I think this is the same lamp: https://www.amazon.com/Makion-Contemporary-Minimalist-Lighting-Material/dp/B078PN5LJQ

I found other links, but they were through AliExpress. So, I figured this was probably the most reliable site to link.

I'll remember to reply with specific examples, in general it could be like a "minimalism wallet" or "minimalist t-shirt" or organizing gimmicks. When I first got into it I almost bought a new pair of sandals, wallet, skateboard, and backpack for example. I have perfectly fine shoes, my wallet's been the same since high school and is fine, I ended up fixing my old bike and ride that everywhere, and I just cleaned my same backpack as I've always had and use that daily.

In more words than my original post, people fall into the trap of thinking you need to buy or own or do something specific to be a minimalist. While some minimalists do have a really modern and sleek aesthetic, replacing stuff with minimalist stuff yields little gain. In general, everyone's unique.

Here's some products like a minimalist wallet for men, table lamp, watch, another lamp.

Some googling led me to this Amazon page. Tagging /u/contaminatedesert as well.

Be aware that the lamp shades can be slightly different colors. Mine were and Amazon just sent me a new one!

Looks like the remote for a Living colors lamp

No, that'd be fine for your desk though. Something like a salt lamp, a table lamp with a base and shade in neutral colors like this, or maybe something like this? I think if you got the last one in black it would help balance the all the black on the other side of the room.

If you keep your desk, I think you need a taller shelf unit/bookcase for your printer and stuff. If you don't, I'd get a longer desk that can hold the printer on top and keep the wooden cubes underneath. Ikea has tons of cheap table top and leg options. I really like this chair from them and I think the yellow/beige with a black/white base would good in your space. A stand for your macbook would also give you more desk space.
I second the potted plants, some smaller ones for the window sill, and something above the bed. I think your ac doesn't look entirely awful, but the filter probably needs a good dusting.

Overall, this is a huge improvement. Nice job!

Be up for sharing and meeting your neighbors. I bring more booze than needed to share with people, invite people to play games, will flip pancakes for breakfast with coffee for whoever stops on by, and chat to random people. My camp ground has becomes a standard place people would come chill out at and it's been fantastic!

You can chill with us! Just shoot me a note when you get here and we can crack a beer in celebration to your first event.

A few other things for camping

  1. shade. Not your tent, but some other form of shade. Your tent will become like an oven during the day.

  2. sunscreen and bug spray!

  3. water

  4. Fans, either handheld fans or small USB powered one, a little breeze is better than none.

  5. bring things to do during the day, there is a lot of downtime, so a few easy games (Uno, beerpong, cards against humanity, "Drunk, stoned, or stupid", etc.) really helps the time fly. Load your cellphones with Movies. I have a new game called fear pong - it's beer pong, but with dares, I really wanna give that game a go!

  6. Bring food for an easy breakfast. Hung over as hell and hungry, having something on hand so you don't have to wait in line to get food, is a godsend. I'll bringing ice coffee in the morning so we can have coffee ready to go in the morning.

  7. a testing kit. A minor point but I always bring a kit, friends find 'stuff' on the ground and I'd rather them know what it is, before they pop it. I've seen a few people just pop it and see what it does.

  8. Take a shower right after the festival! Their are shower rooms (Which is fantastic) but the lines get really long (like a 2hr wait) in the morning. Go take a shower right after the festival with no line and feel super clean.

  9. Have a way to identify your tent in the dark. I used a glowing moon last year (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B077HPFGMJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1)

    For the Festival itself

  10. Have a blast

  11. bring a USB glow stick or something, if you need to go to the bathroom, or need to switch venues, having a glow stick that each of you have makes it easier to stay together.

  12. if you're bringing a camel back, put everything inside the camel back into a 1gallon see through ziplock baggie. At security, you can pull the zip lock baggie out, and the security guys can quickly look it over, peak inside your camel back, and your g2g. Security guys also appreciate it as it makes their life WAY easier.

  13. Don't forget to refuel. Between sets, get some food, drink some water, relax a bit

  14. DO NOT GO HARD THURSDAY NIGHT. By Saturday you will be dead and hurting (having made this mistake at EDC before.)

u/icarusthewolf is right, I just replaced mine this past spring for my e92 335i (I believe they have the same headlights). the bulb is the D1S. Definitely get them from amazon, they are OEM and same color as original. Do not get them from the dealer, IIRC they charge like $250 a bulb, absolutely ridiculous.

