While I can’t help you diagnose over the internet, I don’t know why you didn’t just buy one of these . Would have saved you time and there would be no risk of breaking anything. Best of luck.

This is probably the best option for those who have Wired Xbox 360 controllers and want to use them on the PS3.

I actually use the XCM Cross battle Adapter which I bought 4 years ago for $40. Absolutely no lag of any kind and works perfectly with my Xbox 360 wired.

EDIT: You can find a few of my particular model here on Amazon along with some reviews of the product.

u/jbigboote · 6 pointsr/xbox360

look at the label on your supply for the watt rating. it will be 203w, 175w, or 150w. if it is 150w, then any of three will work. if it is 175w, then 203w and 175w supplies will work. if it is 203w, then you need to find another 203w supply.

just hit up craigslist or eBay and find any working supply. I see RROD 360s for sale on craigslist in my area quite cheap, $20-$30, and typically they include working power supplies. if you are in the USA, here is a 203w for $22 delivered on eBay.

this one on amazon looks fine too, but it is $30 and I think you need prime for free shipping on it. I did not read the reviews, but this says it is 203w, so it's pretty easy to check that. the 203w ends will work with any old style Xbox 360, regardless of what supply they originally came with (203w, 175w, 150w). If they send you a supply with a different watt-rating, then yeah, that could be a problem, if your 360 needs 203w.

It wouldn't be balanced for people playing FPS games with a controller. You would basically need a mouse to compete.

I would love to see mouse support on the 360 but I can't see it happening through Microsoft. There is this, but it is 3rd party.

u/un_leche · 4 pointsr/gaming

There's actually a device that acts as a hub that allows you to use Xbox 360 wired controllers on the PS3. I personally think both controllers have their pros and cons but I was thinking about getting one of these adapters for sports games on my PS3.

Is this what you need? If not, point me in the right direction. Fuck shit, I'll buy you one.

u/c_wolves · 2 pointsr/gaming

Try this i havent personally tried it but plan to because I aswell prefer the xbox controller over the PS3.

u/Compupaq · 2 pointsr/techsupport

Here's two other methods you could do if you don't mind spending money:

Buy the Xbox 360 Wireless Adapter (more expensive solution):

  • The official one from Microsoft
  • Slightly cheaper 3rd party one

    Buy a wifi ethernet bridge:

  • Here's a cheap one
  • There are other ethernet bridges available on amazon, just search for "wireless ethernet bridge". The one I linked has instructions on how to set it up in one of the reviews.

The second option is slightly more involved. You'll have to hook up the bridge to a computer to do the initial setup before it'll work for your 360. The first method is simpler, only requiring that you set up the network settings on the 360.
u/Xolcin · 2 pointsr/xbox360

The official Xbox 360 brand wireless adapter runs about $80. I bought this one on Amazon for about half and it works perfectly fine.

http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-Network-Adapter/dp/B003D3OOYY/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377448696&sr=8-1&keywords=xbox+360+wireless+adapter

u/pointfivenine · 2 pointsr/MvC3

The inline adapters I"ve seen were either had bad latency, or ridiculously expensive. Of course I don't know how to shop around other than amazon, and the local game store is out of them.
EDIT : And that one is sold out, as well. :(

u/elnombre · 2 pointsr/gaming

You can use a keyboard and mouse to play xbox 360 games. There's an adapter you can buy.

Either way your monitor will support DVI which is just HDMI without the sound channel. So if you want a digital signal you can buy a simple(cheap) HDMI to DVI cable, but do to the fact that DVI does not have audio you will have to by a third party adapter like this one and plug it into your speakers/sound system.

Edit: The third party adapter is only required if you do not have an "Xbox S" or you do not use digital audio.

This is what you want, you have to use a corded controller (not a plug and play controller either), but, it works great, I've used it on my Gen1 PS3 and I use it on my new ps3. Def a great buy if you like the Xbox controller!

u/P3na1ty · 2 pointsr/xboxone

Blow out both. There's a fan in the power supply.

