One of the review....

"I got this chappal after my aunt recommended me... There is no regret that I sold out my new bike to get this awesome third class chappal. Because I am walking all the day to reach my destination and my BP is in control and my diabetes is normal... Please buy this and be healthy, one golden opportunity for you all ... I am lending it for rent per day 500rs or 22000 steps which ever is earlier so order now and enjoy it's awesomeness...."

Working nights was what made me become aware of it—having to keep quiet when I got home, and also being woken by people “just living their lives [loudly]” when I was sleeping during the day. Some things from having a roommate that will approach me about stuff, and is as good when I approach them about stuff.

My shoes come off inside—and I’ve got a pair of Jordan slides on the cheap that I use for house shoes. Slide ons make it hard to come down on your heel, unless you want them to fly off, and they’re cushioned, so that both changed how I walk and how heavy I walk at home. With socks they’re super comfy, too.

With doors—all doors—my hand stays on the knob til it’s fully closed, and I usually put my index finger out to the doorframe so it slows my roll so I don’t inadvertently still slam them shut.

I come from an attitude now that nobody needs to be able to tell anything and everything I do from the careless noise I make, just as I don’t care to be an unwilling voyeur into their lives by hearing every little thing they do. I’m not some shrinking mouse or anything, just more in control of my movements. It isn’t really even conscious anymore, once I got in the habit.

I would recommend these adidas adilette Supercloud Plus Slides. They are super comfortable. I've bought a few pairs as gifts for family and friends (who have said they love em) back when adidas had a 50% off glitch, but I would gladly pay full price for them.

Amazon has more style variations of these slides too if you're interested. I personally have this pair.

They are probably cheaper if you can find them at a Ross but Amazon has them.

The shoes you linked to aren't going to be comfortable or useful as off-the-bike shoes. What you might want to look for are BMX style or sandal style SPD capable shoes that have soles that are deeper than the SPD cleats. Otherwise you'll be walking on the cleats themselves.

In searching for examples, I even found "commuter" shoes.

The biggest piece of advice I can give you is practice, practice, practice! When I worked in a bike shop we would tell people changing over to clipless pedals to find a place in their living room where you can sit on top of the bike and clip in and out OVER AND OVER AND OVER while you watch TV. Lean against a wall or in a doorway, heck, even just leaning on the couch while you clip in and out.

Until you have the muscle memory to unclip without thinking when you come to a red light or the end of your ride, I promise that you will fall over. It'll be funny to everyone watching, but it will hurt and it will mess up whatever you're wearing. So practice. A lot.

Ok thanks, perhaps I should reconsider my stance. Here are a couple other ones I've been considering:

They're comfy as fuck too.

It's not my favorite color style, but I'm happy to work around it for the price I paid. They're normally like $80, think I paid under $40?

It's a great looking shoe.

Bought these the other day and love them as much as my old Birkenstocks. WTW Men's Sandals

Why not both! The theory is the same, it's just the hand skills that are different. You'll probably find yourself gravitating to one or the other which is fine. Practice 30min - 1hour a day and you should pick it up pretty quickly. Tons of online tutorials for both instruments, just make sure you actually play along and do the exercises because just watching isn't good enough. Money wise you could get both a uke and mini keyboard for under $200 total.

Kala makes cheap ukuleles that sound pretty damn good. Their more expensive ones are good too, but no need to spend that much yet. Lohanu's are super popular and sound good as well.

Soprano is the more traditional size, Concert is a little bigger with a bit more fret spacing which is nice if you have big hands.

Thank you all for your help! It really has helped.
I've been able to keep comfortably smart, considering my tight budget.

Bon Marché has been my best bet for affordable plus sized clothing, and I've just discovered Simply Be, which seems to be a nice contender.

As far as shoes go, I got a pair of low booties from Asda, which are surprisingly comfortable, cheap and cute. Also, I've been to Deichmann, who sells very smart, comfortable shoes of all sorts, heights and sizes, for extremely reasonable prices.

One last question, just for the sake of it: what's the opinion on espadrilles (like these Havaianas Unisex-Adult Origine III Sneakers Espadrilles, (Navy Blue/Beige), 7 UK (42 EU (40 Brazilian)) https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B01L41BVUQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_q674Cb2M8SR52)?.

Thanks again!

Source are overpriced and not as durable as advertised. Same for Teva Naot. Get some other brand (or no-name brand) that looks sturdy (with strong stitches) and has a double-layer sole, like these cheap sandals. No sense in spending $100-$200 on "brand" sandals that tear apart in a month.

I don't know what it's called either, but these are what I have and I love them.

Would it be bad for me to use a new pair of shoes I bought for the first time on a 5k this Thanksgiving? They seem pretty similar to the ones I have now. These are the ones I have now https://www.amazon.com/Nike-Flex-2017-Running-Shoes/dp/B06VVLHSTT, and here are the new ones I bought recently https://www.amazon.com/adidas-Mens-Adizero-Adios-4/dp/B07D9H4ZM8.

Amazon has them.

u/Galileo_Figaro · 1 pointr/Chacos

I did manage to find a Z/Volv version of this webbing on amazon, and I cooked up a plan: Purchase the Z/Volv 2, send the sandal to ReChaco and take the webbing out to put into a Z/Cloud 2 footbed and sole. Customer Service told me that ReChaco only does resoles, and can't do a full footbed swap. I don't understand why this isn't possible though? Couldn't they just take out the webbing and then fix it to a new footbed and sole? I would pay the difference/full amount... oh well.
