I just sparred MMA for the first time the other day and holy fuck is that another level of tiring. Never talking shit about a fighter gassing ever again.

One question: I found it pretty difficult to grapple in the fat twins shinguards. Though a part of that could be attributed to inexperience, would it be better to have the thinner MMA shin guards and use them both for MMA and Kickboxing?

Hide my keys outside my house. Leave my phone at home.

If I must carry my keys with me I'll put a shinguard sleeve around my upper arm and keep things secure in there

Oh totally! I was constantly getting wheels to the shins. I find that the real shin guards are a little restrictive, but if you get the ones that come in a pair of socks you don't even notice them.

I use Storelli BodyShield shin guard holders (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008QA6ZWS/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_66GwDbBQ8TW9V) to hold Nike Mercurial Lite guards. The Storelli holders give me outside of ankle and leg padding when diving and sliding on some of the rocky and rough pitches I play on, while still staying pretty slim and out of the way. My only complaint is the heel strap part can get rolled over itself if I'm not careful getting my socks over them. If I had nicer pitches in my area I would probably just use standard sleeves with my guards.

$10 pair of soccer shin guards is a life save for stuff like that. This is what I use.

I decked a chick after she pulled me down by my ponytail during a soccer game. I didn't get too many punches in before the ref pulled me off of her. I got a yellow card for retaliating against her foul, totally should have gotten a red considering how much that bitches' nose was bleeding.

Edit : I should add I was wearing these while punching her

Oh I don't use ones with straps. Let me see if I can find a pair close to what I got.

I got something like these, but a little smaller and all white.

These are exactly what I have. Never have any problems with them

This is what I got:http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B004QVMB24

They work great, good coverage and not bad in the comfort area. I have taken a few falls in them and have no marks on me!

I think you should get this LEGO Lone Ranger set because who doesn't like the Lone Ranger. He's a vigilante and he might as well be a super hero! I really need new goalie gloves for soccer. I would really like these new gloves because soccer is my whole life, and Goalie is the position I play. My old gloves are ripped and worn down and I very much need a new pair for practice and for tryouts, and I would really appreciate it, my old gloves make my hands feel bunnicula!

I've never had experience with strapless shin guards, but do you think wrapping THESE STRAPS over would work just as well as socks over it?

u/misterandosan · 0 pointsr/judo

I have some soccer shin guards (with a hard shell) I got from amazon which do fine. They also have ankle guards attached.

They don't hurt your opponent when they do ashiwaza, because your shins are pretty hard anyway. And even if it does hurt a little, it's because they straight up kicked you.

Don't wear them when you're doing newaza though, the guard is a bit serrated, so it's really uncomfortable for your opponent when it slides against them.
