I got it here!

u/KatelynFit · 6 pointsr/running

You should wear a broad spectrum sunscreen everyday. This is true in winter. This is true if you do not run outside. This is true for everyone, everyday.

If you're running outside you should ABSOLUTELY wear sunscreen on your face and all your exposed body bits.

If creams are off-putting, then try:

a spray for your body (I'm a fan of this one: https://www.amazon.com/Coppertone-Continuous-Sunscreen-Spectrum-1-6-Ounce/dp/B0756JLW5C)

and a powder based sunscreen for your face (I'm a fan of these two: https://www.colorescience.com/products/sunforgettable-total-protection-brush-on-sunscreen-shield-spf-50https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/supergoop-invincible-setting-powder-spf-45/4893322)

Your skin type would depend on multiple factors, some modifiable, others not so much. If you're genetically disadvantaged, there isn't much you can do. Still, to get the best you can, you should definitely:

u/chemkara · 5 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Sunscreens with a PPD over 16.

The highest the PPD, the better. These are mostly European sunscreen that you can order online. The US don’t divulge their PPD rating unfortunately, so the only thing you can rely on is how high the % of the filters. I recommend Zinc Oxide of at least 15%, even better if it is over 20%.

Some of the top of my head that I know have a high % of Zinc Oxide are:

ThinkSport

Coppertone Pure & Simple

Neutrogena Sheer Zinc

Trader Joe’s Mineral Sunscreen

There are many more out there just keep in mind that a pure Zinc Oxide will have a white cast but the ones I mentioned above are not that bad with some rubbing onto the skin.

u/Hemi_demisemiquaver · 5 pointsr/india

Try La Shield.
It's slightly more expensive than usual ones in the market, but it was dermatologist-recommended, isn't greasy at all, and a tiny dollop is enough to smear all over your face, so it ends up lasting longer. I used to use Lotus matte finish SPF 40 before, which is pretty decent and cost less than this, but after using this, I've not gone back to it.

u/wonderbrah419 · 4 pointsr/surfing

This is the highest zinc oxide concentration I could find in a sunscreen. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01I21JM7A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I bought it. Haven't used it yet but it has good reviews.

I also use retinoids, but topical, for acne. It's basically the same thing.

Headhunter is great but I found I still got red around my eyes, which is where your skin is the thinnest apparently.

What i've been doing lately is headhunter stick, then top it off with desitin diaper rash cream which is like 40% or something zinc oxide. Came out white as a ghost after a 3 hour session the other week.

> But I'm not sure what I'd do about an over/under makeup situation, so hopefully somone else has a solution for you there.

I know I'm not getting the SPF advertized, but since the alternative is nothing, I apply powder sunscreen over my makeup. I use Elf, but there are other popular inexpensive ones like Physican's Formula.

u/pandaonbeach · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Seconding everything here, and offering a cheaper sunscreen alternative - Mango Mild Sunscreen. It's my favorite of all the one's I've tried.
I found that if the normal Clear BHA isn't working as well as you want it to, get the Extra Strength formula. When phasing out the normal Clear formula, I like to use the normal formula for day, and the Extra Strength at night.
I get bad reactions to benzoyl peroxide, which irritates my skin to no end and leaves it red and rashy, even when washed off. I found clindamycin to be a gentle anti-bac alternative. I get mine in my Curology rx mix, and you can get tretinoin in it too.

Since you're already in Spain, I recommend La Roche Posay. It's expensive in the US, but I'd imagine it's cheaper in Europe (It's a French brand)

Look for stick sunscreens. You will have better luck with those.

You look awesome!

  1. I'm going to Costa Rica this summer and this waterproof camera would be super awesome since it's going to be wet and rainy a lot.

  2. And these sunscreen packets, don't want to get burned in costa rica!

    C'mon...gimme these useful things!
u/keraut · 3 pointsr/SkincareAddiction

Hey, I’m a guy with “good skin”. What honestly surprised me was the quality of my skin after using sunscreen regularly — I didn’t realize how much sun affected things. I know you say you have normal skin, but some of the below should hopefully help getting started on a basic routine that’ll become evident in the quality of your complexion.

