Well, therein may be the problem. Here in KC, The Stuff is a dressing served over salads in one of our finer pizza joints. Next time try some real BBQ from Q39, Joe's KC, or Smokehouse. If you do happen to go to Smokehouse, I highly recommend the Burnt Ends platter or the Gladstoner sandwich.

I'm also a lunch salad lover. I've been really into soy sesame ginger dressings-like this one from Trader Joes http://www.amazon.com/Trader-Joes-Sesame-Ginger-Vinaigrette/dp/B0071QTGDI
They are usually way lower in calories and a little bit goes a long way. I buy a bag of coleslaw mix and add diced chicken, cilantro and green onions and almonds and its awesome. The cabbage stays nice and crunchy

Head down to the grocery store and grab some Maille seeded mustard. It's cheap (though not so much in that amazon link, I usually pay like a third of that), and it seems to be available worldwide.

Goes really well on basically any meat.

Also, Hot English. Soooo good.

u/UnblurredLines · 4 pointsr/fatlogic
u/bungwu · 3 pointsr/ketorecipes

I replaced the Bisquick with:

 1/2 cup Almond Flour
 1.5 tsp Baking Soda
 Pinch of Salt

And the 1 cup of milk with Almond Milk

Also, this ketchup tastes amazing.

It didn't come out perfect, but it was good enough.

u/danhuss · 3 pointsr/dogecoin

I've become a big fan of Cookie Butter. They do have one with "Nutella" but that one is not as good as real Nutella.

u/FarWorseThanExpected · 3 pointsr/todayilearned

I'm not MuffinPuff, but I do love mustards...

Generally speaking, mustard is mustard. That said, there are, of course, a wide variety of mustards. Potted meat sandwiches are improved with the use of pretty much any sort, but I'm going to give some recommendations anyway!

Most prepared yellow mustards are quite similar, but if you want (what I consider to be) the best yellow mustard, you want Plochman's. If you can find it at your local grocer it will cost much, much less than the amazon price. $2 a bottle, if that.

Brown mustard is a bit spicier than yellow, due in large part to both the increased volume (and coarser grind) of the mustard seed. Where brown mustard is concerned I consider Gulden's to be one of the best readily available brands. Practically every grocery store carries this stuff, and it's inexpensive.

Now, there are tons of other varieties of mustard out there, but I'm only going to cover one last type: Honey Mustard. This stuff is good on almost anything, blending the spiciness of mustard with the sweetness of honey. If I can find it, I prefer to use Deitz & Watson Zesty Honey Mustard. This shit is beyond words good. It can be tough to find in a grocery store, but if the store's deli carries Deitz & Watson lunch meats, then the chances of finding it are vastly improved. It won't be in the condiments section, but rather near the deli case, usually in a dedicated display along with other condiments from D&W. Again, you'll pay much less for this stuff, compared to the amazon price, if you can find it at a grocery store. I think I usually pay $3.50 for a bottle.

Enjoy!

Saltines + Canola Oil + Red Pepper Flakes + Ranch Dressing Mix, shake them together in a bag, you're welcome.

u/sterling_mallory · 2 pointsr/Cooking

Sounds like you're looking more for traditional, sinus clearing hot mustard as opposed to anything with capsaicin. In that case you want this stuff: https://www.amazon.com/Zakuson-ZAKUSON8-8-Gourmet-Mustard-Hot/dp/B003LYSTBO

I've tried a lot of mustards, but that one's by far the hottest.

For something hot but not quite as hot, and with really good flavor:

Another good choice is Colman's which you can find in jars at most grocery stores, Walmart, etc.

u/weimarunner · 2 pointsr/artc

Holy yum. Definitely do the brussels sprouts. I like coleslaw with ribs/bbq, but you should definitely have sauerkraut and a good spicy german mustard for the brats.

u/pleasedothenerdful · 2 pointsr/mildlyinfuriating

Trader Joe's Nutella/Cookiebutter blend is where it is actually at my d-man. The jar is empty by the end of the day you open it.

We went to Australia on our honeymoon and loved, loved it. One thing I missed and maybe you could use more of or I'm just being an American about is Heinz Ketchup. We tried lots of good food but the ketchup just never tasted right.

For Me? Candy. I miss the chocolates, anything is fine. If you do however still have those Hazelnut Snickers, I would love some of those.

Thanks!

u/gtfolmao · 2 pointsr/fitmeals

Asian salad? Idk. Grilled chicken marinated in garlic and soy sauce, on salad w/ lettuce, red onion, clementines/oranges, slivered almonds and Trader Ming's Sesame Soy Ginger Dressing ($1.50 at Trader Joe's but this was the only link I could find!)

