I honestly just went with the cheapest one i could find on amazon prime that had decent reviews. So far it seems like it's good quality.

Can't call it BIFL but I bought this one for my wife 8 months ago and am completely satisfied with it. Cover washed many times and is still soft, been abused by cats dogs and toddlers and is holding up well.
Only gripe is I ripped one of the inner ties that holds the cover in place from trying to tie it too tight. Needle thread and a strip of fabric and it's good as new.

I got the 48x72 15 lb. I’ve heard it does wonders for insomnia, I’ve got it too
P.s. I have this blanket Amazon and love it. It's not as expensive as a lot of them out there.
From what I've read (sadly I don't have one myself), this one is apparently great for hot/sweaty sleepers because it's made of bamboo fiber, but it's expensive - $175. It's got a ton of good reviews all over the place, so this is actually the one that I have on my wishlist.
I've also been looking at this one which is 100% cotton, and it's much cheaper than most weighted blankets at $90 so if price is a problem it seems like a good option! The cotton probably isn't quite as cool as the bamboo fiber, though. And I think that because it's thin, it might be easier to feel the beads though, so if you're sensitive to that then this probably won't work for you.
Make sure to pick out the weight option that corresponds to your body weight - that info is in the product descriptions- and the right size! (Btw, I'm a guy so "man" was correct!)
The link is below. For me, because I have a purple mattress, the mattress is quite cool, and therefore, I don't sweat. However, I wouldn't think it would make you sweat even with a regular mattress.
Warning: although it is soft, it is nothing like the softness of a blanket. However, since it is weighted, the blanket does not shift around and just lays on top of you. Therefore, the texture shouldn't affect you because of the lack of mobility.

Funny enough.... i just bought one of those weighted blankets. It is fricken AWESOME!! I got the 15 lb blanket but they have 20 lb ones too. You can get them at Bed Bath & Beyond, Walmart or Amazon. They are so nice for the RLS.

It was about $200 at the time (which I felt insane for spending on a blanket, but I was desperate), but it looks like prices have dropped. I see several nice-looking 25lb blankets in the $120-$150 range.
Get a duvet cover and a weighted blanket if you want something thin but warm

My impression is that they'd be too heavy for our (admittedly picky) preferences. That said, this 15 lb king size one from amazon seems like it might be good. But I really can't tell how cool it is (it looks like a normal warm comforter), and I don't really want to roll the dice on $140.
