Random, but here's how I've learned to hide shadow:

Shave, wet shave if you can for a closer shave. Dab all these on with a sponge, apply where the shadow is darkest (usually the chin) first, then dab and feather out from there, including your neck. Make sure all of these match your skin colour, examples just fit mine.

First, concealer:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0058CPGAO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06__o00_s00?ie=UTF8&th=1

This gives you a good base, you don't need much of this to cover but it should be heaviest where your shadow is more pronounced. You can also use a nice lipstick shade for this as the red will offset the shadow, but liquid concealers are best.

Second, Primer:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/BENEFIT-COSMETICS-POREfessional-oz-Comes-Unboxed/dp/6041750573/ref=sr_1_30_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1550416069&sr=8-30&keywords=primer

Again, from the darkest areas, this gives your skin a nice matt soft, even and flat base for the rest of your makeup. It'll hide lumps and bumps from shaving. I use the one I linked because it's great for sensitive skin, moisturizes and smells like chocolate oranges.

Third, Liquid Foundation:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Bourjois-Healthy-AntiFatigue-Foundation-Vanilla/dp/B01N4EGMTG/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1550416544&sr=8-2-spons&keywords=liquid+foundation&psc=1

Apply as you did the concealer - this will be a little more liquid and stains clothes super easy, so be careful! Starting at the darkest areas, then cover the face and neck. When that is dry move onto step 4.

Fourth, Powder Foundation:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Rimmel-London-Pressed-Powder-Transparent/dp/B004M9L0WW/ref=sr_1_4_a_it?ie=UTF8&qid=1550416690&sr=8-4&keywords=powder+foundation

This is to make your makeup a little less shiny and a little more natural, it also helps hide and deal with sweat on your face.

This may sound like it would look super cakey but as you're applying it you'll be able to see where you think it's looking that way and deal with it as you go along. It'll look really natural and is a great every day makeup.

This also works for chest areas if you're looking to wear something a little low cut - I get a shadow almost immediately too and this lasts me all day.

After you've applied all this you'll have a good base for the rest of your makeup - contouring (find a complimentary colour to your skin and apply with a brush), eyebrow, lips and eye. For a darker eye liner look, I've been told to use both a pencil as a base and a liquid liner on top.

Hope this helps!

Kryolan makes great white face paint.

There's also Cinema Secrets Clown White

What you're going to want to do is make sure you're starting with an exfoliated, moisturized face. Use a primer like Too Faced Primed and Poreless. I think the stuff does a wonderful job of filling in pores to create a smooth base for make up to adhere to. Don't glob on too much white grease paint. You can always add. It makes things more difficult when you use too much. You'll end up streaky and uneven. Apply with a good quality make up sponge so you don't end up with weird stippling.

Manic Panic makes a really great white pressed powder. Apply it over your creme make up base to get that opaque, flawless finish rather than the shiny, oily, finish most white face paints leave behind.

You can get the full sclera black contacts here.

It’s called shimmerista and it’s on amazon this is it

I have the daytime one and my mom had the nighttime one. I don’t like the blueness of the nighttime one but both are 10/10 in quality imo
I highly recommend the daytime one for everyday wear and for a glam look (you’d just need to add more to make it glam but not too much)

FACE:

  • Primer is a must. It helps your pores and it makes your makeup stay on longer. The best budget friendly primers that I love are Hard Candy Sheer Envy Primer (only sold at Walmart for $8) and Revlon's PhotoReady Perfecting Primer. Both of these are great and holds up makeup on a hot day really well.

  • BB cream! I love BB creams and they are wonderful. I suggest getting the Asian ones compared to the American ones. American BB creams are more of a tinted moisturizer. Plus Asian BB creams has more skin benefits.

For your skin type, combo, I have many suggestion of a BB cream.

