Foot pegs will change your life.

I got some MOLLE seat covers that I enjoy, having pouches to keep things attached down with the doors off is key.

Shorty antenna. Same radio quality, only 5" long.

Bikini top is nice but personal preference really.

Flip open key is more comfortable in pocket.

Progrip 714, easily the best cheap upgrade you can get.

I've been running foot pegs similar to these for three years now.

I dislike the cheap LED lights for visibility. I mean....why bother having indicators at all if they're not visible? Each time I go looking for new indicators I'm like....meh the stock ones do their job just fine.

A donkey crank is a small coupling/gear-thingie where one end rotates small but the other end of it swings around in a big whoooomp motion, a crankshaft. Also known as a donkey pump. So basically saying “I’m gonna crush them with minimal effort.” heres one and here’s a more traditional looking one—from an oil field pump sometimes called a “nodding donkey”

Not really a filthy swear, but I say “I’m gonna crush your soul,” or “I’m gonna bathe in your tears” or “choke slam you through the deck.” Also I take Poseidon’s name in vain. “You should sacrifice a chicken over the side to Poseidon, maybe that’ll help” “Sweet Poseidon I need some liberty around here,” etc.

Douche-weasel is my personal variant on “buttshark”/brown-noser

I’m sure I have more, you’d probably have to ask my division though.

Dude these are what I got, and they are SWEET.

I would call them a SUPERIOR product. I'm a complete cheap-skate too and I do not regret the purchase at all. They are sturdy as fuck.

Ok, so here's the list, it's long.

Firstly, OEM parts:
Kawasaki LED Lightbar
Relay kit
12V Power Adapter
Passenger seat + frame and pegs.
Kawasaki large quick release windshield and brackets (expensive, but directs the wind higher than the puig windscreen, and I'm tall, so not many options. It's loud, and slight buffeting, but nothing too serious.)

All those can be found on kawasaki website, but shop around, as kawasaki prices are shit.

Third Party (some of these links may be sold out, but you can find them elsewhere too)

Kreiga Overlander OS-32 Drypack x2 - (Yes, the sell these individually, not paired. Yes, it's expensive. But holy hell, they are damn near bulletproof and absolutely 100% weatherproof!) I also use a 20 drypack for the top of the seat.

https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-overlander-s-os-32-drypack

Givi TS4115B Back Rest -
You'll want this if you get the givi luggage rack, really solid seat and rear rack. Pain in the ass to install, but worth all the swearing.

https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-ts4115b-back-rest-kawasaki-vulcan-s-2015-2018

Givi PL4115 Side Case Racks -
These are what I use for my soft packs. It says they won't fit with trekker monokey cases but they do. The install obstructions (yes, I mean that) suck, they're grainy and black and white, and no, you don't need to move the turn signals. It requires removing a rear frame bolt and rebolting it while holding on to the fairing mount, the backrest, and the rack has been some of the most stressful moments of my bike's life. Prepare to swear. They are rock solid though, low form factor, and super happy with them. These need the passenger pegs to install, and should be installed at the same time as the backrest.

https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/givi-pl4115-side-case-racks-kawasaki-vulcan-s-2015-2019

Kreiga OS Straps -
Unless you buy the platforms (which are kind of ugly) for the racks, you'll need these to convert the drypacks into over seat bags. They sling over the top passenger seat, and tie down snug on the bottom bar of the rack. Super easy and you don't feel them as a passenger. These are sold as a pair.

https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/kriega-os-straps?rrec=true

R&G radiator guard - the radiator on the vulcan is super exposed and eats a lot of gravel. Definetly install a radiator guard if you plan on riding back roads. This does the trick, a bit pricey for my taste, but it looks nice.

Kuryakyn Ribbed Folding Floorboards - best addition I've made to my bike. Makes long distances super comfy, and don't look out of place at all on the bike. Easy to install too. They don't scrape at all either if you corner properly and don't front load it. They do produce a strong vibration depending on where you place your heel, but I have thick soles on my boot and barely notice it even after a few hours. Would not feel good on tennis shoes though.