Unless something crazy happened I don't see any reason the console would just die.

You want to get a 2.5mm (male) headset splitter to 2x 3.5mm female (one for the mic, one for the speaker): example.

u/sympaticosquirrel · 2 pointsr/gaming

There are adapters for the ps3 that let you use 360 controllers.

http://www.amazon.com/Cross-Battle-adapter-RUMBLE-Xbox-360/dp/B001O89YTU

Better hope it's usable on the ps4 (probably not) or that they come out with a new adapter.

u/SucculentSoap · 2 pointsr/xbox360

XCM Cross Battle adapter I have it. It's awesome. I'm a regular guy, not advertising.

u/XxCorey117xX · 1 pointr/xboxone

I got this one a couple months ago when my power supply crapped out. It has worked great but something to know is that unless you buy an expensive one or a MS one you are going to be able to hear it. Sounds like a little dirt bike revving its engine. My tv drowns it out so might not be an issue for you either but just so you know. Also I have heard that if you use instant on for your xbox settings you will be able to hear the power supply even when it's off since it's not completely off. I use power saving mode for that Xbox so I can't say whether that's true or not.

Tl;dr: this cheaper option works great but may be louder than expected. I was still happy with the purchase but YMMV.

u/adamacuo · 1 pointr/linux_gaming

I've bought a few of these:

https://www.amazon.com/Wireless-Compatible-Xbox-360-Controllers-Platforms/dp/B00LAAWMSW/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1521477727&sr=8-20&keywords=xbox%2B360%2Bwireless%2Breceiver&th=1

They work better in Linux than in Windows for whatever reason. In Windows you need to specifically set them up in the Device Manager and they tend to be a little glitchy, but under Linux / SteamOS I've had no problems whatsoever.

u/djlewt · 1 pointr/gaming

You are correct, there is certainly a large sports games market, as well as single player games like the FF series, but even those folks mostly got their 360s with Halo or CoD or BF3 and I bet the large majority of their online players play an FPS. That's why the adapter is a POS hack device by a 3rd party manufacturer, if MS wanted to release a proper adapter they could in a second, they know what it would do to their core audience that buys the gold memberships every month.

u/Mako_ · 1 pointr/xbox360

Here is the one I use, and it works great (no discernible lag). There are cheaper ones out there that work well apparently. Do a search on Amazon for "cross battle adapter".

u/hallowed-mh · 1 pointr/gaming

Start Here

I'm not saying buy that one, it's just the first one that came up with a quick search that would fit. Do some research, find a seller/product combo you're happy with, and there ya go.

u/RabidRaccoon · 1 pointr/gaming

It can be done

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y9fzM6FlZRM

http://www.amazon.com/Xfps-360-Keyboard-Mouse-Adapter-Xbox/dp/B0010ZH3V8

The XBox controller is HID class just a bit obfuscated, I'm sure you could work out a way to get keyboards and mice to work.

u/eyesofthesouth2 · 1 pointr/xbox360

is this what you are lookin for? i dont have a slim so i dont really know.

(Kinect 360 adapter 8$)[https://www.amazon.com/Adapter-Kinect-360-HandHelditems-Sketch-Universal/dp/B005EIXVAE]

(XB1 Kinect adapter 48$)[https://www.amazon.com/Microsoft-9J7-00001-Kinect-Adapter-Windows/dp/B00NMSHT7E]

Still pretty expensive for the XB1 adapter but not more expensive than the Kinect itself.

u/reworkvotingsystem · 1 pointr/pathofexile

Pseudo solutions like that are nothing but a scam, read the reviews on this thing for x360 for example:

https://www.amazon.com/XFPS-3-0-Sniper-Keyboard-Mouse-Adapter/dp/B0010ZH3V8

I have yet to see something that works precisely and reliably. (I can already see the input lag in the video you linked.)