Everyone really likes Missha, I would suggest trying the Perfect Cover or their improved version of that called Signature Real Complete. Both are really well on many skin types. Missha M Shiny provides radiance and glow. Missha Signature Complexion Coordinating BB Cream

In the Skinfood “Good Afternoon” BB cream line I would suggest the Skinfood Good Afternoon Apple Cinnamon Tea which is a Whitening and maintain bright morning skin. Skinfood Good Afternoon Rose Lemon Tea which is Hydrating and Fitting. And Skinfood Good Afternoon Honey Black Tea is Moisturizing and Glowing. Skinfood Mushroom BB cream is also pretty good. It's for dry and normal skin and it helps heal damage skin too.

Holika Holika has a cheap BB cream that works great. Holika Holika Petit BB cream in Clearing (blue tube), Shimmer (pink tube), or Watery (green tube) would be great for your skin tone. Simple break down of Holika Holika Petit BB cream; Essential (orange) for skin elasticity, Moisture (purple) for dry skin, Clearing (blue) for uneven surface of skin, Watery (green) for natural look, and Shimmering (pink) makes skin shiny and clean.

And Holika Holika All That BB cream, Holika Holika Luminous Silk BB Cream, Holika Holika Baby Bloom Moisture BB cream, and Holika Holika Peach Girl BB cream should be great as well.

Skin79 is also a great BB cream favorite. For you skin tone I suggest the Skin79 in Hot pink which is good for combo skin. A simple break down of Skin79 BB cream; Pink is for combo, Orange for oily, and Gold for dry.

Skin79 The Oriental Gold great for all skin types. Skin79 Diamond The Prestige. Skin79 Premier Gold BB cream. Skin79 Dream Girls (made for teenagers) since it's made for teenage skin, it suits many skin types. Skin79 Absolute Total BB Cream. Skin79 Scandal Rose & Vanilla BB cream. Skin79 Diamond Pearl.

Etude House Mineral Wear Bright fit, but they have a newer version of that out call Etude House Cotton Fit. Etude House Dear Girl Be Clear BB cream. However, the Mineral Wear Bright Fit has been known to be a tad bit oily.

Tonymoly Luminous Goddess Aura BB Cream creates a really dewy look, but it would nice for combo/dry skins. Tonymoly Intense Care Snail BB cream heals any damaged skin. Tonymoly Cats Wink Shiny Skin BB Cream is a very simple (and cute looking) BB cream. Tonymoly BB Fit Sheer BB cream, Tonymoly Luminous BB cream Glossy, and Tonymoly The Oriental Gyeol Goun BB cream are also great.

    Loiele Trip Solution BB cream

Dr. Jart Premium BB Cream. Dr. Jart makes BB creams for certain skintypes so this brand is pretty great. Also Dr. Jart is sold in Sephora stores.

Elishacoy Always Nuddy BB cream, Elishacoy Always Triple BB Cream, and Elishacoy Time Capsule BB cream, and Elishacoy Always Baby BB cream. These are great simple BB creams. They all range from moisturizing and oil controlling in each product and they work great for combos.

Innisfree Mineral Sun Waterproof BB cream , Innisfree Jejbija Anti Trouble BB cream, Innisfree Eco Natural Green Tea BB Cream, and Innisfree Air Skin Fit BB cream. These are also great BB creams and they feel nice on the skin!

Too Cool For School Rules of Trouble Dual Cover and Too Cool For School After School BB Foundation Lunch Box

BRTC The First Ampoule BB Cream and BTRC Visualizer Laser BB Multi Cream. BTRC, like Dr. Jart, makes BB creams for certain skin types and works great. BTRC also have a BB cream for acne skin calledBRTC Blemish Recover Balm BB cream. It's a BB cream specifically made for trouble/acne prone/sensitive skin and it's oil free.

Baviphat Magic Girls Whitening BB cream, Baviphant Indi Girl Tea Tree Trouble Catch BB cream

Peripera I Love BB Cream, Peripera I Love BB Light, Peripera Cover BB Foundation, and Peripera Wonder BB cream

Hanskin Smart Total BB Cream Hanskin Glossy BB cream

    Sheerskin Perfect Natural BB cream

Secret Key Snail EGF Repairing Natural BB cream

Ceida Rice Stem Cell Whitening BB cream

    Milkydress Bella 24h BB cream

Nature Republic Botanical Fresh BB cream, Nature Republic Snail Therapy 50 BB cream, and Nature Republic Flower BB cream. Also a great simple and great for the skin BB cream.

The Face Shop Face It Magic Cover BB cream is a great for oily/combo skin. The Face Shop Lovely Me:Ex BB cream is a very simple BB cream and should work well with normal skin types. The Face Shop Face it Shimmering BB cream.

The Face Shop Waterproof BB cream is new and it adheres to the skin. Sweat, water and sebum proof.

Stem cell melti triple BB cream

Itsskin Babyface BB cream. A very simple BB cream.

  • Finishing powder. Finishing powder helps your makeup stay on even longer and helps control shine. Two that works extremely and are easy find are ELF Tone Correcting Powder and NYC Smooth Skin Pressed Powder

    CHEEKS:

  • Blushes! I absolutely love them. NYX blushes are super great and are super budget friendly too! The Peach color is pretty popular and adds the right about of soft colored pink.

    EYES:

  • Mascaras. I never buy high end mascaras they all do the same thing. CoverGirl mascaras are very loved in these subreddits, their Clump Crusher is very beloved. Maybelline mascaras are other people's favorite as well. Their The Falsies is amazing and their The Rocket is super amazing.

  • Eyeliner! There are many different kinds of eyeliners available. There are pencil (automatic ones and sharpening ones), gel, kohl, and liquid. I personally really like gel, kohl, and liquid eyeliners.

For gel eyeliners, Maybelline Eyestudio gel eyeliner is one of the best. However, I love Essence Gel eyeliner. It doesn't smudge, budge, or smear. I had a pot for year or so and it's not dry at all. And it's super cheap! $4!!

For kohl liners, I love Milani liquif'eye. This stuff is truly amazing. I use it on my waterline and it hold up super well! I stamp black eyeshadow on top over it and it last!! I was out for 8 hours and I had to touch up once! Plus when it does fade a bit, it fades cleanly and doesn't look messy.

Liquid liners. I haven't tried this yet, but NYX's liquid liners are amazing. Waterproof like no other! And it's budget friendly as well!

  • Eyeshadows. There are many palettes in this world and I love my theBalm nudetude! It is my favorite and it has great color pay off. However, I also really like NYX's smokey and natural palette. They are also pretty amazing and gives the perfect shadow look.

  • Primer. Eyeshadow primer is also a must. It helps the color show off even more and stay on longer. ELF eyelid primer is pretty great given the price. It's a hit or a miss, but it works quite well with me. Another favorite has to Urban Decay Primer Potion. Like magic in a bottle and is one of the best eyeshadow primer on the market.

    LIPS:

  • Revlon Lip Butters. They are freaking amazing and I love them. I thought they were over hyped, but they are really great. They give off a sheery look, but they are buildable. Not quite a lipstick coverage though. They're not drying and they stay up for a couple hours.

  • Maybelline Color Whispers are very similar to Revlon's Lip Butters, but Maybelline has more a range of colors.

  • NYX lipsticks. Now NYX offers great lipsticks options. From mattes to shine to just regular lipsticks. They have great color option is is overall a great lip product.

  • Smith's RoseBud Salve is like Vaseline on steroids. This stuff is amazing. I used it as a lip balm and it makes my lips super smooth! You can also use it for irritations, minor burns, dry skin, and cuticles!

Thanks for hosting! I wish I could help with skincare, I don't know much about skincare and I've reached the 1000 words limit.../r/SkincareAddiction can help you with that! :D

I've heard Skin Tint is a copy of the Peripera Skin Ink - I have one on the way so I'll report back! I've been pretty impressed with K beauty so I have high hopes...

You just need to blend in some concealer on the dark areas! http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B002S8VF5G/ref=mp_s_a_1_2?qid=1371249521&sr=8-2&pi=SL75

If this isn't your shade just amazon search 'concealer' until you find the right color. Pay attention to the reviews! Make up is something you want to spend extra money on because the quality is most important. If the product is shit its going to make you look like shit.

Here's a tutorial on how you can apply it. Check out the recommended videos for more insight. http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2lpkiT5Um6c

You should be good with just that. I would suggest you invest in a translucent powder to set the concealer and make sure it stays in place. (Helps not rub off and absorbs the shine to give it more of a matte finish so it looks more natural)Totally optional though!

You can get away with just using your finger to apply the powder instead of using a brush. Just press the powder from your finger to the concealed area and lightly blending what you need to. Sometimes the powder comes with a sponge pad thing but if not I'll give you a link to the right brush if you're really interested.

I got mine on Amazon. It's seriously a huge container, and totally worth the money.

I just dip my kabuki in it, pat it out, and BAM.

u/[deleted] · 3 pointsr/transpositive

Yeah, of course! Make-up has been a huge passion of mine, even when I was pre-transition (back then I just kept it to BB Cream tho). So to start, I'd recommend getting brushes and a beauty blending sponge. These are going to be your best friend when applying different foundations, highlights, eye shadow, basically everything. I start my make-up process by washing my face, then applying toner, and some light moisturizer.

Then I start by applying my color corrector for under my eye to rid of the dark circles. If you still have a shadow on your lip and chin, then go with an orange color corrector specifically for those problem shadow areas. This will neutralize the purple color and make your shadow go goodbye~. Apply the color corrector, then blend them out with the blending sponge by lightly tapping it on your skin.

After that, you apply the foundation. To find the right color, go into places like Ulta or Sephora where you can see what tone your skin is. I personally use IT CC Cream as a base foundation. For this, I use a foundation brush to apply it on my face. Do not overdue the foundation as it can look really caked on and artificial if you use too much. Don't forget to a little bit to your neck so that there isn't a lot of contrast between your face and neck. Avoid getting foundation on your eyelids as well, that's for your eye shadow and eyeliner and applying it on your eyelids can make them melt faster.

This is super optional and it just depends on the thickness of your brows but I use brow dip to create a better shape for my eyebrows. I do this for my eyebrows because even tho they are still good in color and thickness, there are some areas where they can be filled in and make a nicer overall look. I would recommend a eyebrow pencil when you first start off that matches your hair color. If you feel adventurous, you can use a brow dip like I do for a more deeper and stronger eyebrow look. Dip-brow is really nice but its easy to screw up so be careful, when I first started using it, I would apply too much and accidentally make my brows look more masculine then they already are.

Next comes the primer and eye shadow, this is where most of the fun is and where experimentation mostly happens for me. The eye shadow primer is important so that your eye shadow stays on for most of the day and it typically is a liquid so just rub that with your fingers on your eye lids and a little under the eye. I use I use Juvia's The Nubian eye shadow palette, it has more natural colors and some reds and golds that are less dramatic compared to other colors. Basically, this palette is perfect for beginners not looking for a super out there look. I would recommend looking at YouTube tutorials for the application of both eye shadow and eyeliner because there are different ways to do so and it would take me a little longer to explain the process TuT. The best eye liner for a good price I've found is from Maybeline. This one in particular doesn't smudge as much as others and is the cheaper option when practicing eyeliner.

