I got a pop up canopy

https://www.amazon.com/Quick-Set-9281-140-Inch-Protection/dp/B00E3LF7FK/

takes like 1 minute to setup and stores in a easy bag under my bed. Increases the livingspace 3x :)

u/Hausnelis · 22 pointsr/whatisthisthing

It might be good for camping or tailgaiting. I'm sure it ridiculously expensive. Yup, it is https://www.amazon.com/Hammaka-Trailer-Chairs-Wooden-Dowels/dp/B00B3LPHUS

u/jkoppp · 13 pointsr/Trucks
u/Tryin2cumDenver · 9 pointsr/specializedtools

I was sure I was the first person to create a hitch hammock. The frame of the hammock/chair would hook onto the ball hitch of a truck while the seat was suspended over the ground. I even drew up a schematic and counted all my chickens before they hatched.

My heart sunk when I seen one at a tailgate party.

u/rm-minus-r · 7 pointsr/Hammocks

Can you? Totally! Will they stretch? Possibly.

I have this one - https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01JRWHNE2/ - it came with a chain on each end to attach to the hooks, works like a charm.

Chain doesn't stretch either, so if it's a semi-permanent setup, it doesn't hurt to get two short lengths of chain from your local Home Depot or Lowes or the like.

u/cfc1016 · 7 pointsr/Hammocks

THIS ONE - $44

There's another unit that has the same overlap hanging system (which I VASTLY prefer to the standard "this is your one and only harness point" style) and is 10' instead of 9'. THIS is it - $60.

In researching a compact indoor unit, those were the two at the top of my list. The pole ends and adjustable harness point are really the winning feature.

Read the comments in THIS POST for all the details you could possibly want.

u/whitefang573431 · 6 pointsr/Hammocks

The plans were from a website that sells pvc pipe >.< I just feel cheated at this point.

Defeated, I caved and bought the $44 stand recommended to me earlier by u/cfc1016.

I beg to differ with /u/flargenhargen's suggestion of nail stakes. While they aren't bad, they are far from indestructable. I've killed a lot of them over my time. The plastic tips are easy to break and they bend like any other stake will if there's a rock 6" underground that you didn't know about.

With that said, these are the only tent stakes I've ever owned that I absolutely could not destroy. The manufacturer claims that they can be driven into asphalt and I believe them! They are truly buy it for life although I confess that in extremely hard ground you can get a workout driving in half a dozen of them (but the stakes themselves won't care).

Final comment: Different types of ground call for different types of stakes. Unless I know exactly what the ground is like where I'm going, I try to carry three different types of stakes. The nail stakes previously mentioned (work in hard clay). For really soft ground where stakes pull out easily (sand or snow), I use augers. For all else I use the bad boys I linked to at the top of my post. Yes, I carry all three types if I don't know exactly where I'm going in advance.

edit: I keep coming back to refine my comments. Sheesh|

I'm thinking about getting some inflatable stuff for camp, specifically this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G7H7AUS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_g.jIAb9656Q29

Anyone ever used this or something similar? Worth my money?

FYI I just bought this hammock stand and it came in the mail a couple days ago. I haven't used it yet but it looks exactly like the one you are planning on buying but half the price. https://www.amazon.com/OnCloud-Portable-Universal-Carrying-Capacity/dp/B01JP1CI6I/ref=sr_1_4?s=lawn-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1487468006&sr=1-4&keywords=portable+hammock+stand

Currently I'm using right this now I got it around $49. It folds up pretty quick too.

It comes with a really nice bag to store it in as well. I use it with my 11ft and 9ft hammocks both indoor and out.

Took only Five days to get it but was in the warehouse for 3 days just waiting.

u/ShiversIsBored · 3 pointsr/Random_Acts_Of_Amazon

It's hard to tell what it is, but it's this amazing storage balcony bench. I don't want to unpack and put it together yet since we're moving in less than 2 weeks. But I'm so pumped to set this up at the new place. Much love /u/SailoLee92

Similar to your picture, field fencing. They have it at Tractor Supply. Instead of digging holes for post, maybe if you build a fence similar to that in your picture, and use something like electrical ground rods or >= #4 rebar strapped to the bottom of and perpendicular to the fence.

Edit: strapped to the bottom HORIZONTALLY and perpendicular to the fence.

