ILIVABLE Seatbelt Adjuster, Comfort Universal Auto Shoulder Neck Strap Positioner Clips, Vehicle Seat Belt Covers (2 Pack, Black) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07GYD44D3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_3tmBDb407C25T

There are other ones out there too, but this was just one of my first results from an Amazon search. I use one and really like it.

Here's a situation I was in as a damn customer.

Wife bought a car. She loved it on the test drive, we got a good price and bought from a store I'd gotten a car from. Everything was good, we took the car directly from the dealership to go run some errands. My wife starts commenting on how the seat belt is hurting her. We try moving the seat, we try her throwing a jacket on (which would only be tenable some of the time). Nothing is working. She's getting more and more uncomfortable driving the car. We've tried every seat position that still lets her physically drive the car and nothing is working. In my head I'm thinking "I'm going to have to go back to the Sales Manager and try to get him to unwind this deal over a fucking seat belt. All we can do is be honest with him and hope for the best."

In the end, I went to an auto parts store as soon as we got home and bought some shitty seat belt pads. I also ordered one of these beautiful bastards, which ultimately did the trick. Satisfaction and love for the car was restored and I didn't have to end up in a thread like this; until now.

I like the dmm from taco garage. It’s sleek and not crazy expensive plus it puts my phone in the perfect spot.

Also this organizer for the center console. . Totally worth the $20 or so dollar for the insert and the dividers.

If you’re short, like me, you may need one of the kid clips that lower the height of the seat belt. I’m driving a Miata right now, so it’s less of an issue, but in the Jeep, we had to get a clip so the seatbelt went across my shoulder instead of my neck - along the lines of this - Safety Belt Comfort | Seat Belt Adjuster https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07B4GYQKM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_s6f2CbVEJE8A7

Get one of those small round stick-on automotive blind spot mirrors like this one: http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00029WT08

https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/rust-on-frame-with-a-c-drain-mod-fix.444138/#post-12942289

Do this as soon as you can. The a.c. puts out a lot of water, so keeping it off the frame to avoid rusting for a few dollars is something everyone should do.

Toyota Tacoma Center Console Organizer (2016 - Present) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B016ZB4VZC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_yMJH8ohGfbLuX just got this in an it's already such a useful addition.

Husky makes a great pair of floor liners (not just floor mats) really keeps your floors in perfect condition.

Other add ons include in channel window deflectors if they interest you, and a bed mat.

I've had mine since 8/30 and love it. Over 550 miles on it already lol. Done the first three already. Will be holding off for a while on other changes.

u/RustyJ · 3 pointsr/monocular

I've driven all sorts of cars, SUVs, trucks, you name it. Never really had a problem with visibility. These were all LHD cars and I'm blind in my right eye, so I'm not sure if that makes a difference.

My blind spot is for the most part covered by my mirrors. I would imagine any car could be made workable if you picked up some of those little stick-on convex mirrors, or something similar.

u/99e99 · 3 pointsr/craftsman113

Common upgrades:

  • buy or make some push sticks
  • zero clearance insert for safety and improve cut quality
  • on/off paddle switch for safety, something like this: https://www.amazon.com/Woodstock-D4151-220-Volt-Paddle-Switch/dp/B005W17FRS
  • thin kerf blade(s). i like switching between diablo 24T rip blade for ripping, and diablo 50T combo blade for everything else. the thin kerf helps cut through harder woods with our so-so 1hp motor.
  • i don't know if you have a miter gauge, but if not they are useful. or better yet build a cross-cut sled
  • your crank handles look to be in good shape, but if you need to replace you can get aluminum for about the same price as plastic: https://imgur.com/a/M33dCdU. available from ebay seller or1more.
  • (typically later because $$$) a biesemeyer fence, like a delta t3. these are pricey but your best upgrade as the stock fences are pretty bad.

> I often put the seat belt under my arm because I'm short AF and it digs into my neck.

Do you know that most modern cars have adjustments to lower the seat belt height? No snark, I'm genuinely asking.

Examples 1, 2, 3. Once properly adjusted even kids can wear a seatbelt comfortably.

Alternatively, try something like this.

If you dont care about the safety feature of a mag switch then you can go with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005W17FRS/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I have one on my Unisaw. Its still wired into the original mag starter but since its an on-off switch and not a momentary button (like it originally had), the safety feature is rendered useless. Didn't bother me personally

u/burnt_wick · 3 pointsr/CrownVictoria

I also have this one (in black) and I really like it. Fits well, armrest is comfortable, and it holds lots of stuff.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000V9FWSA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/Etab · 3 pointsr/ToyotaTacoma

Not really a mod, but the first thing I bought was a Vehicle OCD tray that fits in the center console and makes it a little more functional instead of a massive endless void, along with some console dividers. It's the little things!

Also got a Toyota logo hitch plug and WeatherTech mats for the front and back seats.

u/ilovestats1 · 3 pointsr/TeslaModel3

Congrats, your car is gorgeous!!! I'm sure Telsa branded are amazing as well, but I too ordered mats on Amazon, and they are fantastic.

Mats: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07MHTLHDL/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Liners: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FN6X5QS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Console wrap (the piano black is nice, but I can't stand finger prints): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07CZL8ZR5/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I also ordered weather strip from RPM Tesla, I do not recommend them.

u/TheMiracleWhip · 2 pointsr/TeslaModel3

Had the shop that did my tint wrap it. Was going for this look: https://www.amazon.com/EV-Wraps-Tesla-Center-Console/dp/B07FZCPNR8/ref=sr_1_5?keywords=ev+wraps+tesla+model+3+center+console+wrap&qid=1564359292&s=automotive&sr=1-5

Thought about wrapping myself but since I was getting the tint done I decided to have them do it as well.

If you want an easy way to increase your situational awareness, spend $9 on a clip-on wide-angle mirror.

If you want to be more hardcore, spend $19 on a 5-panel mirror, which doesn't distort distances.

If you’re using the j1772 frequently, this center console organizer is great and fits the included adapter perfectly: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07P2WT6B4?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share. The coin holder part is removable.

u/fazzno · 2 pointsr/f150

Here’s the built right seat release: https://www.builtrightind.com/products/builtright-industries-f-150-rear-seat-release

I went with the “OCD center console” from amazon: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00XIY8NNQ/
Cheap plastic, nowhere worth $25 but it fits and works well.

u/Crusty_Dick · 2 pointsr/CasualConversation

My tips would be to try driving a smaller or a more compact car. I find they have a better turning radius, thus are much easier to parallel park, getting into tight corners, navigating through tight spaces, etc. Also try replacing your rear view mirror with a wider one like one of these: Fit System RM011 Clip-on Wide Angle Rear View Mirror https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001A0J2JO/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_hYf-wbBME5VY5

I use this particular 18 inch mirror that just clips on to your existing mirror. This gives you a much bigger field of vision of what's behind you when your driving, and you can see your blindspots and everything! It just feels much more safer, thus making you feel more confident when driving..

Having a backup camera can help you alot too. I mainly use mine for parallel parking because it's sometimes hard to judge the distance between the back of my car and the front of the car behind me.

You can also try investing in brighter LED headlights for your car if you don't have them already. Or turn on your fog lights as well. I know, driving at night can be dangerous especially when it's hard to read the road signs or see the street lines, especially if your not familiar with the roads. Just remember, if its really hard to see at night and there are no cars around you, feel free to use your high beams! That's what they are there for. Just make sure you don't have them on if there is a car coming in front of you because you can seriously blind the hell out of them lol. I deliver food as part of my job so I am always driving and exploring new areas, driving at night is always much harder..

u/maddiedog · 2 pointsr/ToyotaTacoma

The center console should come stock with something like this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KI3WG1O -- it's a simple drop in mod that makes a big difference.

u/VTechHokie · 2 pointsr/ToyotaTacoma

I just use this for my change in the center console. Works great for me.

u/roj2323 · 2 pointsr/woodworking

It looks like with a bit of cleaning and replacing the start stop button with a new start/stop paddle switch you will be all set.

