> They dead unless you are spending over 2k

I once came in with cash to buy a Taylor 214ce deluxe, for $1000. There was a seasonal sale that brought it from $1299 to $1000. Naturally I walk in and the sale just ended now it was back to full sticker price. A guy asks me if I need help and I tell him I want this guitar at the $1000 sale price, he says he can't do it and goes on and on about his warranty for an extra $60, bla bla bullshit, I let him finish his script and kindly ask for the sales manager. Sales manager comes in and I tell him I came here with $1000 for the seasonal sale price on this guitar. If he can fix the price back to that, he sells a guitar today, if he can't, I'm out the door. He looks aggravated, asks me to wait, walks away for 15 minutes and comes back, gives me the green light. They bring my guitar to the front desk, another guy brings the case, I notice it's not the good case, and the label on the guitar clearly says it comes with a "deluxe" case, because this is the "deluxe" model. Another big sigh from both of them, they disappear for another 10 min and come out with the correct one with red velvet lining which looks 100x better and sturdier. He looks defeated at this point. Rings me up for a grand, i decline the extra warranty knowing that Taylor already has a limited warranty anyway and I never buy warranties for a good guitar, the shit was already built to last. Then I ask since I'm spending a grand, can he throw in a set of $5 guitar strings. This is when he cracked and all the fake cordial behavior went away and he said "Sir, you're already getting a good enough deal". I said thanks grabbed my new guitar and went on my way.

The point of this story is, I don't think a lot of youth realize that the sticker price on all these guitars is merely a suggestion. Be firm, be ready to walk, have your research done and a number you're willing to pay and take a chance. Also, the first guy who talks to you can't do anything for you, always ask for the sales manager, he determines price changes at guitar center.

Not really what you're looking for but the Gator G-PG-ELEC-2X Cases GPgElec2X is a dual-electric guitar backpack that is awesome.

It's $200 but made with great quality materials/zippers/padding with tons of pockets for extra storage. There's even a little indentation on the foam at the bottom of the guitars where the strap button will be and a rain poncho that folds up into its own pocket.

I know you said you're not gigging but I gig a lot and that backpack has made my life considerably easier. So... that's how one justifies a $200 soft case.

I'm traveling back home from University in the States to Costa Rica with my new guitar and I was wondering what would be a good hard case to get. I've been looking at this case since I've heard the horror stories of people traveling with their guitars. But I was wondering if it would be overkill?

A mandolin case will be better padded than a tennis bag. I have this and it fits my 14.5" AR with a Law Tactical folding stock which is about 26" long folded. It's pretty damn nice for the price. It's my go-to truck gun bag.

This case is also very nice for the price. The same rifle listed above fits in it very well folded up.

You can look for cases such as [this](http://www.ChromaCast.com/ CC-EHC-KIT-3 Electric Guitar Hard Case with Pick Sampler https://www.amazon.com.mx/dp/B00KN0EK9E/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_nNkPAbH61Q684)

I'm not sure what to tell besides that

The Milestone is a P/J shape. Any generic case will work. It's just a matter of how much you want to spend.

You could go for a cheaper "open cavity" style case that go for $50 - $75.

Or you could go for a nicer case, that has better padding and a generic p/j mold, which goes for about $100 - $130

I have an older Peavey Millenium BXP 5 that I carry in a generic Coffin case. It doesn't have any kind of molding or compartments for accessories, but it has done a great job for the past 15 years.

Get a soft guitar bag with backpack straps (like this). I re-purposed a similar bag for my AR15.

You would be able to fit an AR10 with 18" barrel with the stock fully collapsed. If you want a fixed stock, you could separate the upper and lower.

Does it need to be a hard case? It came with a really bulky soft case, but I’m wondering if that would absorb some of the moisture. This is the case it came with: https://www.amazon.com/Taylor-Guitars-JB-61065-Mini-Gig/dp/B00B8X8QOK

Thanks for the help!

Aspiring to play guitar, got almost everything i need then thought what am i gonna carry this in? lol. Its not $100 but is something i'd like

It doesn't look like any of the Gator ProGo bags will fit an Explorer shape like that. You could try the 335/V case, but it's really hard to tell if it would fit.

Easier to go with a purpose built bag like this.

I probably 40 times a year and on pretty much all the airlines operating in the US. FYI on Delta, they have changed the overhead bins on most of the planes and they definitely will not fit a bass of any scale. I've been carrying on a small bass for the last few yeas to avoid baggage fee's and also due to transportation issues dealing with space in rental cars. I recently ended up buying a cheap Fender short scale bass because most Delta planes which is the airline i fly the most will not fit my short scale bass in an overhead anymore and the closet space is taken by first class. I was using a short scale 70's solid body Hofner but it's kind of rare and it's irreplaceable. The Fender bass i bought cost me 200$ and i insured it as well so i really don't care if it gets trashed by an airline. I have a weird case that is pretty protective but at the end of the day it's not going to protect it from any real damage.

I use this one. Gator Cases GB-4G-MINIACOU 4G Style Gig Bag for Mini Acoustic Guitars with Adjustable Backpack Straps https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0171AO0YI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_6GKcDMsxdHioM

I just bought one of these about 2 months ago and it's the best deal I could find for a sturdy fitted case. I've never been a fan of those big box cases.

Thinking of ordering this one because it looks very durable, and it has a lock on it which is nice since I was eventually planning on bringing this with me to my dorm, and dont want to risk someone stealing it or just picking up and dicking around with it while im not around. It may not be a $3k guitar but its still mine and I dont want people to mess around with it while im not around.

My questinon is, do you think it will fit the guitar? Martin only has the scale length of the guitar which is about 25", and the other one has the length of a guitar and lists it up to 22" ish. Not sure if it will fit.

Thanks!

This is another decent one. My buddy uses that one for his rifle.
