If you have money to spend, I'd use a camera like This along with an adjustable arm like this one and attach the arm to something high up and look down. I used a similar setup for playtesting other card games and had a meterstick taped down on top of a bookshelf, attached the camera arm to that, and the camera directly above the playmat. In total will cost about 60 bucks but is as easy as it gets if you have to move it somewhere else.
If you already have a camera and a tripod, you may be able to secure that in a similar fashion to a nearby bookshelf though I dont know if you can get a perfect top down like you could with an adjustable arm as linked above.
Best of luck!
my solution for that:

It's this $20 arm on Amazon.
https://www.amazon.com/Suspension-Scissor-Tripod-Holder-Logitech/dp/B01N77YBLU/ with https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Walway-Universal-Smartphone-Attachment/dp/B06Y3W6Z2T/
Hell ya it has 3 modes for yellow white and mixed light and you can change levels and it's not bad at all with the mixed light. As my first light ofcourse it was awkward having a light on my face but easily adjusted heres the one I got if anyone is interested https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07H3NRJ7H/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_648zDb2ZFW8JG
I don't extend the cable but I get the most out of the included cable by using this arm mounted to my desk vs. clipping it to the monitor. https://www.amazon.com/Anivia-Webcam-Suspension-Scissor-Tripod/dp/B07V31V8W9
This one isn't much. Looking back through my Amazon history, this one runs about 40 bucks full price but they are on sale a lot.
People recommend the Rode PSA arms but they run more like 100 bucks and I don't see them on sale very much. I don't need insane adjustability so this one works perfect.
I've been using this one since March of this year with an Audio Technica AT2020 mic and it's perfectly fine, 0 issues so far and it even survived a move.
Decent mic arm
Pretty good mic
Phantom power supply which you need because this is a condenser mic and requires external power to operate
Pop filter because duh
Decent Headphones imo
Total: 132.55 with sales.
Audiophiles will probably jump down my throat for this list but this is an okay starting point if you want decent equipment. The mic's a little quiet but this can be fixed computer-side.
I bought this shock mount and this arm for my Yeti to save some money. One of the two (believe the arm) included a brass thread adapter that was needed. If you want to keep things inexpensive, those work well for me, with the caveat that the Yeti is heavy enough that you may need to readjust the height every few times you use it.
Thanx

Just to give reference this is what I have because currently I’m streaming in my living room so it’s attached to my coffee table 😂 https://www.amazon.com/Webcam-Light-Stream-Selfie-Logitech/dp/B07G379ZBH/ref=mp_s_a_1_3?keywords=webcam+stand+with+light&qid=1573164038&sr=8-3
I will say it does get very bright and streaming for more than two hours staring straight at it. It really hurts your eyes! Lol. Once I get a capture card, and move into the office in my house I will be adjusting it out of my point of view so I don’t think it would be a problem anymore.
I use this Etubby [Heavy Duty] Upgraded... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FJABIEM

I got 3 of these lights. 1 in front of me and one on the left and right of me.

Lately I use a webcam on a gooseneck monopod? this it has a clamp so I just clamp it to the table, point it down and flip vertically in obs. clip on led light as well next to it. I use an old ipad but you can also use your phone to track chat. I do this at the table next to my desk, then just rotate to do anything on the computer. The camera on me just sits next to the ipad. I can't have a petmanent setup because lack of space but this has worked pretty well.