Nut free trail mix

Probably cheaper alternatives somewhere or you can build your own by purchasing the ingredients, in bulk, separately.

Pumpkin seeds too.

Potatoes are fairly calorie dense. I love homemade fries(with skin) with any variety of vegan mayo for dipping. (100 calories per tbsp, not the healthiest but calorie dense as fuck)

u/just_some_Fred · 1 pointr/nfl

This is why Oregon is better than California, at least our expensive hipster ketchup is actually good. Like really good too, even though I feel like I'm abandoning my working-class roots every time I make fries.

u/ellefemme35 · 1 pointr/Keto_Food

If you’re getting an immersion blender, it’s the way to go. I have two since I use them so much. They also make hollandaise sauce a breeze! Let me know how it goes for you when you try it!

I’m not a huge ketchup fan, either, but this stuff changed my opinion.

u/YumeMaker · 1 pointr/tonightsdinner

Honestly, I've never heard of thousand island dressing being called pink stuff. Around here pink stuff comes from a local pizza place, but you can buy it on Amazon, too.

http://www.amazon.com/Pizza-Shoppe-Creamy-Garlic-Dressing/dp/B0098BP2UK

u/Seventh7Sun · 1 pointr/AskMenOver30

Agreed as far as regular ketchup goes. I have a hardcore conservative buddy who refuses to purchase anything Heinz due to some political thing or something. He always has Hunts. Needless to say he no longer has BBQ hosting privileges.

If you ever get a hankering for something a little different as far as ketchup goes, give Portland Ketchup a try. VERY good stuff.

u/infinitetbr · 1 pointr/mildlyinteresting

It's only about $20 in the US!

u/Big_Chief_Wah_Wah · 1 pointr/AskUK

You can buy Mcdonalds mayonnaise online, they do their mayo and ketchup in big bottles in the shops in Germany and Malta (maybe more countries too).

Price on Amazon seems a bit steep though, it's about 2 euro a bottle in German stores.

I Smell Bacos Imitation Pork Product!

u/killdeviljill · 1 pointr/AskCulinary

Just in case the reason you aren't using wasabi paste or powder is because you're not aware of it, it's cheap and easy to find in most US grocery stores (on the "International Foods" aisle) and on Amazon. This one appears to have no wheat in it (though I don't have celiac so I don't know if there are non-obvious wheat/gluten-y ingredients there).

If you've considered that and it doesn't work for you for whatever reason, apologies.

u/barking-chicken · 0 pointsr/ketorecipes

I'm a snacker. I sit at my desk all day and I find that they day goes by easier if I have a snack a few times a day. So I really like almonds. I've seen a lot of raves about Blue Diamond almonds on /r/keto, but I loathe to pay nearly $4 for a small can (about 1 cup) of almonds.

I went to Sam's Club and found a 9 cup of raw almonds for $16 bucks ($1.80/cup). I decided I wanted to experiment with recipes for them, and these are the results.

Each whole recipe is 3g net carbs or less and 140 or fewer calories. I'm fairly sure I'll eat each recipe in 2-3 sittings.

Directions for all:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Add almonds and oil to a bowl, stir with hands until almonds are thouroughly coated with oil.

  3. Mix spices in another bowl until well blended.

  4. Add spices a little at a time to the bowl of almonds and toss them until the almonds are coated in the spices to your satisfaction. You might try one of the almonds to see if the amount of spice is to your liking. Remember that the seasoning will be less strong after being roasted. If you think the seasoning is too strong add a bit more almonds and re-toss until the coating has transferred onto them a bit.

  5. Put almonds in a single layer on a baking pan and put them in the oven for 6 minutes (Note: I tried different timings and 6 minutes seemed right for my oven. The Chipotle Cumin almonds in the picture were baked at 8 minutes and they came out a bit too done for my tastes. YMMV, so keep an eye on them.)

  6. When you take them out of the oven let them cool before putting them in the storage container. I put them in a metal collander so I could re-use the pan on the next batch and it worked well.

    Chipotle-Cumin Almonds

    Ingredients:

  • 1 cup raw almonds
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt (I like kosher salt)
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp chipotle chile pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder

    Ranch-Mustard Almonds

    Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1.5 tsp Hidden Valley Ranch Dressing/Dip Mix
  • 1.5 tsp Ground Mustard Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt

    BBQ Almonds

    Ingredients:

  • 1 cup almonds
  • 2 tsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Salt (I used Lowrey's)
  • 1/4 tsp Splenda
  • 1/4 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Chili Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Mustard Powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground Cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 tsp Jalapeno Salt (optional)