The replacement switch is cheap too: $17 http://www.amazon.com/Woodstock-D4151-220-Volt-Paddle-Switch/dp/B005W17FRS

u/some_random_kaluna · 2 pointsr/camaro

Buy a panoramic mirror and clip it on.

Here's a 11.75-inch version.

Here's the 17.75 inch version.

They'll take some getting used to, but once you do, you can see infinitely more behind you and to your left and right. I credit these mirrors with saving my life more than 10 actual times in all weather conditions. I won't drive any car without one now.

u/Pyroraptor · 2 pointsr/TeslaModel3

Really, the only thing I recommend you have on hand at the delivery is the screen protector. I bought this one and have been happy with it.

You probably also want to have some sort of USB storage device for your dashcam/sentry mode. This could be a USB thumbdrive, SSD, Harddrive, or SD card (with adapter). As long as it has a decent amount of memory and a decent read/write speed and is USB. You'll need to format it FAT32 for the car to recognize it.

As for other accessories, most people on here choose to wrap their center consoles. It comes with a piano black finish which looks really nice but scratches and shows fingerprints really easily. I suggest the Kenriko center console wraps. They have tons of colors/finishes from matte black to white, to carbon fiber.

After that it is up to you. There are TONs of products that you can use to modify your Model 3. Personal favorites of mine so far are the extra door seals that keep out dirt and slightly reduce wind noise. The aluminum pedals are a really nice touch if you don't have a performance model. All-weather floor mats are really nice. I have the 3D MaxSpider ones but I've heard really good things about the Tuxmats. The wireless chargers for your phone are a good accessory as well.

u/lowlyworm314 · 2 pointsr/driving

One thing you didn't mention that might be worth considering is one of those big, police style rear view mirrors:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B001A0J2JO/ref=pd_lpo_sbs_dp_ss_1?pf_rd_p=1944687622&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B0015FYQ90&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=1B3CNP4PMY6P8XDX2YQE

I've not tested one of these but it sounds worth at least considering given the circumstances you describe.

u/lindajm22 · 2 pointsr/subaru

I just got the same exact set today. I preferred the center cup holder mats that came in my Limited so I didn't use those two pieces. Did you use the two double stick pieces they provided? I used them for the back seat console because they would move around when you put the console up.

I also got this center console organizer from the same company and the orange matches. It's perfect! :

Not usually.

In NY state I have a restriction on my drivers license that says I have to be wearing my hearing aides or have a full length rear-view mirror (or blind-spot mirror).

When I first started driving I had one. I used to get reminded of it all the time because passengers would not realize and hit their head on it while getting in to my hatchback. It's really not a bad thing to have regardless of hearing impairment or not, you can see everything behind you.

u/einulfr · 1 pointr/CherokeeXJ

The soldering contacts eventually let go, it's fairly common. You can re-solder or just pick up a new one.

u/chessc · 1 pointr/melbourne

I recommend getting a wide angle rear view mirror. It's physically about twice as wide as a standard mirror, and it lets you see out of your side windows through your central mirror. The remaining blind spots are very small.

Got bored earlier today and was looking for the same thing. Found these liners on Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/Custom-Console-Liner-Acessories-Subaru/dp/B07MZ9TCYP) and they are pretty cheap and get good reviews. I ordered the red to match the stitching so it'll add a little color to the interior.

I have these on one side of my ac vents on the driver and passenger sides. They arent the greatest, but I can see enough if someone is next to me and I look over my shoulder to see if someone is in my corner panels. They hide when your vents are open.

Not sure they would help you comply with certain local laws as they aren't outside the body of the vehicle but I've yet to be pulled over for not having exterior mirrors.

Have the $1 eBay version of these:

Completely worth it.

I totally agree with you on the storage, I went this route (Catch Caddy 100-CC-MC24 Car Seat Catcher, Organizer https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0182QDLFE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_ilkxyb2S8TQME) on my 16 First with Recaros. Seems to work pretty well for phone and other small items, and keeping junk from falling down into the void. You can only really use the front portion however.