No I got this with this adapter
Its plenty sturdy and adjustable. The yeti is actually surprisingly light once you take it off that stand that it comes with.
https://www.amazon.com/Etubby-Adjustable-Desktop-Microphone-Suspension/dp/B01FJABIEM
This is the stand I'm using right now for the yeti. I have had it for almost a year and it has worked well for me. I move it around quite a bit with no problem mostly swiveling it toward or away from me. Once in a while I loosen the screws and reposition it but keeping it finger tight is enough so it doesn't drop.
Why not get something like this?
https://www.amazon.com/Flexible-Swivel-Holder-Logitech-Webcam/dp/B071VR8PWF/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=webcam+arm&qid=1556208120&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1
Clips onto your desk.
I've got this one, which works well for me, as I don't have the space to put a tripod on my desk. I just balance my cam on top of the cell phone mount and it's been a lifesaver. 3 different light colours, and multiple brightness options.
swivel mount
I did. And originally I thought I had got a Neewer one but it is not, but has very good reviews for a real cheap price which is likely why I got it :)
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FJABIEM/
I ended up doing this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FJABIEM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Because my friend recommended it and it's massively on sale.
I also ordered this as most people recommended it: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014XH3AKM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Move the mic closer to you (your mouth). If it's on a desk invest in one of these ... https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FJABIEM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Actually quite a few channels were built off of that simple little Blue Snowball. What are you finding is interfering with your use of the Snowball? Background noise? Keyboard clicking? Echo?
Most of that can be taken care of with Audacity, the rest I've managed to remove with...
Since you were super helpful what do you think about this? https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B07G379ZBH#Ask
Has different temps and I could technically mount the cam to it also.
It was an Etubby
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FJABIEM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm currently using this for my blue yeti, https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FJABIEM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
You also need https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B014XH3AKM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o04_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
And you're set!
Yup, it's a Yeti. I had to buy a combination of things to make it work since the actual Yeti brand shock mount is really expensive IIRC.
I bought these two items:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01FJABIEM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s02?ie=UTF8&psc=1
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BFY6AEO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
that shock mount works suprisingly well. It's cost effective.
Yes, there's a market for all body types. Many sex workers are pleasantly surprised at the level of demand for their "look". However, you will likely need to hustle more and it may take you a little longer to find your audience if you don't have a classically beautiful body. CamModelMom has tips on getting started as a plus size cam model.
You can get started with just your computer's webcam or a phonecam. People have shot feature films on phone cameras.
The key to getting good video out of a phone camera is to learn to take advantage of natural lighting, and lights you already may have (such as desklamps, worklights, Christmas lights). I recommend reading about how to light / film yourself first, then decide what kind of lighting you need:
If you have some money to spend, I would recommend the following as a basic kit.
Camera, and camera boom. The Logitech C-922x has a built-in microphone.
Next, upgrade your lighting:
Finally, upgrade your sound:
You can spend hundreds or thousands more for better quality and easier to use equipment, but with the above kit, you should be able to get professional results. Depending on what your niche is, it may be worthwhile to spend money on costumes, tip-activated sex toys, room decorations, BDSM equipment, etc.
Hey, all!
I'm looking into getting a microphone with a shock mount, microphone arm, and pop filter. It will mostly be used to record singing, instruments, and voice over work.
At the moment, the Blue Yeti has my attention; it seems to be pretty universally praised, and it doesn't seem like it's all that expensive.
As far as the shock mount goes, I think Blue Yeti has its own proprietary one? I'm also looking at this pop filter and this microphone arm.
Any recommendations?
Thanks, guys!
Here's my setup. Looks like this. My lights are mounted using a 1/4"-20 camera gooseneck mount with a thread pattern that some microphone boom arms also use:
If your mic boom uses a 5/8"-27 pattern, then you might need this adapter:
Basic setup for a 4-person podcast:
Total: $943.
Yeah I do its this Etubby Adjustable Desktop Microphone Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand Holder https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01FJABIEM/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_4.tbAbF6173SA
