If OP is worried about this happening again (because people are nosy) they could consider getting a screen cover. I used to use one if I took my laptop to a coffee shop so people wouldn't see me writing sex scenes and freak out. They're pretty affordable and easy to find online. Example of what I'm talking about.

Not saying OP should have to hide what they're doing on their computer, just if they want to it's an option.

Warning- it DOES degrade image quality (it is slightly less sharp, and there is a bit of grain. When I look at a solid color close up, there is some "artifact"). I of course am perfectly happy with the tradeoff, but I did start off with a 2k resolution screen. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01C66KA7I/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I asked this question a while back and got no response.. I'll save you the trouble - This one works quite well and they give you two screen protectors in the pack. Let me know what you end up settling on

Try to disconnect any type of connectors you don't necessarily need to complete POST and get a working signal to your screen. Things like USB, HD-Audio, RESET-SW etc. could be faulty and could get the pc stuck in a reset-loop. Try to remove 1 DIMM at a time and switch the channel they're inserted on to rule out damage to the DIMM-Slots. Check if your cables are working or if the display is broken, try different ones.

What kind of PSU are you using? Does it have enough power for your system? have you tested it with a PSU-Tester ?

If all fails it might be a good idea to get a PCIe POST Reader to check if your system completes POST

EDIT: After looking at your photo again it looks like there is a single DVI-port in the top left corner, try to connect your screen to this one and check whether the BIOS is set to use onboard graphics

Generally speaking, aftermarket cables do present a risk compaired to the standard ones the unit comes with. However, if the cables are explicitly made to be compatible with your particular unit, I wouldn't worry.

If it makes you feel any better, you can go and buy a power supply tester like this. They're not terribly expensive, after all.

I really like ArmorSuit's screen protectors. They 'heal' from scratches, its pretty nifty. They are a little more involved to install, requiring you to use their installation spray (included) & more expensive, but they've impressed me so far.

I mine only ETH because dual mining consumes more power and like I said I had some negative experience with burning PSUs. Now I have platinum 1200w PSUs for each rig (I have 5 RX470 x 6 rigs, 1 RX470 x 5 rig, and 1 GTX1070 x 6 rig).. so 41 GPUs in total. The GTX1070 rig costed about 4100 USD in total while RX470 rigs about 2000 USD each.

Its risky to build a new rig now (especially nvidia), but if ETH price does not crash then you are likely to repay the investment within one year probably.

I have a watt meter, multimeter and PSU tester (this one). Also, since I am in Europe my voltage is 230volts, not sure if this makes any real difference against USA 120v.

There's also screen protectors like this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000QR5ZBQ

Yeah Bezels are considered old fashioned these days, so there's a lot of mobile pc's without them on the market.

By tabs, I mean the little hard plastic adhesive things that hold the protector onto the monitor, but with no bezel you wouldn't be able to use that. Maybe there's a giant protector out there that just 'sticks' to the monitor like a cell phone.

Actually they do have these.

I kind of went on a tangent about tabs in my last comment, my mind was focused on those big privacy /anti-glare screens you put on desktop monitors. So forget all that, sorry.

Maybe you could trim something like in that amazon link.

Also, if you're going to be working with a stylus for a prolonged period of time, you might also like the stylus glove. I've used that for a little whiteboard I had when studying math, it works pretty well.

Did they update to Windows 10 yet? In the notification area there is “night mode” on my personal windows 10 pro laptop, unsure if it’s enabled for Windows 10 Enterprise.

If the comm desk doesn’t approve, then maybe this is a good shot. It’s just like a privacy filter, albeit for eye strain. Worth a shot. I did a little bit of research to see if anyone even makes a matte screen protector for the Studio. I found a couple on Amazon, one of course doesn’t have any reviews, and the other is a bit mixed, neither mention anything about using the Surface Pen or any other stylus. Unfortunately, looking on Google wasn’t really much help either.

Maybe you can find the same protectors (from the same brands) for other devices and see what people are saying about them.

Edit: I should also probably chime in that matte screen protectors do affect the screen quality and colors, probably a reason why a lot of people don’t really use it on the Studio. I personally wouldn’t bother getting one if I had a Studio (hopefully someday!), but I think its a must on tablets.

Found this on Amazon, no idea if it's the right size, price, or any good.

LMAO.

I seriously can't stop fucking laughing, kek.
You need to turn the screen on, brah, or buy one of these Anti Glare(Matte) Screen Protector.

u/cr0sh · 1 pointr/Justrolledintotheshop

Something like this might be a more cost effective option; basically the same stuff as you put on a phone, just larger:

https://www.amazon.com/Protector-Widescreen-Desktop-Monitor-ViewSonic/dp/B072MRFCWW/

Heck - you might look into also some of those protective films used by glass companies; though I don't know how easy they are to remove and replace.

This is the one I got:

Bio-Kleen M01709 Waste Holding... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07L6M761C?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

Good fit, definitely antiglare, screen clarity still looks good.

How did you connect the drives to the motherboard? Did you check if the drives start spinning? Sounds like there is something wrong with the psu. Are the fans turning?

Get yourself one of these to test the psu:
