Are they still $300. Ouch! Now $200. still expensive.

Finally, after Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) Surgery I am looking at woodworking after taking years off. Irony is I spotted this funnel think at the wood store, and realized "perfect" for pouring things from big bottles to little bottles. Smart Funnel

Oh, I also ordered a 3D printer.... to make bigger tooth paste caps! Pet peeve is dried out tooth paste, followed only by caps too small to use my fingers on!

Do stop in and check out /r/Parkinsons Yes there is a reddit for everything.

LOVE THIS.

So at my house we have an assortment of like grocery bags, they're all sizes and materials. Just whatever's been acquired over the years. I do prefer the ones with a more structured box shape for groceries and keep the foldable ones for my purse/backpack/car for unplanned shopping or non-grocery shopping.

For produce, we use either net or mesh bags. I prefer the bigger net type bags usually. Sometimes for more leafy-fragile items I prefer the mesh ones. But everything is machine washable, so stains aren't a worry!

For items such as beans, chocolate chips, basically medium sized, dry items (rice is too small), I like to use cotton bags. Then I don't have to worry about the Tare and they're generally easy to fill up from those dispenser things. For the BIN # of these ones, I just write it down in my phone usually, I've heard you can use pencil right on the cotton though!

For items that would either get stuck in the seams of those bags or are dirtier or almond butter, I use glass jars. My grocery store is nice and I just had to weigh my jars once, they wrote it with Sharpie and I've just kept rewriting that weight whenever it washes off. Then I bring a chalk marker (I've had some laying around from crafting), and write the BIN on the top. It's nice cause my chalk markers are white and the sharpie is black so at the register I just tell the cashier, the tare's in black and bin's in white!

I also have a funnel for the glass jars that have a smaller mouth because I've made a mess in the aisle one too many times.

If I'm not bringing more than 1-2 glass jars, I can keep all of these items in a small grocery bag. I simply fold the grocery bags and lay them flat against one side, then put in the glass jars, then in the cracks put all the produce and bulk bags.

My house is pretty small, and our kitchen is right at the front door, so I just leave all our bags (produce, shopping, and bulk) in a large bag on the counter next to the door. All our glass jars are kept in the cupboard right by the door, so before my trip while making a list, I'll take out the right containers and put them in! If I end up with too many glass jars for the bag, I just take out a bigger grocery bag as my bag holder.

Howdy! I just got my printer today so this is fresh in my mind. I watched a lot of videos to understand what I needed and how to get everything set up. I would recommend checking out the 3DPrintFarm YouTube channel. There's a lot of great info in there. Here's a list of everything I picked up along with links to Amazon for the items I got off there. Hope it helps!

Ah, after further reading (never worked with it before), it seems as if diatomaceous earth (celite) is used as a filter media for the fine dust-grade carbon itself . It (DE) is siliceous, therefore has limited absorbent properties. Due to its fine particle size and neutral phsyical/chemical properties, it is an ideal media for manufacturing single-use in-process filter beds during vacuum assisted filtrations.

Short-version - diatomaceous earth (celite) forms an additional super-fine filterbed on top of your normal buchner filter paper (or coffee paper if you're a cheapo), that assists in removal of fine carbon used for color-working product.

Personal suggestion/question - Why use celite? It costs as much as a low-micron fritted glass filter, and seems to just add more labor. Or alternatively, why not use fish-filter carbon? it is larger in particle size, and much easier to catch without adding another single-use product to your filtration process. (When I do this at home, I'd add the fish-filter grade carbon, and let it sit over night in the freezer, and pass it through a frit-filter, winterizing and colorworking in a single step)

Celite is just a trademarked brand of diatomaceous earth.

- cheapo fritted glass filter - (real cheap, stoneyglass is good for the price though) - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0781C4C8P/ref=sspa_dk_detail_0?psc=1&pd_rd_i=B0781C4C8P&pd_rd_w=Qgg4T&pf_rd_p=46cdcfa7-b302-4268-b799-8f7d8cb5008b&pd_rd_wg=0BoHA&pf_rd_r=QQWVJWQ3JG5D5WS8RYRZ&pd_rd_r=d46bbb9d-7a90-11e9-9308-7719d34db95a

Tip - To clean your fritted filter, use warm ethanol. Ethanol drifts in polarity depending on temperature, when hot, it picks up fats and waxes, and when cool, forces them out of suspension. So, when you get a fatty filter, just run hot ethanol through it.