This projector
This arm, clamps right to edge of the table.
I add in a Bluetooth speaker (the projector's sound is a little tinny) and a Chromecast. Some white contact paper on the table for a nice high contrast screen.
If you can find an iPhone mount that has the same kind of screw attachment, yes. I think it's the standard camera tripod screw mount, but I could be wrong. Link for specifications: https://www.amazon.ca/Suspension-Scissor-Tripod-Holder-Logitech/dp/B01N77YBLU
I jsut made the switch from a Blue Yeti to a Dynamic mic and XLR set up. I'll post what i picked up. May be a little over kill for solo but gives plenty of room for expansion.
First up, the MIC
Audio-Technica AT2005USB Cardioid Dynamic USB/XLR Microphone
This as it states is a DUEL USB and XLR Dynamic Mic. Since I got it i have loved using it for LEt's plays to just Team chat in games and at Lan Parties. It's got what you expect from a USB Mic. Has a Headphone jack and on board volume for the headphones, And an ON/OFF switch. But then it is also XLR compatible. So it's not something you will toss out the door when you move to XLR.
To go with it i got a desk mount Etubby Adjustable Desktop Microphone Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Stand Holder and some better Mounts for the stand. I have it set up so i just push it out of the way when i don't need it.
As for a mix board i have picked up this
Behringer Q1202USB 12-Channel Mixer.
As in the name as well this is a USB mixer. This does have phantom power if needed, has 4 XLR Inputs , and 12 Channels. And it's only 100 bucks or less depending on Amazon's Mood. And if you got any Music stores around you, This is also sold by GUITAR CENTER in the states, So you may be able to find it locally for same or cheeper.
Since i got it, I Had a little bit of a learning curb and the need to turn up the Compression on the mic channels. First recording with it was well a little blown out. I use this even when solo now cause I get more control over the MIC levels. It's easy to use in windows as it is very much plug and play. Shows up as USB AUDIO CODEC in windows. And if you want to, you CAN send you audio back out through it. Though that part i'm still learning on if it's usable in recordings or not.
I'm Not sure how much Cost wise that will Translate into £'s. But this over all Cost me $180 just for the mic and Mixer. The Mic did come with an XLR cable with it, so you do not need to buy one unless you need it to be longer.
Long post, I Know, But hopefully that gives a few useful suggestions for ya.
This is the mount that I bought. https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01N77YBLU?psc=1&ref=yo_pop_mb_pd_title
And the webcam I bought
https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Widescreen-Calling-Recording-Desktop/dp/B006JH8T3S/ref=pd_aw_fbt_421_img_2?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=XTTHK5N4Z767J62PRWEQ
I have a dry erase battle map and we run our games on Google Hangouts for over a year now. I like Hangouts because it's integrated into calendar invite s so it makes scheduling easy. I've usually got one laptop camera on my face and one on the map or other assets.
Definitely invest in one of these: Desk Clamp Mount Suspension Boom Scissor Arm Tripod Stand Holder for Logitech Webcam C922 C930e C930 C920 C615 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01N77YBLU?ref=yo_pop_ma_swf
We haven't done roll20 because I haven't wanted to move 100% digital as a DM.
We are very excited however about the potential rollout of Discord's video features. Definitely keeping an eye on it and might migrate over.
Something like this might work clipped to a vent on the dash (the zoom h1n is very lightweight) though I cant promise this wouldnt swing all over the place during a drive: https://www.amazon.ca/Tripod-Gooseneck-Holder-Adapter-Logitech/dp/B01M4MOD7O/ref=asc_df_B01M4MOD7O/?tag=googleshopc0c-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=292901659842&hvpos=1o1&hvnetw=g&hvrand=12254679766674787973&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9061009&hvtargid=pla-493351703658&psc=1
The condo I rent has dropped ceilings, so I used clamps with flexible necks for my mounting solution. I just attached the clamp to the metal frame of the drop ceiling. The neck is nice as well, since you'll be able to position the lighthouse just right.
Something like this. These weren't the exact ones I bought, but the ones I do have, have been going strong since june 2016.
So guys a found the solution to my problem
25 inch Flexible Jaw Long Arm Swivel Clamp Clip Mount Holder for Logitech Webcam C922 C930e C930 C920 C615 https://www.amazon.ca/dp/B071VR8PWF/ref=cm_sw_r_other_apa_i_t0hvCbXYMDM9M
25 inch Flexible Jaw Long Arm... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071VR8PWF?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
If you’re limited in space, my solution has been to mount an LED light on one of these stands, and clamp it to the back of my desk. Gives me a little more flexibility than mounting it on top of my monitor.
I use these lights, if youre interested.

Niet duur en heel stevig
You can use a cheap microphone arm / desk clamp to attach your webcam, or pick up some cheap PVC pipe at your local hardware store and build your own stand. Loads of DIY videos and info online using PVC for overhead camera rigs.
Those are the cheapest options I’m aware of. Obviously, there are more expensive options, but both of those are inexpensive and easy.
Here is a mic arm / desk clamp:
