I absolutely do not need another project bag, but oh my god look at this one...

u/notamos · 6 pointsr/crochet

After I wind the yarn into cakes they fit right down onto the spindle which has a central spike on a dowel that rotates above a stationary base. It keeps everything feeding smoothly and nice and compact so it's easy to set aside and pick back up again.

u/ladymath · 6 pointsr/crochet

Instead of a yarn bowl, you could get her a yarn valet. I normally wind my yarn into cakes and then stick 'em on here when I'm crocheting. I love it! A couple of my coworkers bought some when I told them about mine.

Guys! I think I found the bag!!! Sorry OP, if I ruined the magic for you but so many people were asking.

u/Lunar3 · 4 pointsr/Assistance

I see you have a crochet key chain in there, do you need more key rings? I have a whole bag of them but I won't be able to use them as I only occasionally make keychains. I also have this knitting bag sitting in my closet that is completely brand new that I can send if you would like it and could use it.

I have this one (mine is purple though) a friend gave me. It holds a lot, but for travel with multiple projects or yarn for an afghan it’s perfect. For my small projects I use the $3 clear zipper pouches from Target. Just toss the yarn and the hook and scissors/stitch markers in them.

These things work great! Just as a PSA - if you've got Amazon, or even better - Amazon Prime - keep your eye out for these. They regularly go on sale for $9.99. Not right now, of course, cuz that'd be too easy (lol) - but they do have this similar one for $14.99 and two day shipping.

I've snagged a few and gifted them out - always much appreciated :D

You won’t regret it.

For crocheting, does she have anything like this?

Or a smaller size

I crochet and this would be super cool for traveling and organizing.

I got one of these GoKnit bags when they were on sale on Massdrop. It's nothing super special and kinda overpriced for what it is (I paid $20), but what I do like is that it has this snap on strap that you can attach to your jeans belt loop and literally walk around and knit if you so desire. The small fits two socks and their yarn in progress with room to spare. There's also an interior strap for yarn management, but I don't find it super useful if I'm not changing colors.

I used to use a small make-up case I got as a freebie with some cosmetics because it was kind of box-like, and it was coated on the outside with a plasticy material so I didn't have to worry about it getting wet or anything.

That said, I have totally rocked ziplock bags too and those work just fine.

I know I’m late to this question but, I found a great yarn bag that fixes this problem. It has dividers in it and grommets on top. You place the yarns you’re using in the divided space, pull the center strand from the end of the skein through the grommet and start knitting. I used it for my double strand Afghan and I didn’t have any trouble with the yarn twisting or tangling any further. I haven't bought one yet but I've seen some great "project" bags I have my eye on. Like this: https://hobbii.com/yarn-bag

Your start day is: February 25th

I would love this tote under my crochet list
Thank you for holding this contest and good luck at your new job!

So I got this knitting bag a few months ago and I like it a lot. It has space for several projects and zippered pockets for all my tools and notions and patterns. I like that it has a shoulder strap and handholds. It is a little big to tote around all the time (I still do take it with me frequently) but even at home I like having it beside my knitting spot since all my tools are in one spot.

I love all the suggestions already given so adding on

Does she have a good yarn bag? Smaller ones like this are good if she does small projects. If she does larger ones then something like this is great. I own both and I prefer the second one simply for the large space to store my projects in and that it has a LID.

If she has a sense of humor and shows off her hobby with pride there are a ton of funny crochet tshirts on Amazon. I have.. several.. on my wishlist and am hoping my inlaws will be getting me at least one for Christmas otherwise I'll be buying them myself!

u/greenmoss101 · 2 pointsr/knitting

I use a mix of a lot of the options mentioned by other posters but I also have a few KnowKnits bags I've been gifted and I love them. They sell onAmazon but I've seen them at yarn stores too.

I also carry a little altoids style tin with a fabric tape measure, slip and snip scissors, a cable needle, blunt needles, stitch markers, needle caps, and a knitting ring. I just move this from bag to bag.

Okay so on amazon it's like a little spindle thing the have, heres the link 》Yarn Valet 57102 Yarn Dispenser,... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B014G1CQP0?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share and what I did was take the white thing off and trace the circle on a piece of cardboard, cut that out, trace on 3 more, cut those out, super glue them together and tape around so the yarn doesnt snag, poke a hole that will slide over the white thing in the middle, so when you press it down a bit it becomes tight on there, but still removable, then roll up a piece on construction paper, tape that around and glue it on to the cardboard for the handle 😅 it may look cheap as hell but it saves SOOOO much time!

This is both nifty and integral to my human spirit, because I crochet a lot, and I have an entire room full of yarn that I would love to cram in to something actually made for holding yarn. Coffee cans work and all, but then all my finished projects smell like coffee, which not everyone enjoys.

Also anything to do with dragons, because they're my spirit animal. <3

A lie about me: I lost my front tooth in a wrestling match with a bear. That's right. I wrestled a bear once. (seriously, though, this is actually what I tell people when they ask about my missing tooth. Most have believed me...)

I bought a very similar one on Amazon.

I asked for a set of pom pom makers, a yarn winder, a nice-looking yarn tote, a set of blocking mats, and some awesome crochet books!

u/Jonsnowdontknowshit · 1 pointr/crochet

I recently bought myself one of these and I like it pretty well. It has removable inserts so I can organize my projects easily. It's very nice to have if you take your projects with you everywhere. Or if you're like me, helps protect projects and skeins being used from being bombarded with pet hair. Only complaint I have is that the stitching isn't reinforced, but it still holds together pretty well. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07MJFYT6K/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_GdKSDbR7XD7RX

I bought this one & I love it. I have the small one but I plan on buying the larger also. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07CZGRQFW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_lVwkDbE8NTAB6

Honestly anything would make me happy, but this would be awesome.

Btw happy birthday!

It looks exactly like the one you posted. I got it from Amazon. [Yarn Holder](http://www.Wood.com/ Yarn Holder With Twirling Mechanism https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00SNWDJGY/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_dr7bzbXF00ZJV).

I typically crochet sitting on the couch and I keep mine on a TV tray next to the couch. I actually think it's a nice size to take with me when I'm traveling. Fits perfectly in the cup holder in my car! It doesn't work perfectly for EVERYTHING, but it's far better than anything else I've found.

u/maeganmarie · 1 pointr/crochet

I’ve had one similar to this for years and it’s held up perfectly.

u/aanjheni · 1 pointr/RepLadies

Ah I see I bought it from Amazon . I am sure you could find it on AE or TB with the picture search.

She uses it all the time and the quality was superb.

u/Mwakio · 1 pointr/crochet

I received a yarn bag last christmas and I love it! it's very simple, similar to this one. Whenever I travel, I bring this along. It's great for flying or train rides.

u/KakBak · 1 pointr/crochet

Hey @gingeelise, @JaeBells1 and @fuckysprinkles, thanks for your help!

I actually ended up buying her a yarn bag, new ergonomical crochet hooks and a yarn cutter.

Unfortunately where we live, we don't have many options regarding a store that sells quality yarn or fabrics. So I thought this was quite a good options!

I also looked into your wiki and found some inspirations on the online stores when I looked into their assortment.

Again, thank you for your help! I really appreciate it :)

I think you'd probably like this yarn storage bag if you don't already have one!!