It probably isn't worth it unless you use some hella-expensive shampoo, or something. But this thing is under $4, and it's awesome.

There's this little cheap metal funnel I found on Amazon that's the perfect size to load the flowermate. I'll see if I can find it and post a link

Look for a canning funnel. They are as wide as a mason jar opening.

Next tier up from glass is stainless. Either sanke keg or basic bucket, looking at min spend $100 unless you have a source of ethical decommissioned kegs. 2in hole in a sanke keg plus canning funnel you can get away with a lot. Canning funnel can let you get away with a lot when it comes to smaller openings.

Also, remember that PET carboys can be had for $18-$22 each. That's 5 infection events to price break even with buying something more expensive. I'm willing to bet that with proper fruit handling, it would take at least 5-10 years to have that occur. Having fermented with lots of fruit, and doing mini-must methods, I have yet to have fruit give me an infection in the last 3.5 years.

  • Capsule machine - any size depending on what you want the cap size to be.
  • Mortar and pestle - used to pulverize MDMA
  • Micro funnel - cut the tip of the spout off with scissors and leave about 1/4" spout.
  • Milligram scale - calibrate and weigh out MDMA amount per cap
  • Small metal spatulas - really useful for scooping MDMA

These are just the tools that I use, you don't have to use them but it makes the job easier.

    Process:

  1. Fill capsule machine with empty caps. This one holds 50 shells. Put the tops in a bowl or glass to keep them from getting misplaced.
  2. Place the shortened funnel in the first cap that you want to fill
  3. Pulverize MDMA. It doesn't have to be perfectly smooth, but the less chunky the easier it is to weigh out.
  4. Put a plate under the pestle, scale, and capsule machine to catch any accidental spills that might occur.
  5. Using the spatulas, transfer a small amount of MDMA that has been pulverized to the scale. Add or remove MDMA as necessary till you get the weight that you want each cap.
  6. Transfer the weighed amount of MDMA and pour it into the funnel, hopefully filling the cap with MDMA. The funnel spout sometimes clogs, just use the spatula to clear the clog.
  7. Repeat these steps until you've filled all the caps you need to make.
  8. After you have filled all the caps you are going to make, use the shell halves to seal the caps.

With this setup, I can cap over 100 caps an hour, each one weighed out to the same weight. Using #1 caps each ends up about 1/2 full, filled with .1-.15g of MDMA.

This is what you don’t want
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07KCNQF9M/ref=sspa_mw_detail_4?ie=UTF8&psc=1

The problem with the second bullet is the size of the bump is too small and the mechanism gets clogged with coke and becomes pretty much unusable very quickly. Get the spoon one and you can get whatever size bump you want. If you want lines just dump a little bit out of the vial and boom you got powder on the table. The one i recommended should hold close to a full 8 ball, don’t know for sure because I’ve never tried to fill it up.

Shake it and strain it (either order). If it's already in your vat, put a funnel and strainer on the bottle and pour it back in. Or use an extra bottle and collect it first and shake it, it should help it strain better.

Low heat, silicone spatula, a meat injector/marinade needle (wide tip) and practice practice practice.

I used to waste so much when I first started. Anyone ever get the strings that go from your pot to your molds your filling? Worst.

I like the presicion of marinade needles, it makes the transfer from pot to mold flawless. And you can use a silicone spatula to scrape the pot. Because the meat injector is so precise it sucks up the last bits pretty effectively after scraping.

Candy funnels work pretty well too but you need a fast hand for it.

You will want to buy a wine strainer and aerator and decant the wine before drinking it.

http://www.amazon.com/Rabbit-Aerator-Shower-Sediment-Strainer/dp/B000YDGMNW/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1464110013&sr=8-1&keywords=wine+strainer+aerator

The strainer will filter out all of the sediment, and the aerator will let more oxygen get to the wine to open up all of its flavors. If you don't have a decanter, you'll need one of those as well. A wine that old you will probably want to drink within the hour after decanting it however.

u/OGIVE · 1 pointr/whatisthisthing

> wine funnel

stainless steel wine funnel with a fine-mesh filter removes any sediment and impurities when decanting wine. The curved spout allows for aeration as wine runs through.

That looks genius! I've been using one of these and saving the filtered grease in a mason jar. Both are good options but I think the one you linked to would be more convenient.
