Try to get them sucking on bottles during takeoff and landing to pop their ears.

Most airlines will not let you sit next to each other because each row only has 1 extra oxygen mask. You'll probably want to split the contents of the diaper bag between your 2 carry ons.

Our twins were great, but make sure you have some benadryl just in case you have a hard time calming them down. That is if benadryl puts yours to sleep. It works on one of mine but makes the other wired.

I gate checked my stroller in one of these. That way I had it the maximum amount of time.

We also brought some yogurt bites and crushed them up so we could stick them to the pacifier. That helped to distract them when they started to get really upset.

We brought their blankets from their beds so they could snuggle up to something familiar to them. That also seemed to help.

That's all I can remember right now. Good luck and try not to worry too much. Anyone who is a parent will feel bad for you if the kids lose it and anyone who is annoyed can deal with it.

Our child has the opposite issue, he loves solid foods and hates slimy foods. Have you tried something like Gerber's Graduates (http://www.amazon.com/Gerber-Graduates-Crunchies-1-48-Ounce-Canisters/dp/B000MXHQTS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1452528757&sr=8-1&keywords=gerbers+lil+crunchies)

We started off with that because they are solid but literally melt in your mouth as soon as you put them in so it was a good transition for him.

Also on the teeth brushing, we face the same issue. It is near impossible to get him to brush and we have tried different ones like banana brush, curious george brush which he likes etc. Right now it is a daily struggle to get him to brush in the morning and night but it is important to keep trying.

For sometime we just let him roam around with a banana brush and he will just go around rubbing it around his mouth which is still better than nothing.

Another technique which we have had some success with is taking a picture/video of him brushing and showing it to him. This worked a couple of times where he tries to copy that but he likes phones/iPads so much that just becomes a distraction. Next we are thinking of printing it out and showing it to him.

You could also look at Rice Rusks if your little man has some teeth... my daughter loved these from about months 8-12.

Rice Rusks

They are nice because they dissolve really quickly - start with really small bits if you are nervous about them.

Have you tried any of the gerber puffs? Again - may or may not be ready QUITE yet - each kid is different... but those are great to help with those fine motor skills they will need to deal with more slippery solid foods.

Riddle the First: Wine
I’ve heard tell that wine can be paired with fruit and cheese. Because I’m a classy lady I would have no trouble substituting traditional cheese for some White Cheddar Cheez-its:

Riddle the Second: Broom
Do you know how dusty White Cheddar Cheez-its are? Of course I need a broom to keep my side of the dormitory clean!

I chose a muggle book of fiction I’ve wanted to read for a while now, The Windup Girl, by Paolo Bacigalupi. I’ll give you a prize if you can say “Bacigalupi” three times fast…

Cards Against Humanity would be stowed away in my trunk. What better way to learn about all my new housemates after sorting is complete?

For Bonus Points: Cape
I need variety! Why wear the same boring old cape day after day if I don’t have to? With Dancing Colors Scarves I could have a different colored cape, or a cape of many colors, anytime I pleased!

Thanks!

Yeah, I am looking at a Camelbak Marathoner. Searching around locally before I go online. It seems to have everything that I would need.

As for gels and the like, someone recommended trying these Peter Rabbit Organics Mango, Banana and Orange Snacks, 4-Ounce instead of gels.

Hey there! Yes, definitely...saying "environmental issues" is an understatement. Of the countless things I've tested for allergies, I'm only not allergic to tea. Everything else is toxic. For about 15 yrs, even touching water would rot away my skin. Last year, even on tons of immunosuppressants, allergy shots of environmental allergens (at 1/1000 th of lowest starting dose) I still started choking. Too much to go into here, but if you're interested, here's a few posts on my blog:

  • http://jeffreylin.net/about-2/

As for treatments, experimented with many ideas over the past 6+ years at Univ of Utah research hospital (also documented on blog & youtube). I'll be trying a experimental treatment in human trials that will turn off allergic reaction chain at source in immune system, but for now...

Idea has been to attack each step of allergic reaction chain, so the final reaction in skin, nervous system, organs, is a trickle of what it was before. Here's what worked (in reverse order, because yours isn't as severe, reverse order is safer...less risk)

  • Take several antihistamines. Body has 4 histamines, and each antihistamine only blocks 1 type, so u want to cover as many as possible. I take: cetirizine (Zyrtec), famotidine (Pepcid), and doxepin (prescription). Take before eating (or exposure to allergens, if you can)

  • Take Elecare (for infants) for food [ http://amzn.to/1eFAmW6 ] in case you're allergic to anything you're eating. You may not feel it, but food allergies will weaken your system, then you break out when something stronger affects you.

  • Gastrocrom (cromolyn). This thing has worked wonders for me, helped everything. Biggest factor in increasing my diet, reducing asthma, and even improving eyesight. Shortest side effects list i've ever seen. It's for mastocytosis...slows down mast cells, which produces histamines. Less histamines, less reaction usually. (though there are other things like eosinophils that can cause the inflammation and reactions) Again, take before eating.

  • Xolair (omalizumab). Neutralizes IgE, chemical signal to initiate allergic reaction (this is what I have waaaaaaayy too much of). I had to quit this, but everyone else that's tried Xolair because of me are almost 100% healthy. Expensive, and even with insurance, usually need asthma diagnosis to get it.

  • Immunosuppressants. I use cyclosporine. Used cellcept before, but caused neurological probs. Doubt you need any immunosuppressants though, and they're very toxic. Shouldn't be on tehse for more than a few months, but I've been on cyclosporine for 6+ years. Tons of dangerous side effects.

Thanks for the question. Hope I've helped a bit.
