I've had KP since I was a kid and am finally getting handle on it in my 30s. My current routine is glycolic lotion twice a day, creams on the affected areas 3-4 times a day, and then physical exfoliation and using zinc or sulfur soap a couple times a week to keep the bumps at bay. But since skincare is YMMV, here's the exhaustive list of almost two decades of treatment, in case some of these other things will work for you!
100% of the items can be purchased via Amazon in the US - it's pretty much the only way I shop.
Beginner Level
If your KP has just appeared, focus on physical+chemical exfoliation and moisturizing. Look for lotions with the following ingredients:
Paula's Choice and Derma Doctor's KP duty both work well because they combine a few of these, but you can also get Amlactin, Eucerin and Glytone which are more focused on a single ingredient. Nearly all of the Eucering, Gold Bond, Cetaphil, etc. creams that work have one of the above ingredients, so take a look at the back of the bottle or on CosDna to figure out what works best for you. Prescription creams include Carmol 40 and Ammonium Lactate in higher concentrations.
Physical exfoliation includes:
My dermatologist also recommended moisturizing CONSTANTLY, which really helped smoothe my arms. According to his instructions, "constantly" meant that I needed to be able to feel the lotion on my skin 24/7 for at least 3 weeks, which for me meant a new layer of cream every hour or two. Pretty much any moisturizing lotion or cream will do. I'm partial to [CeraVe Moisturizing Cream] (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B013GDK3SQ/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) (creams are less watered down than lotions, and this one drys down wonderfully, leaveing my skin feeling buttery but not sticky). Lush dream cream and Aveeno are also faves.
Intermediate Level
If a bit of exfoliation and moisture aren't working, you might want to consider if there are other skin conditions making your KP worse. For example, it turned out for me I had some fungal skin issues that made my KP bumps more inflamed. Topical steroids can help, but use with care as they can cause skin thinning. Try adding something with the following ingredients in to see if any of the following work. Also talk with your derm about getting a mild prescription treatment that might include an antibacterial or steroid component.
As others have mentioned, sunlight also helps. Either give yourself 15 minutes of sun a day or look into UV treatments.
Finally, consider dietary factors – for me cutting out dairy, sugar, and gluten when I really want crystal clear skin makes a big difference. Adding healthy oils and fats to your diet can also improve skin quality.
Advanced Level
I not only have KP, but years of scarring and redness (Post Inflammatory Erythema, or PIE) from picking at the bumps when I was younger. Laser treatments have almost 100% gotten rid of this and made my arms the smoothest and clearest they've been in almost two decades. However, these are pricey (for me, ~$200 a treatment and it took 4) and a serious time commitment. But if nothing else works, consider it.
Other Tips
Don't worry, there's an off brand.

It's fine on my body. My legs love it. It's way less sensitive than my face skin. I put it in one of these washcloth pockets:

and it foams up awesome
I've seen small microfiber rounds that seem perfect for your wishes. I've seen them at various big box stores and the dollar store.
They look exactly like this but much cheaper.
Which salt scrub? I rotate these:

Hey I was just going to say...I, too, have very dry areas on my face, to the point my skin starts peeling. And I also have to be careful what kind of exfoliator I use bc they can be too harsh and make my skin break out. I found two scrubs on Amazon that have a smaller, finer “grain”...PLUS, they help even out your skin tone, brighten up your skin, and actually help keep it moisturized too. And they honestly aren’t expensive (especially since you’re not supposed to do it more than 3 times a week...max...so it can last a good long time).
I have used both and can attest to both being amazing. This brand also makes five other scrubs...the Himalayan Salt Scrub should NOT be used on your face but I do like it for small areas on my body (it can sting if you have any tiny cuts or sensitive areas tho). The other four from them (Spirulina, Brown Sugar, Charcoal, and Coffee), I have not tried.
Pomegranate Scrub
Coconut Scrub
If you ever decide to try any of these out, I hope they really help! I know how hard it is to get dry skin under control...
Edit: words bc it’s late lol
I want to try this coffee scrub to hopefully help with some scarring and skin issues I have.
Thanks for the contest!
I used to have the same issue! Now whenever I shave, I use a body scrub and a shaving cream. I’ll link what I use. (Plus, I have really thick hair and I like wearing shorts and skirts, so I pretty much have to shave everyday)