Splined adapter for floorboards - You'll need this to install the floorboards. Revzilla part numbers are trash and don't match up. This is the adapter to fit the vulcan. It says it doesn't, but it 100% does.

https://www.amazon.com/Kuryakyn-8813-Front-Splined-Adapter/dp/B000IOJ496

Heated grips I'm aiming for are Oxford touring grips. They're the correct length, and will allow me to keep the oem bar ends.

https://www.oxfordaccessories.co.uk/products/kawasaki-vulcan-s-oxford-el691uk-touring-heated-grips-hotgrips-motorcycle-motorbike-bike-uk-spec

The vulcan s has a small alternator though, so I'll need to do some math to make sure I have enough headway. I may have to convert my turn signals and headlamp to leds to get enough room for them, we will see!

Was also going to add 2x fuel canisters in holders at some point, vulcan has a small tank, and I don't want to run out in the woods.

These keep me almost 100% waterproof (only thing that gets wet is my hands, those gloves are mesh top, and all of these vent really well even in 90 degree weather. The jacket and pants both come with thermal liners as well so they keep me cozy when the temperature drops too. Just change out the gloves if you want to be totally weatherproof, I just like a little airflow on my fingers.

Does that rear stand lift the rear wheel? Which one do you have? I've been looking for one for me 06.

You need to get pedal risers and blocks.
These are just an example, 2x4 or aluminum box will work just as well.

I got these, but I'm going to swap them out for foldable ones. I've popped two tires and trying to wheel it with the pegs is awkward.

I went with this style seat, but I wanted a different color than brown or black so i reached out and requested burgundy. Didn't cost any extra. The price is a lot compared to some others I've seen, but I love the look.

I did this to my 300 a while back.

This is all you need for the rearset. and this for the shifter and a couple allen wrenches

I've been driving a BMW F800S for some months now and really love it. I bought the bike secondhand with the right rear footpeg missing. Since I am now starting to feel comfortable enough to have a passenger, I would like to buy a peg and install it. These footpegs are very easy and cheap when buying them online (example1, example2), but never include the bolt to attach them to the frame. I have contacted many sellers and all of them reply the same thing: they only sell the footpeg, not the bolt. I find this unusual since someone purchasing a peg would logically also want the bolt it goes with. I have no idea where to get such a bolt and don't know how to fix this. Should I just go to a general hardware store and look for a bolt that looks appropriate? If not, am I missing something obvious?

I am very new to motorcycles and don't know anyone else in real life I could ask, so thanks for any help! :)

u/TurnItOff_OnAgain · 1 pointr/Yamahabolt

What pegs did you get? I was looking at these but I'm not sure if they will be long enough to reach around the engine.

u/DocBrownMusic · 1 pointr/motorcycles

Wow! Thanks for this! As mentioned elsewhere, the prices are already good, but the discount makes things even better. I will certainly be ordering some parts through you very soon.

I wonder if you can do me a favor, actually? I put Canyon Cages on my 2013 FJR13ADG and I want to mount highway pegs onto them. But I want to use the stock pegs so they look the same. So right now I have these clamp-style mounts: http://www.amazon.com/RIVCO-PRODUCTS-CLAMP-MOUNTING-CLMP1BK/dp/B004LFOXOY/ref=pd_sim_sbs_auto_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0EF7192SP11KER00SZNT

Then I plan to order the rider pegs from you. Only I still need the clevice-type mount that the pegs mount to and seat against. Basically I just need the inner mount portion of these: http://www.amazon.com/Rivco-Products-Anti-Vibration-Highway-Pegs/dp/B005U80V6K/ref=pd_sim_sbs_auto_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=01QEB4FZAY4H2TPRVFBA

Anyway, my question to you is, is there anything you can do to find dimensions or something for the highway pegs? I'm talking about these: http://www.riders-choice.com/fiche_section_detail.asp?section=4821499&category=Motorcycles&make=YAMAHA&year=2013&fveh=206247 Specifically the dimensions from the inner face of the peg that rests against the mount to the center of the bolt hole on either tongue.

I want to take those dimensions, and then call Rivco and see if the dimensions will fit on the little pieces they have in the above-listed product, and see if they'll just sell me those little pieces.

I would be most grateful if there's anything you can do, if not no big deal because you rock already.

I found these rescue pegs which just extend the length of the stock foot peg. Not planning on taking any serious corners with my girlfriend on the back so I think they would work nicely.

She should place at least one hand on the tank to help keep her from bumping into you when braking. There are also accessories to help depending on the kind of bike you have.