Pick up a gently cleanser like Cerave Hydrating cleanser or Vanicreams cleanser.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MSSDEPK/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_164sDbD3WQJP7

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00QY1XZ4W/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_U74sDbF98WZ87

Wash the face morning and night. It’s helpful to use a little bit of moisturizer since sunscreens are kind of hit and miss in this regard, so I’d suggest Cerave cream in the white tub to apply to your damp face as needed.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00TTD9BRC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_P84sDb7M4J10J

Afterwards, ideally, slather on a bit of sunscreen on your face, neck, ears, and other sun exposed places. My personal favorite currently is the Jack Black sun guard since it’s not greasy and I use it on my arms and hands too, Otherwise, pick up Cerave’s AM moisturizer. It’s my favorite drug store type sunscreen. A nicer one too are the EltaMD sunscreens.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003CR4KRM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_V94sDbQXPSZ8R

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00F97FHAW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_b.4sDbR7T9R88

If your face is shiny after some of thing I’d suggest picking up something like Magical Moringa from Lush that’s mattefying. A shine control powder to dab lightly on can work good too — doesn’t look like you have anything on while still taking care of your skin.

https://www.lushusa.com/face/moisturizers/magical-moringa/07218.html

At night I really see a difference in the brightness and luminosity with my skin with this “overnight mask”.

COSRX Ultimate Nourishing Rice Overnight Spa Mask, 60ml https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N13W31F/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Qf5sDbYFN01FC

That’s basically my suggestions at least. At night just use moisturizer and the mask after washing.

As far as the back acne, in the shower let some salicylic acid sit on the area for a minute or two and rinse it off. I use Zapzyt. The other thing I would recommend after the shower is to apply some Differin to the affected area — Differin used to be what a dermatologist prescribed me years ago and it now available over the counter fortunately. Should be cleared up in no time.

ah is it this sunscreen that you're talking about??

thanks!!!!

u/coraythan · 2 pointsr/artc

I should use it more often, but generally speaking I've only used it for ultramarathon races. The consequences when your race lasts 5+ hours can be bad.

I use neutrogena cooldry sport sunscreen spray. It's SPF 70 (so crazy more than enough), it's easy to apply, and it supposedly "Creates a breathable barrier that allows sweat to pass through".

I used it for a 50k that took me 4:45 with a lot of sun in semi-desert conditions in July. I applied it maybe 15 minutes before the race started and missed one spot on my back, and after the race you could really see the difference. I had one spot of definite sun burn and the rest of me was like I hadn't even been in the sun. I was kinda surprised it worked so long with so much sweating, because I did not follow its reapplication rules.

I feel like my skincare routine is so long. Haha. I'm trying to use up my hoard of samples so I'm curious how my routine will change once I'm out of those (if I ever get there).

Morning:

  • cleanse in the shower
  • exfoliate every other day, sometimes with a scrub in the shower instead of the cleanser, sometimes with a St. Ives Exfoliating Pad
  • toner
  • serum (on days I didn't exfoliate), I don't really need anti-wrinkle or firming serum at my age but like I said, I'm trying to use up my samples
  • aveeno daily moisturizer with SPF 15
  • sometimes missha bb cream or laura mercier tinted moisturizer (another sample)
  • I try to do a face mask once a week if I remember to =)
  • oh, and I use Origins Super Spot Remover for pimples. It's expensive (although it was $13 when I bought it) but it seems to be the only thing that makes the pimple go away and doesn't irritate my skin all around the spot.

    Night:
  • remover eye makeup with clinique makeup remover
  • depending on what I did that day or how much makeup I was wearing I use a makeup remover wipe or a cleanser and massage my face
  • toner
  • serum again
  • sample of clinique's dramatically different lotion, almost every night
  • lip balm, and hand lotion

There it is! Ilovethedaisypup $6.99 on More Buying Choices

Skin Aqua Sarafit Essence is a great deal, this has one of the larger packages.

This Nivea sunscreen is really lovely, one of the most cosmetically elegant sunscreens I've tried. The great thing about this sunscreen is that you can purchase a refill for only about $10

u/catcooker · 2 pointsr/aves

They require sealed sunscreen??? That's shitty. I'm a sunscreen junky and it is incredibly rare to find sealed versions. If Hard has lockers, that's the best way to not have to have a brand new sunscreen for each day.

Sunscreen pouches are kind of expensive for what you get and I've only seen them in spf 30. There are many other brands though.

This sunscreen stick comes in sealed packaging. I keep this one in my purse and like it, I just recommend to rub it in after liberally applying it. [This one] (https://www.amazon.com/Neutrogena-Sunscreen-Spectrum-Water-Resistant-PABA-Free/dp/B01BZOMWN2/ref=mp_s_a_1_6?keywords=neutrogena+sunscreen+stick&qid=1564881740&s=gateway&sr=8-6#aw-udpv3-customer-reviews_feature_div) I also use regularly but I don't remember if it comes sealed. They both apply clear and I don't find them too greasy.

