My exact experience too, although thankfully I bought 2 pairs. They are the most comfortable pants I've ever worn! Thankfully you can still buy them on Amazon (and I did buy one more pair) for about the same price ($5 more.)

Shop around. Amazon and other retailers jack the price up when Costco stops carrying them for the year. They always come back though.
Since your size is that big, those Amazon purchases are probably fine. Double pleated pants are generally really baggy, but they should be fine for you since you're a bigger guy.

Hey friends, I am a medical student and am in need of some new dress pants for practice patient interviews. Our syllabus says "dress slacks" should be worn with a tie and dress shirt. I'm not exactly sure what that means. I've been looking at some mostly cotton pants on amazon that look alright ("Goodthreads" brand - link) I'm concerned that these wouldn't be "dressy" enough. I've also looked at some polyester pants, but those seem more like they should be worn with suits. So I guess I'm just looking for some suggestions on budget (sub $60 if possible) pants that would look good and also be comfortable. I'm a skinny dude and like the look of slim fit pants on myself.
Edit - My shoes are brown if that makes any difference
I've been on a four work trips with my Rucker 25L and one with my GR2 40L. Each trip was flying in Monday and flying out Friday afternoon.
For the Rucker trips, I didn't take my laptop (I took a different bag the first week and left it up there), but I imagine the experience would have been the same with a laptop in a GR1.
For every trip I packed my clothes inside Eagle Creek compression packing cubes. I love these things because you can either compress them if you're not carrying much, or leave them open for big cubes.
I wore one set of clothes and packed one extra pair of pants and two more of everything else. Everything was synthetic or merino wool. I washed clothes with Dr. Bronners in the hotel sink twice (except pants, which I just alternated). The key to fitting everything is lightweight travel pants. I live by these UBTech Travel Chinos. The are super comfortable, fold down to nothing and are decent enough looking to pass for business casual. I got them at Costco for $20/pair.
For the GR2 trip, the weather was much colder, so I also packed long johns and workout clothes, and didn't use the compression zippers on the packing cubes. I also brought some extra outerwear that went into the outer section of the bag.
If you can fit everything in a Rucker/GR1, it is a great travel experience. I got to sit in a front row seat on a Southwest flight that everyone kept passing up because my Rucker squeezed into a tiny sliver of overhead bin up front. Plus your stuff never touches the gross floor of the men's room.
The advantage that a GR2 has is that you can separate "flight" items from "non-flight" items. What I mean is, I don't need access to my cubes or toiletries or most of my electronic cables at the airport (get TSA Pre-Check btw). All of that stuff goes in the main section of the GR2. Anything I might want at the airport or on the plane goes in the outer section. That stuff includes a jacket, snacks, books, battery, etc. I don't have to repack the whole bag every time I pull one of those things out.

I found a tan chest rig but has only five pockets instead of the seven. Should I go for that or just get the postwar OD green colored ones?
Do you know where I can get the PAVN tan/dark green uniform at? I looked online and mooremilitaria has the full set for 100$, which unfortunately is quite pricey for me. I tried to find similar civilian clothes on amazon, like this shirt and these slacks. Will those do? If not I guess I can go the VC full black outfit.
