my suggestion would be to do the door swap, then buy a self-install remote unlock off ebay and wire it up without a PI =)

edit: in fact, the kits that include the actuators are really cheap. ( https://www.amazon.com/Biltek-CX-402-Conversion-Universal-actuators/dp/B0033YECEK )

Get a door lock cover like this one and screw it over the lock with security screws. It will cover the hole they made in your door, keeping the elements and further thieves out. And unlike replacing the door, will keep anyone from doing the same thing again in the future or on the passenger side.

So I was looking into this too, and found this kit on Amazon for 30 bucks. It says it adds remote lock/unlock functionality to all 4 doors. This would not include remote ignition, but that's not a huge priority for me.

I have no idea how this works, so if anyone has installed something like this please let us know what you think.

I am going to say both. Looks like that hinge has it's pin threaded on one end. Not sure what this is attached to, but could be threaded to attach a door stop.

Edit: clicked the post, didn't realize I was in a Wrangler subreddit. Thought I was in /whatis thisthing. So could it possibly be this?