u/Kuiper · 1 pointr/gaming

Third-party hardware enabling mouse support for FPS titles isn't exactly new; accessories like this have existed for quite awhile already. They never really caught on due to the high cost (which this new device will likely suffer from as well due to the $90 price tag) and the fact that it still doesn't allow perfect mouse movement for FPS due to the way that the console games are coded.

u/DenEnsammaSvensken · 1 pointr/xbox

i dont know but i got mine when i bought my steelseries headphones. I think you can buy it separately. http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-PC-Headset-Adapter-PC35-Xbox360/dp/B0035AMM76 this will allow you to talk but wont give you the game sounds, i guess you have to check your local game store

u/paddym29 · 1 pointr/razer

You can buy a splitter that plugs into the microphone port on the 360 controller that has analog plugs and then lets you plug your analog headset into them. My friend does this. For example something like this http://www.amazon.com/Xbox-360-PC-Headset-Adapter-PC35-Xbox360/dp/B0035AMM76

u/SnappyCrunch · 1 pointr/techsupport

If you're planning on playing your games in a window on your PC, keep in mind that running the video through a capture card may introduce unacceptable amounts of input lag. Every capture card has to introduce some lag, but some cards are better than others. Lots of research and and generous return policy might be your friends. You also may want to consider an HDMI splitter, and playing games on a TV while still recording on a PC.

> I have found that some headsets have a spot to connect the xbox controller to the headsets volume controller.

I don't think I know what that statement means. It seems like you're pretty sure that this isn't what you want. Did you want to hear the Xbox sounds and voice chat sounds through the same headset? If so, then it looks like you can do so with this.

u/backlumchaam · 1 pointr/headphones

Sennheiser 5xx series have a really wide soundstage.

Try this thread for many more suggestions: http://www.head-fi.org/t/534479/mad-lust-envy-aka-shin-czs-guide-to-headphone-gaming-particularly-with-dolby-headphone

I admittedly don't know much about console gaming these days, but can't you use something like this?

Amongst 'audiophile gamers', the Astro mixamp has a pretty good reputation; not the best headphone amp, but for the mixing purposes it does exactly what you want it to do.

Ear Force DSS is a slightly cheaper alternative.

u/m1a2c2kali · 1 pointr/pics

but couldn't I also connect my keyboard and mouse to the xbox using this?

u/jooes · 1 pointr/AskReddit

This should be what you're looking for. And if not, it should at least point you in the right direction.

u/AndCockGoesTheGun · 1 pointr/hardwareswap

I can vouch for the $10.99 HDE adapter. You have to do a bit of work installing a driver (oh no, one minute of your time) but after that it works perfectly. Not sure why it's rated so low.

For FPS games I use a 360 controller with my PS3 (via one of these). I do have the triggers on the two Dualshocks I use for other games (Uncharted etc.).

Quiero un controller para PC que sea compatible con la mayor cantidad de juegos posibles, sea de buena calidad y wireless. Cuanto menos firuletes y lucesitas mejor. Por lo que vi la industria esta adoptando el de xbox como estandar.

Everyone here claiming that a mouse and keyboard would make console games unfair are wrong. What they need to do is add keyboard and mouse officially to even the playing field. Like most things, reality is different then perception. Why?

Because you can use a keyboard and mouse with any game on consoles. I do....

http://xim3.com/

http://www.amazon.com/XFPS-3-0-Sniper-Keyboard-Mouse-Adapter/dp/B0010ZH3V8

I have both. Sorry to tell you but, if someone wants to use a keyboard and mouse on a console, you can't stop them. That really awesome guy you played with who kicked your ass online? He was probably using an XFPS Sniper. It works great, It's just like using a mouse and keyboard on the PC but with some games you get auto aiming!

All of these arguments are just bickering and bullshit. People have and do use keyboards and mice on consoles. Happens all the time.

Of course I'm so far down in the comments that no one will probably see this, but everyone arguing against KBM are 100% wrong, MS and Sony just need to make it official, they can't stop it anyways......
