There are a lot of Chinese sellers that are swamping the market now with cheap products. I bought a kit off there from a company based in the U.S. and got lucky. Super powerful magnet. Thick enough rope that floats on the surface too. You try and find a solid core double braided rope to go with your magnet. It doesn’t stretch as much and has more abrasion resistance. Link

It's been done for water towers as well. You just need to spec the magnets to have high enough force to withstand movement from the wind. Depending on size of dish and size of mount and average wind speed in the area. I would probably start at 4 x 25-50lbs magnets on a satellite dish style mount and move up as needed. Sorry it took me so long, day got away from me. I'll repost the links to the magnets and anchors since Imgur ate them. Hope this helps you out!

I believe it's 1 inch PVC pipe, 1 right angle PVC joint, two 45 degree PVC joints, four 2" ring magnets with housing (I already had these on my refrigerator, but I think they are these. Not sure about how much force mine are, though). 4 bolts, 4 nuts, and 4 washers (used on bottom of controller). Some cool paint and then you're done. It's easy. Make one and let's play together.

How thick is your headliner? I ask because years ago I had this same issue of hanging a divider, and I realized that I could just use industrial strength magnet swivel hooks to hold it up (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KWZW3Q8/ref=cm_sw_r_sms_awdo_t1_8NZZCbPQ6KW0K). I actually still use them, but for a different purpose in my van. Also look for 'black out curtains' and not bedsheets!

That sounds like it will work, I think I have a few of these and they've worked pretty well for me. I keep one in my sewing kit too on a string for waving around the floor if I drop a needle, lol.

FYI, these are the magnets I bought. These look like 35 lbs, I was using 8 before with no problems holding a full growler, with 9 in this configuration, it's actually kind of difficult to pull them off.

there are these, for mounting on the underside of a shelf, and they pull out for access. However, it and its sibling items are all out of stock on Amazon (I think because they're actually from the U.K.). I don't know if you could find them elsewhere, though.