Yes, there are body scrubs specifically targetted towards men, like this. The only difference it has with women's is the labeling, you can find women's scrub(or non-gendered ones) with the exact same ingredients. This article gives some recommendations for body scrubs for different skin types. You can look up other recommendations on other sites, whether it is diy or premade, or just look at the description of the scrub since they'll say which skin type they're formulated for.
and np!
Might be a little late but I had really bad acne for a kid and still would as an adult if I didn’t adopt a strict skincare routine and diet (it’s not that bad). Drinking water and changing your pillowcases frequently (every week to two weeks) also will help especially if you start putting all this product on your face. see note at the end*
For some, cutting out either, some, or all of the following helps alleviate acne: Dairy, Oil, Sugar, Gluten. But since you said you had no changes in diet I won’t go into that. Sorry in advance for formatting errors as I did all of this from mobile. Some products have instruction in Korean but I will tell you how to use them. Everything is used everyday/every night unless specified.
*Note: you may need to slowly introduce these products. Most of them are geared toward moisturizing and preventing aging as well. If you do anything, I’m at least recommend exfoliating often, changing pillow cases and properly moisturizing your skin using the sheet masks as well as possibly vitamin E serums. I plan on getting some but have no money rn, but Belei sent me free samples and I loved it. I think The Ordinary also carries some. Also, properly washing your face will probably help as well, and I’d recommend getting at least a spin brush. Over rubbing your face can be harmful to the skin and skin brushes usually clean well enough without harm.
I hope this helps! This is my whole routine but if anything jumps out feel free to not look at everything! I’m of course not a dermatologist but this helped me and I now only get pimples usually if I eat excess of the previously mentioned triggers :) my skin is now brighter and dark spots clear up in about 2-3 months but are usually lighter after about two weeks.
This works wonders for me! I use it on the back of my arms too. Keeps those bumps away! Alba Botanica ACNEdote Face & Body Scrub, 8 Ounces Tube https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00KL4ES5S/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_nawIzb956MGPB
It is most probably a vetiver bath scrub... made out of the roots of vetiveria plant.
Check this out for comparison... At first it must be rough to use but, Since yours is very old and overused it felt soft i guess... the wax thing is, maybe to hold the roots together...
Earlier it is uncommon and a bit rare to buy, thanks to online shopping...
So there are a couple things you may want to give you mom from my mothers day idea list. This is a mocha sugar scrub, a dauchund ceramic bowl (we're a doxie family), and nice coffee is always a winner too!
Actually, here is a better link on Amazon for them. The one I linked you to cost $23.00 for some reason. Definately look around before you buy them, this one is $13.89 for the exact same thing.
Actually I didn't crop anything out, but good try. You can go look at the page now and see nothing is cropped
I place a plastic storage bin to stand in while I shower. I use a pumice stone to remove loose skin that is peeling. Slather up with a petroleum base jelly A&D, Bag Balm, or https://www.amazon.com/MG217-Psoriasis-Treatment-Conditioning-Multi-Symptom/dp/B007D6C156.
Apply your zinc oxide wrap and

Then put my socks on. In the mornings I pull the plastic off put socks on and wear the wrap all day.
Daily:
splash my face with cold water
Morning wash my face with Garnier Cleanser followed by Toner, Renewal Serum, then I massage my face & massage in moisturizer, followed by some (mostly for the smell) aftershave, and I massage my hairline with Vitamin E Oil, & after it feels like my face has absorbed it, i usually start applying sun protection for eyes and then the rest of my face & neck, exposed skin (arms, legs, etc) protection and hands
while at night, i take a shower (usually after a bit of exercise) and cleanse my face with cleanser lotion and my with a good body wash and follow later on (usually before i go to sleep) with another facial cleansing using the Garnier pure essentials & then some night cream
and I usually repeat this routine daily with the exceptions that I don't put the sun protection on when I won't be going outside in the day-time and I usually skip it all one day out of every week to let my skin rest
Non-daily:
On top of that, I usually try to shave facial hair every few days. I start by putting a hot rag over my face, then I use a cotton ball to rub on baby oil
and I exfoliate once a week (my body & my face) using a good facial exfoliating scrub that's either L'Oreal or the Body Shop and I use the same scrubber from the L'Oreal one for both
and scub my body with one of three scrubs using exfoliating gloves
after exfoliating my face, I usually follow with a moisturizing mask (using Honey, Fresh Lemon Juice, and Whole Wheat Flour) & I usually try to do it on the beginning of the week (Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday) so I can follow 3 days later with another one. If on Sunday, then I follow on Wednesday with a non-homemade mask and I try to follow at the end of the week (Thursday, Friday, or Saturday) with a 2nd homemade mask (Using caramel, baking soda, an egg yolk, whole milk, and 100% cocoa powder)
then, I usually moisturize my face and my body. I also try to moisturize my body at least once a week (sometimes more) by taking a bath using 2-cups of milk, fresh lemon juice (1/2 - 1 whole lemon), sometimes some honey, and specially formulated bubble bath.
I try to mix this with a relatively regular exercise schedule (cardio around 5 days a week (I'm researching different weigh-lifting regimens & Yoga & Calisthenics to add to this)) & a balanced diet (alot of fiber, fruit (daily), lots of water, vegetables when I can (salads, veggie sandwhiches when I can (I might start drinking a daily V8 for more)), White & Green Tea daily, limited sweets (usually just a nutrigrain when I do))
So, if you've actually read to this point I salute you. My question is if there's anything generally wrong with this routine (other than price & the fact that it shows my level of OCD)