You should definitely just do both at the same time. The other one might be close to being done as well, and plus, the colors probably won't match since the colors change with age.

I didn't think it was terrible to do, pretty easy actually, except I didn't put the liner back on correctly after the first one, so I had to take it off and do it again (just frustrating to undo all screws because it was cold outside).

Don't touch the bulb with your fingers, you want them very clean (no oils, etc.), and make sure you don't accidentally scratch them along the housing as you slide them into place. You probably will want to take a look online for a DIY guide on how to do this. Find a couple and compare them. Reason being is that I found instructions in one guide telling me to incorrectly take off the clip that holds the bulb in place. I was trying and trying to remove this clip as the guide said to but I couldn't get it off, then I realized that the guide was wrong and that you need to unlatch the clip while the guide was essentially telling me to take the clip off. I'm so glad I wasn't successful in actually taking the clip off because it would have been impossible to put back on. Would've been swearing all night trying to get it back on.

I know I didn't explain that well, memory is a little hazy on this.

u/trackdaybruh · 2 pointsr/malelivingspace

I believe it's this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GY5GN14/ref=strm_sims_nad_undefined_undefined

Amazon also has many different versions of the lamp (darker wood, etc.)

The lightning they are using looks like it could be Philip Hues.

u/member_one · 2 pointsr/Hue

Seeing as they go for $50 on Amazon I'm going to say you should come down in price. I bought These for my night stand and have been enjoying the modern feel of them.

I had good luck with this bulb. Matched the temperature of what was in the other side pretty well.

u/unfeelingzeal · 1 pointr/lifx

i'll try to get some pictures later today when i get off work.

in the meantime, i see that you're using this floor lamp from ikea, is that right?

how many sockets does it have? is it just one up at the top and one on the arm? if that's the case, i'd recommend you go with a mini on the arm, and an a60 at top. the bigger, brighter top will light up the whole room much better if that lamp is your own source of light, and the mini should cast just enough light to read/study with since it can be aimed over your shoulders onto your desk from behind you.

i actually use this ikea lamp in our study over a giant beanbag chair just for reading, with an a60 inside. although we also have two desk lamps, the big one from ikea illuminates the room nicely on its own at around 80-90% brightness. for reference, our study is roughly 12x10ft.

4mtx8mt, if i'm calculating right...is about 13x26ft? if so, you'd probably want another lamp in that room unless you like to keep things generally darker.

I got a similar one from Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MZ7UPOM

Fiber optics, yup. http://www.amazon.com/Creative-Motion-Battery-Operated-Fiber-Chrome/dp/B0007PCEN4/ref=pd_sim_sg_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1CSC0WS6GKHXJHGAGH7S Tilted at about a 20 degree angle. The Strike Zero is also tilted back at a 20 degree angle so that they line up.

u/ddmkr · 1 pointr/Warhammer40k

It's 530lm according to Amazon. I would not call it very bright. Right now I use Velleman VTLAMP6 which has 3x1150lm bulbs. 'Eavy Metal team use this lamp: https://www.amazon.com/Daylight-Company-UN1190-Natura-Light-11/dp/B00NG0AY9I which also have more than 3000+ lm output. This is very suitable lighting for miniature painting and I can highly recommend it.

It was done with the Iris: https://www.amazon.com/Philips-709996048-Living-compatible-Ecosystem/dp/B00BGMI3DC

> Can you try the same hex code adjustment with the Hue system?

Sadly my "Living Colors Gen 2" lamp can only be altered by a "analog" remote controller...

https://www.amazon.com/Philips-709996048-Living-compatible-Ecosystem/dp/B00BGMI3DC

Philips Hue came out after that and uses also a wifi signal and is adjustable by a smartphone. I guess the app for it allows to set the color by a hex code...

Also, a friend of mine has the portable one he brings with him on business trips and uses the Bluetooth on his phone. Kinda want to get this with my next purchase since a travel a lot (and sleep while traveling sucks).

Spent some time scrolling through my Amazon purchase history and this is what I got:

u/beige4ever · 1 pointr/malelivingspace

a few stick-on or clamp-on LED lights behind the TV. I have a USB powered one that goes into the USB port of the TV so I get instant ambient light when I turn on the TV.

But maybe you want to control it a different way, there is a mind-boggling array of options inc. lighting kits, app-controlled lights, et. al.

I also like the soft more natural glow of traditional bulbs and these are popular. I have a few around my place

you could just buy one for less than 1/3 the price and you don't have to make it
