Bought 2 of these. Like them the best:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07H5VR672/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

So slick, they should have been OEM.

My one-person company, Mount Genie, has making mounts for Alexa and I'm going to be doing more Google Home Stuff starting with this. I have a couple sweet Mini mounts coming in the next 3 weeks. I'll put them up when they are ready.

I just wanted a beacon setup for my own Google wifis so maybe other's will too.

I bought this kit from Amazon : https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00COH7KRI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o08_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

(5 pack was the same price as the 4 pack)

u/OhHeyItsBrock · 6 pointsr/googlehome

I have bought a couple products from this seller on amazon. From google home mini mounts to google WiFi mounts. They are all great quality and always just work great. My wife is so happy that the power cord is off of the kitchen counter. Looks very clean imo.

It looks like you could just hang those speakers flush against the wall with screws (probably like a #8 pan-head) like in diagram 3 on p. 5. Space the screws equal to the center to center distance of the two keyhole slots, leave the screws sticking out like 1/8" to 1/4" out of the wall and then just line up the keyhole slots and slide the speakers down onto them. Make sure to hit a stud or use a drywall anchor so they don't fall down.

If you want to be able to angle them a bit you could get something like the omnimount 10 or the pro-mount 90, but I'd probably just go with the screws.

u/NativityCrimeScene · 3 pointsr/sonos

Here you go. I have a Play:1 mounted above the shower in my bathroom and another Play:1 mounted in the corner of my bedroom in addition to other Sonos around my house that aren't mounted.

I used Flexson wall mounts to mount them and then Wiremold CordMate kits to run the power cables. I actually used an extension cable so that it would be long enough and then have the Sonos power cable hidden.

u/ruohtas · 2 pointsr/Soundbars

I ordered these for mounting the rear speakers.

I think the MB42X/C make a great entry level 5.1 set. I would do exactly what Destruct0 said. Take the money saved and get some stands so you can get them off the TV stand.

u/sk00ter21 · 2 pointsr/hometheater

I used these to mount Polk omw 3's: VideoSecu Universal Wall Ceiling... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00C9UJWSK?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share.

They're screwed into studs. Run ghost wire and paint over it.

Note that height speakers is much easier, just put them at the top of the wall at the same width as your front left and right and run raceway or ghost wire up the wall and paint it (or not). Depending how far away you sit, it can sound pretty good too.

I agree with everyone else in the thread that you should go with the RP series if you can. Also, avoid the built in Atmos upfiring because it severely limits your placement flexibility.

u/yerFACE · 2 pointsr/HomeImprovement

How many aps did you get? I only ask because it sounds like you’re trying to maximize range.

I ended up using an outlet mount and putting them throughout the main hallway of my house. I used 3 points to get full coverage and this bracket for the outlets.

Mount:

The Spot for Google WiFi by Mount Genie: The Simplest Wall Mount Holder Stand Bracket for Google WiFi routers and beacons. No Messy Screws! (2-pack) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B077FDVWT7/

The points are about 15’-20’ from each other.

It looks great and the ap light acts as a subtle nightlight too. Mesh connections are all “great” and I see full speed throughout the house.

Maybe give this a shot before throwing cash at custom outlet drops in your ceiling? For that money you can buy extra aps as needed.

I don't have the Sanus ones, but I do have the Flexson ones, and I'm a huge fan - the design is extremely well thought out. $69 for a pair, whereas the Sanus is showing for me as $45 for one.

I can't comment on the receiver/speakers, but I have experience with those VideoSec mounts and ended up much happier with these.. They are much less obtrusive, are practically hidden behind the speaker, hold a ton of weight, and come with lots of adapters for any kind of speaker.

FWIW, I have Polk Monitor 30's which are incredibly impressive for the price. I use them as rears, but they would work equally well as fronts for your setup. They're seriously lacking low frequencies though, if you're not running a sub. I have Monitor 70's up front and they are perfect for me without a sub (but probably too much of a footprint for you).

Since you can't place the sound bar under the tv or mount it to the wall I'd look into something like this,

https://www.amazon.com/VIVO-Universal-Bracket-Speaker-Mount-SPSB2/dp/B01GGS92YE

The tv has standard 200mmx200mm vesa mounts. The sound bar should have mounting holes on the back of it. Mount the bracket (or similar) to the rear of the tv and then mount the sound bar to the bracket. I'd go above to avoid hitting the stand.