Edit: Another idea along the idea of the ground rod. Ground rod or rebar attached as before only on inside of fence. This will keep the fence from falling inward. Wire attached to top of fence directly above ground rod/rebar. Other end of wire attached to a ground screw anchor. More screw anchors. This will keep the fence from falling outward.

u/piero1255 · 3 pointsr/Bonsai

I actually bought it in Costco, it's supposed to be a picnic table or bench. But it works great as a bonsai bench

That reminded me, I need one of those three tiered hanging fruit baskets, but then I started looking and found this, which is much cooler. :)

Keep an eye out for hammock gear on Woot, they run some incredible bundle deals. I got a Yukon Outfitters hammock, bug net and rain fly for $30.

Get these hammock straps. I've been using them for several years; they are lightweight yet extremely durable. Totally worth $20.

I recommend these carabiners (comes in many different colors).

Following your formatting lol

⚡️🌲 hmmmm tape, scissors, maybe a marker (to mark what cup is yours). The bigger problem IMO is forgetting “obvious” stuff. My first year, I forgot a toothbrush. This year, my friend forgot a pillow. I have a google doc that I maintain throughout the year. As I remember stuff I should bring, I add it to the list. You’re a lot less likely to forget something if you’ve been compiling the list for months.

⚡️🌲 a super comfy bed setup. I have a queen sized air bed cot and I always bring lots of blankets and pillows. Invest in a comfortable camping chair, not just a $10 Walmart one. You don’t have to splurge, I got a $20 one this summer and it’s 1000% more cozy than the one I had before. Bring lots of string lights (solar ones are great and you don’t have to buy batteries) to put around the campsite so you aren’t fumbling in the dark. Don’t forget a lantern for the table. I like having a camping rug/mat for under the canopy so the campsite isn’t muddy/dirty. Also, this is a game changer.

⚡️🌲 Not a solar charger but this is the battery pack I have. Fully charged, it has lasted me throughout every festival I’ve taken it to.

⚡️🌲 2017 I arrived at 9 pm on Wednesday, this year I arrived at noon. I think I had an hour wait this year and about half an hour last year. They’re pretty good at getting you in quickly. I’d say just arrive at the most convenient time for you.

u/hometowngypsy · 2 pointsr/femalefashionadvice

I use these shoe deodorizer inserts:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00YCT5EA6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_V3U8BbNWKW824

And this is the spray:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076KSBGG6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_X6U8BbH3YDNK2

I also use a powder on my feet / in my shoes in the heat of summer (I live in a super humid, super hot place) so I need all the help I can get. It has helped immensely. I used to have to actually trash shoes because they’d smell so bad, but with this method I can’t even tell I’ve worn them usually. And my closet smells amazing.

What if she had a hammock like this

I would love if my husband got me this and some other small things -weighted blankets are popular right now, high quality stemless wine glasses, or a silk pillowcase.

u/Tudwell · 2 pointsr/hammockcamping

I agree, but no worries. I was borrowing my buddies "Ultimate Hammocks" straps. They taper from 1" huggers to .5" webbing loops to save weight.

Edit:

u/Abrahamlinkenssphere · 2 pointsr/macrogrowery

I would have to say its heat stress as Im also an Oklahoma grower and It's been a hot one! They are bouncing between vastly different temps and its just stressing them out. My suggestion would be to try just sticking to indoors on the super hot days. If that is not an option, consider building some plant shades https://www.amazon.com/Agfabric-Sunblock-Shade-Cloth-Plants/dp/B00LO0JPHO

If it does end up being mites, I suggest Green Cleaner.

u/myredditaccountv · 2 pointsr/Hammocks

My Amazon cheap recommendation setup right now is this

Camping Hammock, Lightweight Portable Garden Double Hammocks - Premium Nylon Parachute Hammock with Tree Straps for Backpacking Travel Beach Yard https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078ML2RRX/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_e-klDbCJM105H

u/thomas533 · 2 pointsr/Permaculture

You need shade netting. The plants still get enough light to grow but you keep the majority of the sun off of the soil so the roots don't get as hot.

For next year, increase the density of your plantings. You want them thick enough so that after they get their third or fourth set of true leaves, they are shading 50% of the soil. You can always thin them out later of they get to crowded, but you need to keep the sun off of the soil if you want them to grow!

u/theholyllama · 1 pointr/Coachella

Thanks. I've heard stories about the dust storms blowing canopies away. We want to just use 2 canopies with shade to sleep in but kind of nervous about the wind. Any thoughts?

