They were a 40$ investment. Very much worth it. The bottom rocker is glued onto my c5 and already broken on one side from a previous owner who lifted it wrong. I'm gonna have to find a way to make a new hole for it to reach to because the fiber glass broke there.
Edit: here is a links to the pucks if any other vette owners want some:

There is an arrow on the side for where to jack on the pinch weld.

I use these for supporting the pinch (0.39"): Jack Pad Pinch Weld Puck

I also use a Harbor Freight Jack and that works pretty well, especially for the price: 1.5 Ton Jack

In regards to where to place your jack points, there is a solid diagram to show you where to place your jack and stands: Diagram

First of, excellent choice of RV and truck.

I love my Andersen Magnetic Jack Blocks. You have the 6 point auto-leveling system from Lippert (Ground Control 3.0 I reckon) so you just attach these jack blocks to the round feet magnetically so you never have to 'center' the blocks when leveling.

LevelMate Pro is another item I have that I love. You can check if your level, side to side before even detaching. It's a must have as I shave a good 5-10 mins each time I setup and I'm always 100% perfectly level.

Purchase a Kingpin Lock for when your RV isn't hooked up to the truck so no one can steal it.

Purchase a regular lock to replace the lock pin on your 5th wheel hitch to prevent people from unhooking your RV when you're stopped. Yes, it's happened.

Consider getting the Furrion observation camera. Your RV is already pre-wired for it so it's crazy easy to install.

Which surge protector did you get? Progressive Industries makes really good units and they're quite popular.

Enjoy!

I have this one: https://www.amazon.com/LEAD-BRAND-Scissor-Capacity-Strength/dp/B07CZGTXYH/

It can be cranked up/down with a 17mm wrench or socket, turned with whatever you have in the garage (impact wrench) or whatever you carry in the car (handheld ratchet).

The wrench that came with the jack broke quickly but the jack itself doesn’t seem to have quality issues. However because that wrench is junk you’ll want to consider carrying something else to turn it with... still, it’s a thousand times easier to use even with a normal hand ratchet than the awkward crank bar that comes with most jacks.

Just for off-road. I used to keep it mounted in the back of the Jeep on the roll bar, but it rattled so much I would get annoyed driving on dirt roads. I think I can place a couple pieces of foam into the foot and mechanism to make it quiet, but I just decided to keep it off the vehicle when I'm not off roading instead. Less weight to carry around day-to-day.

Edit: I'll get around to priming it and putting some bedliner on it in the future to match the color. It's kind of expensive for what it is, but most of the jack mounts are $40-$150 so I guess it's within expectations. I liked this solution because I could use it on the roll bar inside or on the bumper. I had previously made some mounts out of u-bolt muffler clamps and wing nuts; those worked but was a pain to get the jack on and off so I gave up and went with this.

Do they have (or do you have) a set of lift point adapters?

There are lots of options, but the Model 3 has really tiny lift points and I wouldn't want the shop to try lifting without them.

I personally own and can vouch for the quality of the ReverseLogic ones, but when I bought them they were one of the only games in town. Today, I'd probably make the puck/3D printed knob ones myself, since I'm a hockey player and have the pucks laying around :)

It's the Harbor Freight knockoff of the OTC Racing Jack. I have the OTC one, I wouldn't trust the Harbor Freight jack to last very long.

I would add this one, which is essential if you need to lift the car: Jack Pad Tool

u/wwabc · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

maybe a regular jack, and you could wrap a tow strap around the post enough times:

It's a nice idea on paper, but I'll stick with the emergency kit that came with my car.

The emergency jack barely requires any muscle strength to operate, if a person can lift a kid they can jack their own car up, the jack already comes with a tire change kit by itself.

That leaves the seatbelt cutter, self jumper, and pump. which are pretty useful, but can be bought separately for less than what the entire kit entails.

Having "all in one" emergency tools isn't the greatest idea, the unit breaks and the 4 in 1 becomes a nothing in 1. The premise is gimmicky at best, dangerous at worst.

