A quick run down:

When I saw the post of u/ChickenSuprise's desktop, it inspired me to really deliberate what I wanted and what I needed on my desk. After internal debate and struggle, I arrived at the following (from left to right):

Light: Duh. For light. My apartment is in the middle of a complex and gets very little natural light.

Black Notebook: notebook with music paper in it for me to write down my melodies and music ideas that I get.

Check Book: for monetary matters.

White Notebook: an extra journal, when I fill up my current one, which I describe in detail below since the one on the right of the computer is the one being used.

Highlighter: for science literature that I read for grad school. I plan on eventually getting rid of this and digitizing all of my literature.

Extra Black Felt Pen: I've found my standard pen. I love the Staedtler Triplus Fineliner. Generally cheap. writes on almost anything. Makes my handwriting look good.

Red Pen: When this one runs out, I'm getting a Staedtler red pen. I need this one for grading (when I T.A. for classes).

Macbook Pro 15": My laptop. It has nearly everything on it. And thank you to u/ChickenSuprise for the inspiring wallpaper.

White Notebook: My journal. My thought book. I usually just write bullet pointed thoughts in it. During events. During trips. During the day. Song lyrics. Things that I find that will help me remember something important. I try to write at least one thought down for each day. I don't date anything. It's just a book of memories.

Same Pen. Love them. I will eventually replace all my office supplies with this set.

More like $1 each.

That would make it more like $2,080 over 80 years, though I suspect those pens last longer than 2 weeks.

As far as I know is just a 'Pentel Sign Pen' but it is a brush tip, here is a link to Amazon where I purchased mine.

"A Bible that is falling apart usually belongs to someone who isn’t." —Charles Spurgeon

I highlight my Bible and write lots of notes in the margins. To highlight, I use the Zebrite Bible highlighter. It doesn't bleed through the pages, dries quickly, and doesn't make the pages stick to one another. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00GIVLUAO/ref=sspa_dk_detail_3?psc=1&smid=A292PCWTU9U0US

For note taking I use the Pigma Micron 05 Medium Point Bible Note Pen. It's archival ink, so it doesn't fade and doesn't bleed through. No smears either. https://www.amazon.com/Pigma-Micron-Medium-Point-Bible/dp/B007MHE93I/ref=sr_1_9?crid=1QNRX6ESJAE61&keywords=pigma+micron+05&qid=1555611227&s=gateway&sprefix=pigma+mi%2Caps%2C212&sr=8-9

I like stationery and journaling so I have things like https://www.amazon.com/dp/B017NEI1UG/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_QqE4AbFZ331YW , https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004AO7FLE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_CsE4AbZ5CPYX6 and https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00P7XIFZC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_fuE4AbPBJNZBY (I own the 18 pack already which is why I'm looking to get the neons) on my shopping list in case I am given/win an Amazon gift card. My younger sister who doesn't have internet at home prefers things like DVDs and books on CD.

Looks like it's the Pentel Fude Touch. I was able to find it by googling SES15C.

I think this is the same pen and I hope it is because I just ordered one!

Here's the amazon smile link for the same pen in violet

Edit: Changed both links to amazon smile links :)

Staedtler Triplus are nice fine liners and Prismacolours are good quality pencil crayons. Michales is always so expensive, so I don't go there often. Not sure how the prices compare to amazon. You might be able to find these at Staples or Walmart if you have one nearby.

I got mine from Amazon. I also got some really colourful pens.

I'll start. I have these pens and they don't feel great in my hand. New, no packaging. https://smile.amazon.com/Fineliner-0-38mm-Colored-Assorted-Colors/dp/B06XCKGXV1/ref=sr_1_2

I don't do a ton of paper grading, but when I do, it's with a purple Flair. A lot of my desk accessories are purple too - it's how I can tell when someone's "borrowed" my stuff.

Is this like anything you're looking for? I wouldn't say you are asking too much, but you may definitely need to sacrifice on quality if you're looking for price and quantity, unfortunately. My personal favorites are microns, they last forever and come in a variety of colors, but are a bit on the expensive side. Good luck! Hope you edit your post to let us know what you've decided on!

They come in [all colors] (https://www.amazon.com/Paper-Mate-Tropical-Assorted-12-Count/dp/B00UHUJDCO/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1484919434&sr=8-2&keywords=paper+mate+flair+color) too, not just black, which is what I mainly use in office. I also use them at home, I am strictly felt for about a year now. I cannot even write with a regular pen. These things have transformed my handwriting into something beautiful.

We could order all we wanted at my last job, and since I was transferring within the school, they got to come with me. I have a full box of black in my drawer, probably a year's worth! Woot!

Oh man, I LOVE that song! Best work out song that exists.

I have these really awesome pens on my wishlist. I love them and use them exclusively for work!

Hmmm. You definitely don't want to hear my saddest work story. I work in a NICU :P The funniest work story is probably the day that a girl I work with, Jessica, was messing around in a rocking chair. She was sitting with her knees in the chair, facing the back of the chair and rocking. like this. She was also singing disney songs, but that's because she's weird lol. Mike, another nurse, was talking with us and kept telling her she was going to bust her ass. "nooo I'm not!" she kept saying.
.....until she did. The best part was that our resident 1-year-old in the unit (she was there for a whole year!!! she finally went home though), BURST OUT LAUGHING AT HER. She thought it was hilarious. Jessica had a nice bruise on her butt, and Mike was satisfied with his I told you so.

/u/budgiebum be my badass VP? :)

PC load letter! What the fuck does that mean?

thanks for the contest, and congrats on the new job!!

The sharpie pens Sharpie Art Pens, are water resistant if I recall correctly.

When I completely lose my mind I’ll actually make my own paper. Right now I grabbed some $0.60 a sheet scrapbook paper with a linen texture. Might also try some tan base-colored art paper or cream printer paper.

Amazon seems to have a few different shades of grey for this pen. Either Medium Cold Grey or Payne's Grey
