   You may not have noticed it being used, but I bet you’ve seen somebody wearing those memefied sunglasses: Clout Goggles Oval Sunglasses Mod Style Retro Thick Frame Fashion Kurt Cobain (White). Anybody who has exposure to the new generation of rappers (mumble rappers: think Lip Pump, Migos, etc) has probably seen these glasses in action.
   
   Also, the kids who are into YouTube culture have probably heard of #CloutGang which is basically a crew of people that rivals Jake Paul’s crew.

Do they just mean non-mirror lenses?

You definitely want polarized lenses for watching the water - the polarization is the whole point in that in reduces glare.

I think they just don't want you getting something like this (below), with highly mirror polish finish. I guess they want to be able to tell if your eyes are open and where you are looking? That's the only reason I can imagine.

Not a pen holder, but I used to clip one of these to my bags with a carabiner.

What you're looking for is a plastic aviator frame.

For a cheap option, I found these and these but I can't vouch for how good they are. There seems to be a few options made cheaply in China. If you can find ones with a polarized lens in a style you like, it may be worth picking them up and seeing how tolerable they are. Unfortunately, most of these frames can't have new lenses made for them, so you're stuck with what you have in them.

You can find a few higher-end brands but they rarely include polarized lenses in favor of gradient lenses. Gucci, Rayban, Lacoste, and Armani (and other similarly priced brands) tend to have a few styles of these frames, but will cost significantly more and will probably require replacing the lenses. However, you might still be able to find Gucci and Lacoste overstocks marked down or put on eBay if you don't mind dropping $100 to put good polarized lenses in.

Diff Kota is another one. Both good materials. Knockarounds have been great in my experience, and their customer service is wonderful but I know you didn't ask that really.

I got these myself, $3.10 with free worldwide shipping.

But these are not the best sunglasses of course, for that amount of money

one can not expect high-end glasses. If you want to spend $200 you can

get yourself some nice geniune Ray-Ban Aviators (3025) with yellow lenses.

Those look good to me, I'm buying a pair as a backup. My regular cheap goto glasses were Forte Brand (available at Performance), and of course, they're out of business now.

Just in case anyone else is contemplating buying these RockBros, I think this the exact same product, but 37% less expensive.

Edit: I ended up getting these, for $20, because the the RockBros were criticized for setting too far away from the face, and I like mine closer. The ones I bought aren't perfect, they're criticized for the frame breaking when changing the lenses, which I do regularly (clear for night, amber for grey days, regular for bright days), so we'll see if I'm any better at that than the other users. I'm willing to take the chance for $20.

The Chums float and you can crank them down pretty tight. The Knock Around are cheap enough that it matters less if I loose them, but I’m going on 3 months with no issues with this setup

I bought these Carfia sunglasses on Amazon for about $30. They're polarized, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. Only downside is that there's not much selection in terms of different styles.
