Thin black leather cords,OR Ribbon cord because it can fit onto small jewelry pieces. Hemp twine may fit as well if you buy the smaller MM size.
Definitely not an expert on this. I would get some heavy duty epoxy, and leather cord.
Something like this.

There are vinyl repair kits you can buy. There's this kind, which is a kind of filler that can be used to fill in scratches and which bonds to the vinyl, and this, which has several components (watch the video).
I've never used any of them, but I figure that with black upholstery it should be easy to make the repair completely invisible.
Here's one of the results from Amazon.
As for how to tie them the Luna site itself has a good video.
Almost 300 miles in my Origens now with the leather straps. Only once, after the first couple of runs, did I have to re-do the knot on one of them (maybe not tied quite right at the factory) but since then absolutely no sign of failure with the straps at all. Taken them through mud and water with all the trail running and a couple of rainy runs.
They are a bit stiff at first but over time soften up (100 miles or so) and it helps to wear them around for casual use to that end. I've found you just have to stick with the traditional lacing and let any blisters or hot spots from the sandals persist and callus up. That was a problem for those first 100 miles but ever since then no issues and very comfy.
Any craft store is likely to carry leather cord. If you don't have anything local, it's available online from pretty much anywhere you'd buy beading or jewelry-making supplies. I'll bet the flat suede type (or something like this) would look great! There are a lot of different styles, textures, and colors available (braided, flat, round, etc).