This particular tool reeks of Chinesium

Many cruiser pilots use hydraulic lifts, possibly combined with some kind of bike-specific adapter.

There are tons of variations, here's a dirt cheap one to illustrate what I mean https://www.amazon.com/VIVOHOME-Hydraulic-Motorcycle-Lift-1500Lb/dp/B0732WP8D9

Some bikes have a smooth bottom and a frame you can lift on without adapters too, not sure about yours. You do not want to be lifting on the oil pan, there has to be something lifting on the frame.

Hello! I am trying to get a portable jack just in case. I guess I figured something like this one would work?

https://www.amazon.com/TONDA-TON-Portable-Scissor-Jack/dp/B06Y65M2NS/ref=sr_1_7?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1537407080&sr=1-7&keywords=car+jack

Buy one of these and move their car out into the driveway. Call the management and have it towed.

I mean the pads like these ones: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PX213SG/ref=cm_sw_em_r_mt_dp_U_ZEgZCbR452RMV

I could bring it to any place in NYC, Wetschester, Putnam or Dutchess counties.

OP update: thanks for all of your comments and suggestions. SC performed a diagnostic this morning and gave the battery pack a clean bill of health. It's also worth noting that they originally quoted me $175 CDN to perform the diagnostic and ultimately did the work for free.

Honestly, I'd just pay the extra $800 and get this one. Or if you've got money to burn and want a really nice flush-mount option, there's this one

It has auto-safety locks every 3 inches, and the hydraulic system is integrated into one of the posts, so there are a lot less exposed lines for potential damage.

The only benefit I see with the one OP has is A) it's cheap B) it's "portable".

But honestly, who's going to be moving a lift like this around every day, and do you really want to cheap out on two of the most important safety and convenience features?

Hi-Lift makes adjustable mounts that work well:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003CEFJ2U/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use these to mount mine to my tire carrier (AEV Hardrock carrier) and they work great.

u/Wuwuhu · 1 pointr/BuyItForLife

If you are a very light user it will be an ok product. My bf is a hobby mechanic and he's won't even entertain the idea of this jack.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00336EN60/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Is a really life long abuse taking truck lifting beast with safety features.

u/Sadukar09 · 1 pointr/cars

Emergency jack isn't the safest thing to do it with.

You can buy a $25 jack and be much easier and safer to work with.

u/CJM8515 · 1 pointr/MechanicAdvice

As i said earlier: You are over thinking this. Google 2 ton jack and this is the result: https://www.amazon.com/Torin-T82012-Hydraulic-Trolley-Jack/dp/B0028JQYSS

You REALLY wanna trust that thing? Notice the one I linked earlier is a fullsize floor jack and the one I linked now is basically a last ditch effort type tool?

As I said earlier: The jack is ONLY lifting 1 corner or end at a time, thus not the entire curb weight of the vehicle.

u/fruitlewps · 1 pointr/sportster

I have one similar to this, but it seems that the kickstand and some other bit is in the way when I try to lift the bike with it, and I don't want to damage these parts ('16 883). Maybe i'm doing it wrong, I dunno, but I couldn't figure out any other way. This is the one I got: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000OCHCIW/

I have one exactly like the one you linked. Works great. Best $10 tool I ever bought. Never had an issue with it not working.

I have one of the cheap Harbor Freight 5-ton floor jacks. I've had it for 8 years and it just broke on me a few days ago. Not bad for a $60 jack that I use all the time.

I've decided to upgrade to this one, because it'll come in handy with my tractors and John Deere Gator:

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00336EN60/

TSC has the same jack for $150 right now, but less than $130 with free shipping is better. ;-)

Oh shit, I read scissor Jack, not Lift. Never mind...;-). Here’s a 7K one,

I do a lot of my own maintenance, and I had a craftsman jack for a while, but I just got this thing, and it is far and away 100 times nicer than that pile of shit I used to use. Avoid the jack stands with the lever you pull up to lower or raise the holds. These are much safer.
OTC jack with 2 stands
Pricey? Yep. Will it last? Most likely. Is it easy to use and pretty fucking cool? You bet.