This has been my face sunscreen this summer and comes in sealed packaging. It rubs in easily and has a light feel.

Asian sunscreens often are in sealed packaging and I highly recommend the Biore Water Essence and Biore Water Gel.

Spray sunscreens rarely come sealed unless you buy in 2-packs. Even then the actual dispenser portion usually isn't sealed. I just bought this and it came in an Amazon plastic bag so that might count and at least it's cheap.

Hope this helps! All but the Asian sunscreens and the pouches I've found easily at drug stores.

I like to go in with little or nothing. Unless there's a high chance of rain that day, a rain coat probably isn't going to be worth carrying around. You can get free cups of water from any vendor that has cups, and water is heavy, so you might be better off leaving the Nalgene bottle too. In my experience, I walk at least five or six miles in a day at the parks on the low end, and that kind of thing gets really heavy really fast.

Sunglasses and sunscreen are necessities, though. I recommend sunscreen wipes, like these ones. You can put a few in your pocket and reapply throughout the day. If you get those and can put your sunglasses in a pocket, you can go in without a bag at all. I go to the parks a lot, and I used to carry a bag full of stuff every time, but over the years it's shrunk to the point where I never take one into the parks.

u/phantasmagnolia · 2 pointsr/FeminineNotFeminist

Glitter Cowl Neck Maxi Nude: I want it.

Sunfood Magnesium Oil Spray: I use this every night before bed and it makes me relax. It’s expensive but I will probably continue using it.

Thinkbaby Sunscreen: Love putting it on because of the scent. It doesn’t leave that much of a white cast, but I think it is a little less strong because I tanned through it after one day of sun. I feel it gets used up fast.

Lilycup: I kind of hate them so far. I’m hoping it is because I’m doing something wrong, and that I’ll get better.

Silk & Lace Eye Sleep Mask: This covered a big part of the face and blocked out light reasonably and quite well for being white. It’s silk on the underside so my face didn’t get hot or irritated.

Loose Chiffon Top: Not my style, apparently!

Bonus: Flat eyebrows! I wanted them for a year, shaped them little by little and finally found out it doesn't fit me at all! Yesterday I tried shaping my eyebrow with a white liner and an eyebrow pencil. It turned out SO WELL! I lined the outsides of the eyebrow to literally a triangle with the white liner and filled the insides with the eyebrow pencil, so that I have a middle arch, almost like this. I felt transformed!

I also wish I could wear babydolls but they make me look unproportional.

I am WISHING for you to feel better sooner rather than later, lady! Arthritis is a bitch and a half, especially when it's cold out.

Too Faced's Better Than Sex has been on for a while. Also Clump Crusher and this sunscreen!

What about a towelette or wipe like this?
http://www.amazon.com/Coretex-SunX-SPF30-Sunscreen-Towelettes/dp/B0006GBEYE
You could almost use it while you are running...

u/MrBuddles · 1 pointr/askscience

Thanks for the suggestion - can you recommend the brand that you use?

Also, I did some quick googling on your search results and saw some articles saying to avoid "nano Zinc oxide" sunscreens. Do you have any idea how big "nano sized" is - because some sunscreens are actually listing the sizes 200 NM and I have no idea if that's the potentially bad size.

u/Dustin_Hoffman · 1 pointr/Accutane

Wow thanks! I feel a lot better after reading this. You're so right about the depression; I'll just try my best to envision the end result and that will help I think. I'll have to pick up most of those things you listed. Thanks again! Do you happen to have a recommendation for a sunscreen to use (for my face especially uz I don't want to break out)? My pharmacist said this one is pretty good: http://www.amazon.com/Jack-Black-Sunscreen-Oil-Free-Resistant/dp/B003CR4KRM . Also do you know if taking any supplements would be a good idea? Like maybe vitamin D if I'm going to be avoiding the sun a lot? Is there anything I can do to enhance the Accutane's effects? I've heard vitamin E might possibly help with this? Just curious.... Thank you so much!

u/xcdo · 1 pointr/AsianBeauty

Hm, I use the Neutrogena Dry Cool Sport Spray, which has been really nice for the summer since it's water/sweat-resistant. But tbh, I only picked this one because there was a good deal for it at Costco!!

u/various_violets · 1 pointr/TheGirlSurvivalGuide

My hair is thick but I have a tendency to get sunburned in that spot. And lately the skin on my face has started showing sun damage, which caused me to get more serious about sun protection.