After that is done, it's the small things I do. I apply a little powder on my face with a focus on my cheeks, nose, and forehead so that I don't look too oily and gross. Sometimes I add some pink blush to my cheekbones if it compliments my eye shadow. Next I apply some highlighter over my cheekbones, tip of the nose, and on the top cupids bow of your lip. The highlighter should be very light as applying too much will make you shine and glisten as if you look super oily. Just a touch is good enough in most cases with makeup unless you are going for a more dramatic effect. And finally, I apply a small thing of lip stick/gloss/stain to really make everything pop and cute. I like lip stain the best because I feel it lasts the longest out of the three and you can have different shades off of one bottle by simply not applying as much lip stain initially or by wiping some excess off with a tissue.

Remember that makeup takes some practice so don't get discouraged if you screw anything up, especially eyeliner as it takes a steady hand. Also, if your looking for an everyday easy look, just stick to the color correction, foundation, and lipstick. I do this look sometimes as doing the whole process can sometimes take me 20 minutes while the quick method can only take 5 minutes from my day.

u/flyaninnocentlife · 3 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Very nervous, took me a long time to build up courage to do this. I won't even leave the house unless I've done make up. But worth it for tips and suggestions from you lovely lot!

This is my evening makeup, for daytime I don't use eyeshadow. Tips and advice very welcome, especially to help with my problem areas!! Thanks in advance guys.

I have a very tight budget, so most of my products are from low priced makes. In fact, the most expensive item in my collection is my lipstick at £8!

Product list:

Primer: W7 Prime Magic

Foundation: W7 Hi definition in Buff although link is to wrong colour.

Powder: Rimmel Stay Matte in Transparent 001

Blush: Natural Collection in Peach Melba

Eyeshadow: Brown & cream shades in my W7 colour palette and gold is Rimmel Metallic Stars, no longer sold.

Have you ever tried the innisfree no sebum Powder? I’ve never tried the soap and glory one, but I really enjoy this one. It helps my oily skin a lot. They have a pressed and loose powder version - I like both. I highly recommend it if you want to try something different!

>Physician's Formula Powder that is 30 spf

Thank you so much! I'll definitely check this out, since I've never used a powder before and want to see how it works before I invest in the expensive stuff - is this it?

I live in NY and Ricky's NYC stores carry Mehron & Ben Nye. Tbh, I'm lazy so I get everything from Amazon. Here's everything w/ free shipping:

u/I_stole_yur_name · 2 pointsr/Ghostbc

Thanks! we were thinking of doing the outline but since we couldn't find her brushes this was easier to do at the moment.

Also we used Mehron Brand makeup

The White

The Black

And a setting powder that keeps the paint from smearing and coming off

They cost about 10 dollars each but are super dense, one container will last a long time

u/Grazzi · 2 pointsr/RandomActsofMakeup

OMGCATS I've been thinking a lot about this lately, but I'm in my no buy moment :/

And happy birthday early for you..and I hope you have a great birthday day.. And thank you for hosting this contest =)

u/disastermoviebinge · 2 pointsr/Makeup

I'll check her out thanks! She's seems to be darker than my "summer color" at her lightest but maybe I'll find some brands through her that have lighter shades.

A couple Halloweens ago I decided I would try to make my face look even paler for a costume so I got this stuff https://www.amazon.com/Manic-Panic-Pressed-Compact-Vampire/dp/B0026IJ1IG

And it was just the color of my face when I put it on. You couldn't even tell. I've done pretty good to get some base color over the last couple years but unfortunately that's also come with sunspots (which is part of what I need to hide now).

I guess I'll update the post when I get home later with a photo of my face in winter/summer in case that affects anyone's recommendations.

I always forget that "hey I'm pale" can range anywhere from "are you dying of something?" To "beautiful Ivory". I'm on the death's door side of things.

u/theatregeek1008 · 2 pointsr/MakeupAddiction

Ah, no! The colour of translucent powder varies from white to slightly skin coloured. When it goes on the skin, it's practically invisible, hence the name translucent. It works for all skin colours. It doesn't even out the face or anything, it just takes away shine and sets your foundation and concealer.

http://www.amazon.com/Shaker-Translucent-Powder-Bottles-Neutral/dp/B003ATC902/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=beauty&qid=1310018600&sr=1-2

It's the white jar with the blue print. Now, I know it's white. However, it goes on without any colour. The is one of the powders I am currently using and I really like this stuff! It can be hard to find due to the fact that Ben Nye is a company that exclusively makes stage makeup. If you choose this one, you would have to buy it online or see if your local costume store has it.