The only issue here would be if the tv's included stand tied into the tv's vesa mounting holes which it shouldn't.

u/shoeman22 · 1 pointr/hometheater

hey, sorry to stalk you, but as I read through the thread more, you have an almost identical use case to what I had to do with the tailgate setup.

That standing mount works great with these too:
https://www.amazon.com/Mounting-Dream-MD5420-Universal-Detachable/dp/B01DW1XOCY

I have it in use with a pretty fat Vizio sound bar underneath a 55" and that mount from my other post. You attach the soundbar mount arms first, then attach the mounting bracket for the stand to the back of the TV and it works like a champ. Only variable would be if your center channel has mount points (my soundbar had dedicated screw holes for mounting).

u/cjbeames · 1 pointr/googlehome
u/e60deluxe · 1 pointr/hometheater

the location of the front 3 isnt that great and the crown moulding makes the corner mount unfeasable.

anyway, if you want to go with the ceiling speakers i would recommend something like 2 sets of Polk OWM3s and an Polk OWM 5 for the center channel

http://www.crutchfield.com/p_107OWM3W/Polk-Audio-OWM3-White.html

http://www.amazon.com/Polk-Audio-Multi-Purpose-Theater-Speaker/dp/B002778FAQ/

so thats basically all your budget and you still need mounts. i was hoping you could do the corner ceiling mount but it wont work with the placement that they have already run the wires and the crown moulding.

so heres some options for mounts, though some can get pricey:

these would be great but they are black:

http://www.amazon.com/VideoSecu-Universal-Satellite-Speaker-Bracket/dp/B00COH7KRI/

heres a white one that can attach directly to the outlet ring and has the hole for the wire to pass.

http://www.amazon.com/Pinpoint-Mounts-AM21-White-Electrical-Installation/dp/B00A91WMWY/ but they are pricey and you need 5.

you can look around as well if you find something else.

its really strange that there isnt room for in ceiling. can you maybe see what is behind that plate maybe its all open behind that, i dont know then you could do in ceiling for the rear.

u/Theron_- · 1 pointr/ValveIndex

It’s your mount. I had to buy different ones and the noise went away. mounts

These are some cheap stands from Amazon (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008O4CSPE/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1). They look/work ok, but I somehow get the silver version even though I ordered the back one. Decided that returning them was too much of a hustle for $50 stands.

u/eikast · 1 pointr/hometheater

Thanks a ton. I went ahead and ordered the Denon receiver that you recommended, along with the Yamaha NS-SP1800BL (to save money). I also ordered this mount ( https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002WN1GOW/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ).

Let's just hope that I can sell my HTC Vive before my wife comes back from visiting her family to justify this purchase :)
I also purchased the receiver brand new with 3 year extended warranty (so that squaretrade would handle the shipping cost if I ever need to use warranty).

Thanks again man. I appreciate it!

Edit: The SP1800 had decent reviews and regardless it would be way better than my current soundbar. When we move (if the new location has a better environment) I can always invest in better speakers.

u/ScarOCov · 1 pointr/sonos

I use a wall mount for one of my Play:1s, with plans to install two more when I get my 5.0 set up. These are the ones I have.

u/ZeosPantera · 1 pointr/Zeos

So like this.

You will probably be best getting some brackets like this and then screwing them (short wood screws should work fine) into the sides of the daytons to angle them how you like.

u/zdierks · 1 pointr/kansascity

No. There is a "main" one that services the others wirelessly. They do all need to plug in though. I have them hooked up to these:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077FDVWT7/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/lukewarmtofu · 1 pointr/Zeos

Per your awesome posts and videos I've targeted the BM42CX as my L/C/R. Problem is I prefer the minimal look of floating speakers on brackets rather than sitting on shelves. As these don't have mounting holes, what are your thoughts on screwing a bracket to the back of these? If OK, would either of these brackets work, in both horz or vertical?

I used the Pinpoint AM10 Mounts and stuck a 3/4" chuck of wood between the mount and the wall. That way I could tilt them down far enough to make sure they hit the couch.

u/Thefritz01 · 1 pointr/hometheater

Thanks for the ATMOS advice. I was certainly confused about the upfiring speakers so I will steer clear of that.

In our upstairs family room we have a Sonos playbar mounted to the TV using something like the VIVO you linked to that we use to attach the sonos wall mount to the TV. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GGS92YE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_M4uyDbTFJ4H11

I will look into a passive sound bar as that would be the cleanest, but I would want something comparable or better to the Micca’s I currently use. I will start researching that, unless anyone wants to throw out any suggestions. :)

Do you have any recommendations on wall mounts?