Possibly thinking about using these to anchor

I used this for 6 months as my bed, I've built stands before and they work well enough but this one is nice and sturdy (Zupapa 550LBS Capacity Universal Multi-Use Steel Hammock Stand, 2 Person, Fits Hammocks 9 to 14 Feet Long, Adjustable Heavy Duty Hammock Frame https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JRWHNE2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_aI6rDbP6EK3DR) , there is a stand that Walmart sells that is $50 and folds out, it works pretty well but if you're over 200 lb it may not last, mine lasted around 2 months of daily use and then just bent in half when I got in it one day. The Amazon one is great, heavy duty enough for two people and packs down into a small bag.

u/peepeesmol · 1 pointr/Hydroponics

Due to its design it does sag a little, but the holes don't really stretch out much after the first week. I just took off the zipties and retied it after the first week and it's held up for over three months now. I didn't double up the netting and it worked fine.

I recently bought THIS one from Amazon, so far it's been great. I will admit that at 275 lbs I'm always a bit nervous when I first get in, but it's help up great after about 30 uses.

u/Korberos · 1 pointr/BurningMan

This will be my first time out on the playa and I'm looking for anyone in this thread to tell me if this is a terrible idea before I commit to it:

Instead of a tent, I'll be using a hammock on a fold-out hammock stand and I'll be draping fabric from my car to some stakes in the ground around me to avoid the sun and hopefully the majority of the dust. It'll all be facing west so that in the morning the sun will be on the other side of my car, which will have a windshield reflector on it so as to not allow the sun to shine through the windshield, out the back, and directly into my sleeping area.

u/wayfarer650 · 1 pointr/Hammocks

I have this stand from Amazon and it's been great for $45. It's made up of 5 tube pieces that break down for storage - mine stays under the bed much of the time. I think it's 9 feet tip-to-tip, so you can still get a pretty good hanging angle.

u/JesuitPeriwinkle · 1 pointr/Sneakers

A lot of people use washing machines just fine but I tend to steer away from it.

The key is to just do preventative cleaning, especially if you live somewhere where there's snow, slush and salt to deal with. I'll wipe my shoes down with a damp rag or just a hint of soap for wiping away the easy grime and any spot stains. If they get really dirty I give them a scrub with a brush and some Jason Markk.

If you clean proactively, it's a lot easier to keep your shoes fresh. For odors I use a couple of these to rotate between my pairs. Not an instant fix for a really bad pair but keeps everything smelling fresh: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00YCT5EA6/

Not related to your question, but I have 2 of this https://www.amazon.com/Best-Choice-Products-Folding-Portable/dp/B00D491T2W

each one is 120cm x 60cm, when I want to play big games, I just put them together and have 120x120 which is enough for most of my games (Biggest one so far is the Rising Sun playmat)

For 10 grands you could pay someone to make it for you.

You can track down the specific manufactured of this one and get it shipped.

You can buy a cheaper version on amazon.

Or you can just have a bench and a table, and move them around as needed.

Can you list a budget? If $2K is too expensive, what is reasonable?
Are you looking for just the tent and cot/mattress - or does this budget also include 4 sleeping bags, chairs, stove, canopy, and other camping essentials?
What low temps do you expect to sleep in?

Tents are not insulated. You'll need a quality sleeping pad, sleeping bag, and clothing for warmth.

Here are some items I'd recommend:

What kind of hammock do you prefer? Something like this? or this?

u/allthetunes · 1 pointr/Coachella

Yeah my group’s canopies flew away in 2016 because of the crazy wind.

I ended up getting these for last year and they were 100% worth it. Paired with some plastic stakes I was confident it wouldn’t budge. Just got some 50lb bags of sand from Home Depot for a few bucks to fill them up.

That being said I still lowered my canopy each day to be on the safe side.

u/cgrepresentative01 · 1 pointr/HomeImprovement

Maybe try having a bench seat outside. Explain to your mail carrier to put it there. Have a lock on there and tell the mail carrier to lock it. When you get back you unlock it.. Something like https://www.amazon.com/Keter-Gallon-Weather-Outdoor-Storage/dp/B00E0JO5MG