Now, I've never found a translucent powder that I didn't like. I never buy high end translucent powder, mostly because I find that ALL translucent powders do a great job, no matter how high end the brand. Here are some others that you can find in the drugstore:

u/drkgreyfox · 1 pointr/cosplay

I can't find any of the face paint I'd used, but I believe it was Kryolan branded, came in the containers like this. I do still have the sealer, which is this brand, the little container second from the right.

Like the poster below mentions, the powder sealer can lighten the makeup color you're using, but for what you're going with, that doesn't seem to be an issue.

u/beigemom · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

Wow that stuff looks awesome! I'd been looking for a powdery SPF to apply over makeup mid day, settled on [this](Physicians Formula Mineral Wear Talc-Free Mineral Makeup Airbrushing Pressed Powder SPF 30, Translucent, 0.26 Ounce https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006WZ9N00/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_0vv5ybM50YZC7) which so far I like. I see your product is also noted as a primer. Do you think it would also work well to just pat on over makeup? It's got more SPF so in the end is rather use something like that. Also, what about it didn't you like? Thanks!

If you want it to look like liquid shiny copper you can try it with this http://www.amazon.com/Graftobian-Magic-Set-Mixing-Liquid/dp/B0055AF6E0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1383001819&sr=8-1&keywords=graftobian+liquid It takes a bit of trial and error and learning not to blink until dry, but it rocks and is how I turn my pigments into liquid liner. It's really long lasting and can take a bruising. I always test things on the top of my hand or inside of my wrist and see how much destruction they can take. The mixing liquid is good for durability. Pixie Primer is ThisIsRamona speak for Pixie Epoxy because there are just some thing my brain refuses to stop making up names for, http://fyrinnae.com/index.php?_a=viewProd&productId=412 It'll come out much more intense. That's cute about your sis! Did you prime her before you swatched her?

If you don't mind buying from Amazon, I bought Graftobian Powdered Metal - Gold which needs to be mixed with a couple of Graftobian Magic Set Mixing Liquid and covered my whole body for MoMs Ball last year. It stayed on great for 4 hours and came off easy in the shower. I did not notice any browning.

FYI If Tarte Shape Tape in Fair isn't brightening on you you're probably like an NW5 or something hehe, cuz that concealer is pretty darn light!

Some other concealers to look into would be the Amazing Cosmetics Concealer, and the MUFE Full Coverage Concealer. Another idea is to use a white powder to brighten that area after applying concealer like this Stargazer Powder

u/brie_s · 1 pointr/MakeupAddiction

Have you watched Thataylaa? She has good recommendations for people with fair skin, and I think she's also around NC15. She mentions the Stargazer Pressed Powder as one of her favorites, but it's pretty much stark white. On her though, it does have a really beautiful brightening effect. Check her out for some recs! She mentions other favorite powders during her 15 Days of Foundation series. Here's her channel.

I wouldn't mind getting this but honestly I like being surprised, too!

2013 is the year of the snake. I saw a snake out in the yard today. :P

These goofy pictures of my dog make my happy...even if my dog is a jerk and doesn't listen to me sometimes. lol. But really these two are my life and I don't know what I'd do without them. <3

Additionally, this thread makes me happy...but also sad. I don't know. I keep going back to it every month or so since it happened, though, so I must enjoy it, right?

What makes YOU happy? I wanna know! :) And happy anniversary!

I like the Dermablend setting powder. I use the translucent, and haven’t had any flashback in any of my photos, but you could also use the cool beige if you’re using bright lighting.
