Instead of shouting at your phone, why not get a cheap bluetooth shutter?
OP delivers (almost):
If you do have a D3400 (not a D3500 like what's in your link), you can get an IR remote trigger with a built-in intervalometer to trigger it for timelapses.
The wireless remotes I am referring to are completely automated intervalometers.
I have the Pixel FSK which currently costs $30 on Amazon. It allows me to set completely arbitrary exposure times, and Intervals. It also allows a delay to be set on the interval, and intervals to be repeated.
E.g. I could program it to start shoot a series of 10 photos with a 15" exposure and zero delay between captures every 5 minutes starting half an hour from now. It can automate bulb exposure and can do exposures as long as you want.
There are also plenty of tethered software options that could allow you to program completely arbitrary exposure values as well.
I wrote this guide for better nude and erotic mobile photography a couple years ago, and even though you’re talking about a DSLR camera, many of the tips are more than applicable. Enjoy, and have fun!

Updates:
I've been doing astro for 1.5 years and i started on my GH5. You want something with an interval timer function, because you will definitely want to stack images at some point, even though you have a tracker. I use this. It's really great for the price, and it's wireless. Trust me.
Edit: i would also encourage you to use the mechanical shutter as i believe you lose dynamic range with the electronic shutter. Why do you wnat to use the electronic shutter in the first place?
Get a mini tripod/camera mount and a Bluetooth camera shutter button.
I generally start out with an ISO of 50 and have an extended shutter open for highways and car lights (6 seconds)
The others were 30 seconds.
I also make sure to have the Save in RAW option enabled and edit them in lightroom.
The bluetooth shutter button helps keep the camera stable since you don't have to tap on the screen.
Unfortunately for me, it was pretty windy last night so a lot of my shots were too blurry. I went from 141 pictures down to these 11.
You need an intervalometer. Nikon doesn't make an official one for your camera, so you need to get a third party one. I would not spend more than ~$30 on one.
I just got the cheapest one I could find and its worked fine for me. There are several other models on amazon like this one or this one that have slightly better ratings.
SHOOT RR-90 LCD Timer Remote Shutter Release Controller Cord Trigger Time-lapse Photography Device for Fuji RR-90 Fujifilm X-T1 X-M1 X-A1 X-A2 Camera https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00Q5VEC8Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_pbm2AbKVQKSZ9
I’ve also owned this one (except it was for my canon dslr). This is probably my favorite. A tad bulkier than the one I’m using now but it feels good in the hand, has the same slide to lock feature, has an lcd screen (that displays the count of your shutter when engaged) and can be set to interval shooting (useful for time lapses). If you’re willing to spend a little extra and don’t mind the slightly bigger size I definitely say get this one!
I have a Fintie Bluetooth Wireless Multimedia Remote Music Control Camera Shutter for iOS and Android Smartphones Tablets - Black that works fine for that. Great if I use headphones without inline controls, or if the phone is charging and I'm not near it.
This is what you are looking for.

Had you seen their wifi thermostat?:

It is more expensive than the kit /u/amstupid linked to, but may offer the features you are looking for.
To piggyback on what /u/TripleDsinThisBitch said, you can buy a bluetooth shutter control as well. Something like this
Yea, I was thinking this shutter remote, and I already have a nice tripod. Are there any other scope illuminators that can be bought? I don't have easy access to a 3D printer. Also, do I need to get a ball head? I typically shoot film, so I just have this video tripod head. Any ball head's you would recommend?
I use this one from Pixel. It's not tied to my phone, but I don't mind that since I can use it wired or wireless. It has multiple options from bulb, to time lapse.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01IJPG6MS/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1497026559&sr=8-6&pi=AC_SX236_SY340_QL65&keywords=intervalometer+nikon+d810&dpPl=1&dpID=51zdbGZLyHL&ref=plSrch
bluetooth is 2-way, it has to connect to the phone before it can tell it to take a photo. otherwise you'd force every phone within broadcast range to take a photo every time you press the button. and devices have to identify themselves in order to establish a connection, so the remote should be able to detect the OS and send the correct command (or just send both). other remotes make it work with a single button
https://www.amazon.com/JJC-TM-M-Timer-Remote-Control/dp/B008XW7T8I
It is this one, I know the delay feature between shots. Any exposure time over 59 seconds it ignores the time I put in for the interval and does 99 hours and 58 minutes.
I can personally recommend the Pixel remote intervalometer. Its pretty much straight from china but it's fantastic for the price.
Get a remote like this and set your camera to bulb mode, then you can set an exposure time up to 100 hours on the remote.
It's one of these: REALVOX Mini Bluetooth Remote Controller For VR Virtual Reality 3D Video Movie Game Glasses, Portable Multi-functional Wireless Bluetooth Android Gamepad Camera Shutter Selfie Shutter, Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01CVVMFIU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.mdFybD3KPDQM
Not game specific but it's meant to be used with a phone that has Bluetooth.
I love shooting long exposure. I am a bit new at photography but I'll throw in my 2 cents. I use a Nikon D5500 so there are probably a few differences that you'll have to consider.
First of all as mentioned by others you need to reduce wobble in your tripod. Some tripods have hooks on the bottom so you can add some weight to help with steadying. I use a cheap tripod and haven't really had much of an issue with wobble especially if I keep it low to the ground.
Next invest in a shutter remote This was hands down the best decision I made for taking long exposures. It keeps you from having to press the shutter button which causes shake.
And as ReVerthex mentioned the D5200 doesn't have a mirror lockup feature which isn't 100% necessary but it does help. I found that this helps much more in macro photography because having the camera still is super crucial when your doing macro shots. Long exposures not so much.
YES! I did this! I loved it! This is the 2-inch-long "clicker" I used - It's actually a tiny Bluetooth gamepad that's wireless but charges via USB. And it's less than $10.

For all of you using timers/tripods a wireless shutter release like this might be easier. http://www.amazon.com/FotoTech-FTML-L3-Wireless-Shutter-Release/dp/B00F5JV4NS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405961773&sr=8-1&keywords=remote+shutter+release
There's also the option of using a cheap bluetooth remote shutter release device. On my Moto XT1806 it works reliably with one click for the native camera app. The Open Camera app requires two clicks for some reason. But it still works reliably.
I don't know if they are the "best" but there are many cheap ones available:

Here’s a guide I give to people not necessarily about posting, but about taking photos. It does however include details on anonymity and such:

This appears to be your only option.
It seems this device can do what you want to do. The remote device connects to and controls a music player via AVRCP, and the music player will stream music to headphones via A2DP.
Bluetooth controller, perhaps.

NOTE: I haven't tried this personally.
I bought this remote last year and it goes several weeks of light use before it needs to be recharged.
I would try an IR remote before anything else. They are cheap and it should work with the T6.

This is the one I bought and it works okay. From like 10-20 feet away it works well and it's really convenient to keep in a camera bag
This is what I have:
If you already have a wireless remote in the mail, then you probably don't need two. Make sure the one you already bought lets you program the delay, exposure time, and number of shots to take and you'll be set.
It's strange that it doesn't say anything about that shutter working with Sony cameras on amazon. I'm sure that it works with the a3000, because I just used it last night. Maybe the seller changed something in the last year....
If I were to buy another one, I'd get something like this. Being 100% wireless means that the cord won't jiggle your camera, which will blur long-exposure pictures.