I was looking at getting these (mostly cause they're cheap) but I'm not sure how these even work. How do you actually fasten the speakers to these? Are they universal?

Speakers are 16 lbs and will be wall mounted on either side of the TV. Here are the mounts I'm planning on using. They came recommended by NHT.

Vantage Point BSM-B Bookshelf Series Speaker Mounts - Black https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0000DIX1Y/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_igm2Cb5D60VHQ

TV and speakers are being mounted higher than normal and aimed down as it is setup for watching in bed. Right now the TV is on top of the dresser and it is too low to watch comfortably without propping yourself up on several pillows.

Center speaker will also be wall mounted on these.

I’m not sure exactly what your speakers are but I’ve used these for in ceiling keyhole mounting.

u/DougC1982 · 1 pointr/hometheater

I had quarter inch plywood cut the same size as the ceiling tiles and used some double sided tape to sandwich them together, then screwed the speaker mounts into the tile and wood, and drilled a hole to run wire through. These are the mounts. I like them quite a but. Very heavy duty feeling and a good price.

u/sonofalando · 1 pointr/hometheater

Ok, I'll talk to the guy when he comes back. He just did the mounting today, but is going to do the wall concealment on the 25th. Those are just mounted to a nail in the wall right now on each of them. Should that not be what's used? He talked about it like that's the way those are supposed to be mounted. I bought some speaker mounting brackets but it doesn't look like they were fully compatible with the SVS satellites.

VideoSecu 5 Black Universal Satellite and Audio Speaker Mount Bracket for Wall or Ceiling MS40B5 WM6 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00COH7KRI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apip_RApCuQIbDk5Sm

He suggested I return them. Should I only have him adjust the fronts and it sounds like I should get a mounting kit instead? Those are mounted into dry wall anchors right now. He seemed like he was with a legit company and had really good reviews. Found him through amazon setup.

u/macsrcool1234 · 1 pointr/hometheater

Doh...it sure would.

First, I tried this:
http://www.amazon.com/OmniMount-ELO-Speaker-Stand-Gloss/dp/B0056C7ZJQ

It came with 3 mounting options - a right angle adapter, some kind of post adaptor with threading on the bottom and just a straight hole on top, and adhesive.

Against my better judgement, I tried the adhesive and within one hour, a speaker fell off and the bottom of the speaker is now broken.

My next stand was this clamping one:
http://www.amazon.com/Videosecu-Clamping-Adjustment-Universal-Management/dp/B00471IP0A

Due to the triangle shape of the speaker this one doesn't really hold it securely either, and I don't want to take any more risks after already breaking a speaker.

u/IXI_Fans · 1 pointr/googlehome

You all keep missing the nice one. Here it is.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07KDYD2J8

u/Remixmark · 1 pointr/hometheater

There are a few different options out here. They all seem to involve you drilling into the back of your speakers. If you're OK with doing that then here are some I found.

  1. Option 1
  2. Option 2
  3. Option 3

Total roughly: $5,500

This is going to be a way better setup in my opinion. Now the reasoning behind why I chose this all.

Screen: Do you really want 135"? you will distort the picture more and it will not be as clear. The reason why i chose a grey screen is because of the windows behind your screen location. The grey will not reflect as much natural light giving you a better picture IMO.

Projector: Personal favorite, If you would like the Epson has good quality as well I physically have not seen it though.

Receiver: This receiver is going to preform way better with the speakers I have picked out. Denon specializes in movie like sound giving better lows and a cleaner sound in all.

Center, Front, Rear Speakers: The reason I chose Definitive Technology is because they have great sound quality and are meant for a more movie like atmosphere. The fronts I have picked out are their small tower speakers, If you want to step up you can do the 8040's which are a little larger or the 8060's which will probably be the largest I would recommend for your home theater location.

Speaker mounts, If you want to mount the rear speakers, those will work with the rear speakers.

Subwoofer: Now the reason why I say optional on this is because the tower speakers have two sub-woofers built into each. And they are fairly noticeable with the lows. If you want more lows I recommended a subwoofer up there for you.

I hope you enjoy the system I picked out, and it is right in the middle of your price range as well leaving you room for speaker wire and other things. If you want to physically hear these go to any Best Buy Magnolia store and just ask them, they should be set up at all locations.
