Awww. My old lady gets around much better with her meds, too.

I also bought her these foam steps on Amazon. They are foam, so soft on kitty feet and gentle on humans who might kick or run into them, have a removeable, washable cover, and come in a lot of different colors/designs. We have the bigger 4 step set in our bedroom so she can get on the bed, too.

You're welcome! I also bought this K&H Pet Products Self-Warming Crate Pad Medium Mocha 21" x 31" https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003ZYF1QQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_eVW6CbZSQEG6R

My kitty got old so I got her foam steps so she can get up on the bed. (My pugs are still very young.) The pet steps might be able to help your guy. They're not too squishy for a pug I think and the little bit of squish is gentle on joints.

How about you clip her nails so that she is not making so much noise?

As for beds, I have this one from Amazon. I would not say it's particularly durable (it's just some fabric over a sheet of foam) but it does have the advantage of being smooth with no seams or texture to grab onto. Our puppy ripped apart a few other dog beds that had a texture to them (e.g. the fleece kind).

You could also try using a towel or two as bedding... again, not sure if that's the kind of thing your dog would tear up but at least there is no stuffing to make a mess.

Finally have you tried using a bitterant / taste deterrent? E.g. Bitter Apple, or original flavor Listerine?

You could try something like this:

No worries about electricity or burning etc. And pretty darn cheap too!

I recently got this top-entry litter box cover for my cat, and it's been the best. It's much better looking than what I was using before and reduces litter tracking a bit since a lot of the sand falls off when the cat jumps out on the top of the box. You use a high-walled plastic sterilite container inside, so there's no possibility of a mess. (And since you have a dog, it'll keep the dog out of the litter box as well.)

Also, I assume you probably already have one since you're a cat owner, but if you don't, and since you'll be living in a small space, I'd definitely recommend the Litter Genie to go with it.

Good luck with the move!

4 Step Portable Pet Stairs By Majestic Pet Products Black Links Steps for Cats and Dogs https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00OJQ9WX2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Xx9uDbW4V7CJG

It's pricy but it's nice and soft and the cover is easy to clean.