Mine was messed up when I purchased my unisaw. I'm pretty elecricaly savvy, and after looking into all the parts I needed, contactors, relays, flux capacitors, etc. I just canned it in favor of one of these

Simple, cheap and it works well. You just have to remember, if the power goes out, don't sit on the blade until the power comes back on--or just hit the off switch.

Just recently fixed 2 of the same problems on my 99. Could be similar fixes or you might have a bad wire somewhere.

I replaced the driver side window switch panel with this to fix the random passenger window not working problem. Easy swap, probably want to get some door panel trim clips too since they like to break when pulling the door panel.

Also had the whrrr sound from the rear passenger door lock and the power lock usually not work. Replaced the latch/actuator assembly in the door and it solved that problem. Probably best to find that from ebay or a junkyard.

First of all, nice job swapping IRS in to your '96

> I've had my Mustang long enough to see it go from "Oh my god, I can't see out of this thing!" to "Oh my god, it's so open and airy in here!"

I felt the same way initially with my Mustang, but then I installed this wide mirror. Works wonders on rearview visibility (just make sure to strengthen your rearview mirror's balljoint - it's a heavy mirror):

I've had these in my car for a while now and it's always interesting to pull them out and see what kind of treasures i've lost since the last time i checked.

u/mayor_ardis · -2 pointsr/bicycling

I have experienced many collisions with cars as a cyclist. Sometimes I have been nice and "let them off with a warning" so to speak. I have always ended up wishing I could hold those drivers accountable for my losses later, when the adrenaline wore off and I was feeling less charitable. You say your back wheel is rolling fine, but unless it's exactly as straight as it was before, you have experienced a loss. Your wheels, and your knees, only have so many hits in them. My advice if you experience a collision with a car:

Don't make any promises or definitive statements while under the effects of adrenaline. Qualify anything you say with vague statements about doctors or lawyars. Lawyers? Yawlerws? My spellcheck's busted. Damn noscript probably.

Definitely make them stop exactly where they are, put the car in park, and turn off the engine. If they don't do this when you tell them to, cut their tires to prevent hit-and-run with your handy carry knife. If you even let them pull off the road, they might just drive away and leave you holding the bill for your wheels, legs, frame, spine, helmet, and skull. You're allowed to use reasonable force to detain them while you gather their information or wait for police to verify their insurance status.

Once you have their driver's license, vehicle registration, and insurance card in your hand, let them drive off the road. Car people behind them are probably honking mad by now. How dare you inconvenience a car person! Car people are very important.

If they have those documents and everything looks legit, continue on your errand and call their insurance company at a time convenient for you. The driver will probably use this as a lesson to drive safer i.e. actually come to a stop where required, so they won't immediately need those documents. You can retain them for now.

If they are missing any of those documents, call the police (non-emergency) and get the driver checked for warrants and their insurance verified by a cop.

> But I wasn't prepared with the exact right words as I was all adrenaline and no brains. What should I have said?

It helps to have a script. I'm so used to yelling “you too” it's just instinct now. Your line after you drop your bike right in front of their car and walk up to the driver's window is “Put the car in park, please. Turn off the ignition. Put the car in park, please. Give me your license, turn off the ignition right now, please. Give me your license, your registration, and your insurance card.” If you have to repeat that more than a couple of times, start cutting rubber. In the comic book version, you'd already have your giant wrench you carry everywhere in your other hand and you'd be breaking glass too. In real life, I don't know how you'll feel telling a jury you were forced to dent every body panel and break every window and light on car, in order to prevent hit and run, because you felt threatened. We can dream, anyway. Cutting their tires actually makes them stop though, so that's clear cut self defense.

Ask them if they're still living at the address listed on the license, like a cop does. It freaks them out. Be wearing rear view aviators and a construction vest and be chewing gum for maximum effect.

And as always, if you feel threatened, do whatever you have to do to defend yourself. The roads should be a safe space.