I use Colorescience for my hair part, although when I bought it in the spring the price was much lower. It's powder sunscreen in a brush, and translucent. I got "fair" and it doesn't show up on my dark blond/reddish hair. I love it, especially the convenience of carrying it with me and touching up my face/head/ears, but I wouldn't pay the current price of $50. Yowza.

There's an ELF powder sunscreen that might work for this. A fraction of the cost ($6) and much more product than the Colorescience stuff. I haven't tried it yet but it's on my list. Some people say it's a little dark for people with very light skin, some pale folks say it's fine.

u/Jessica_rose_gg · 1 pointr/AskWomen

Oooh, this is up my alley!

I wear sunscreen EVERY single day, I even have a hand cream with SPF 50 that I put on before I drive. When I go on hikes I either lather up using Thinkbaby safe sunscreen for my body or I wear long sleeves and coverup. I'm Korean so having a fair complexion and taking good care of the skin, avoiding the sun, and keeping hydrated has been ingrained in me since I was little. Despite that I only started wearing sunscreen on my face diligently about 3 months ago because I thought using a foundation with SPF was enough, but I was wrong. In reality I get oily and I also don't reapply so I wasn't as protected as I thought. This resulted in new sun spots forming on my forehead and chin which I noticed right away. I got an IPL laser treatment to get rid of them literally 2 weeks ago and it helped remove the sunspots that developed overtime as well as 2/3 of my freckles. Before I got the treatment I was a big fan of niacinamide to help fade pigmentation and moisturizers or toners with Liquorice root extract for brightening (explained more in detail here.)

I could go on and on about skin stuff, but for my face I use the All around safe block essence sun milk SPF 50 by Missha. This one is the best for me because it's in a creamy liquid form (essence vs cream) that blends well into the skin and actually adds moisture which helps my foundation apply smoothly. No white cast, no piling, no oiliness, only good things. I've tried the Sunprise Mild airy finish SPF 50 sunscreen by Etude house which is super popular but found the texture was too thick for me to apply on my face every day so I use it on the backs of my hand or neck if I'm going outside.

I'm 26 years old and this is my skin now with a light BB cream. You can see that my freckles are pretty dark because the IPL laser makes them darker before they eventually flake off, so this was taken about 3 days ago and those are now gone completely. I think applying sunscreen and following a 3-5 step skin care routine with Asian products will help with premature skin aging, wrinkles, sun damage in the future. The IPL laser was my first cosmetic treatment which was a birthday gift, but I am considering getting facials every once in a while to keep hyperpigmentation at bay. Also, I don't get a lot of sun exposure because I avoid it like the plague. You'll see me at the beach covered up or spending 15 min lathering sunscreen on until I'm a pale ghost basically.

u/corndogsareeasy · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

That particular product gives me hell when layering other stuff over it (I wanted to use it as a day treatment) because it's so sticky, and was causing all my stuff to pill over it as well. I'd be sure to wash your face in the morning with a water-based cleanser so that it's completely removed. For a silicone- and avobenzone-free sunscreen, you're best off looking at organic/natural physical sunscreens- the only ones I could find in a quick search were this one, which looks like it's out of stock, and this one, although I have zero experience with either product, so I can't give you a personal review.

u/rubiredd · 1 pointr/philadelphia

I suggest you try this one:

Kao Nibeasan protect water Gel SPF50 / PA +++ [refill] (125g) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SM995AC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_0mtTAb4BDC984

I am fair skinned and outside most of the day in the summer and it works so well. A lot of American sunscreens, even oil free ones, tend to sting or make my face sweat more and then feel like this hot greasy layer on my skin. This stuff you absolutely cannot tell you're wearing it.

u/sunrash · 1 pointr/SkincareAddiction

I went to Cuba for a week in June and the entire time I was there I used Blue Lizard Baby sunscreen (or sensitive, both are the same). My skin was literally purple because I had so much on BUT it definitely worked better than any other. Not one sign of a reaction. However on the last day I was there I got lazy and didn't apply before I went swimming and got the worst reaction I've ever had all over my body. Blue Lizard is a physical sunscreen so I think that's why it worked so well, but the tint was a problem for me and it was slightly greasy. I highly recommend it if you don't have a problem with the white cast.
