take a daily vitamin and a bowl of hot broth for protein. vitamin c helps thin mucous, so an orange or two before the show will help congestion.
Previously to my stupid high dose night whenever I did some cocaine I would always use this for my dry nose: Here
It would work beautifully to keeping my nose in working order and not try.
This is one of the greatest purchases I've ever made.
Edit: fixed the broken link
