Looks like you already got some answers on getting the account transferred, but not the ShB/SB question.

Shadowbringers includes Stormblood and Heavensward so you should not purchase Stormblood. PSN will not prevent you from buying Stormblood first, so simply get Shadowbringers.

Here is the description from Amazon for proof: https://www.amazon.com/FINAL-FANTASY-XIV-Shadowbringers-PlayStation-4/dp/B07N8TDWVH/ref=sr_1_1?gclid=Cj0KCQjwjrvpBRC0ARIsAFrFuV8MclK5gpqaCXlBBrEWGv1PO5ShXCM5GChEMDJNeG8oBz_DQcj859oaAjdAEALw_wcB&hvadid=352717211989&hvdev=c&hvlocphy=9006143&hvnetw=g&hvpos=1t1&hvqmt=e&hvrand=1789383876481270527&hvtargid=aud-647006051489%3Akwd-769899490209&hydadcr=26588_9479148&keywords=ps4%2Bshadowbringers&qid=1563397614&s=gateway&sr=8-1&th=1

4k on a 40-43" should be great.

I played for a 3 months on a Dell Ultra HD 4k Monitor P2715Q 27-Inch Screen LED-Lit Monitor (3840 x 2160) and loved it, except for the ^^^^^tiny Quest/Dialogue Text. Even with all UI elements set to 140%, some elements are just too small to be effective at that size screen (e.g. cooldown toolbar).

I've recently switched to a Dell UltraSharp U3415W 34-Inch Curved LED-Lit Monitor (3440 x 1440 Pixels), and although I miss the detail/scale, it makes for a better play experience.

u/ajpearman9 · 1 pointr/ffxiv

I play mostly MMOs and RPGs and I have [this ultrawide from Dell](Dell UltraSharp U3415W PXF79 34-Inch Curved LED-Lit Monitor https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00PXYRMPE/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_.dp6ybDRVZ2JE).

I got it for $600 after rebate a year and a half ago. It's absolutely perfect for games that have a lot of UI clutter, because I can move all the unimportant things to the sides and have a really wide, beautiful view of everything compared to 16:9 monitors.

The only concern is that it takes a high end GPU to push such a high resolution. I have a Nvidia 980ti and will definitely upgrade at some point because it can't push high framerates in some of the more ridiculous games. FFXIV runs beautifully though! :)

u/bigangry · 1 pointr/ffxiv

I picked up this sexy beast for $499 during the black friday sale, and it's served me incredibly well for pretty much everything I've played that allows widescreen at 3440x1440. If you've got a beefy graphics card, you can handle really good settings at 60fps in FFXIV.

u/goolddog · 1 pointr/ffxiv

I got this - it works OK but the keys pop out easy if you, for instance, drive to Mom's with it in your backpack.

I specifically looked for size, I wanted the smallest I could go, so it'd, y'know, fit into a backpack. There's probably cheaper or better ones out there, though.

u/zodiacsoldier · 1 pointr/ffxiv

I find it hard to play on just keyboard and mouse due to all the buttons you need.

I really like using one of those MMORPG mouses (pretty much mouses with a numpad on the side), takes some time to get use to, but are great once you adjusted to them.

There are alot of them, but here are the link for the more popular ones (I'm using the G600 atm)

Logitech G600

Corsair Schimitar

Razer Naga Chroma

Redragon M901 Perdition

I also use a Logitech G13 Gamepad

u/Tweekinator · 1 pointr/ffxiv

If cost isn't a issue I would get the Logitech k810. It is super nice and easy to use. The light up keyboard is nice since I play in a dark room all the time. Link for the lazy http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Bluetooth-Illuminated-Keyboard-Smartphones/dp/B0099SMFVQ. I see that it is $100 right now and I only paid $60 when I got it.

u/ecologista · 1 pointr/ffxiv

I gotcha!

There's 2 threads of interest for you if you would like to go the PS3 route, one is here and one here. It could be viable if you have a friend with a PS3!

ARR might go on sale soon though, so if you can hold off for a bit, it might be worth waiting. If not, there's a $20 digital download code for ps4 on amazon right now, which would also give you a month of subscription time. then you would have ~2.5 months to finish ARR before you could buy Stormblood, and gain access to Heavensward with it. The downside being you would have to work through HW before you could join us in the expansion, which would kind of suck.

u/Deathstroke606 · 1 pointr/ffxiv

I use the snakebyte official FFXIV 1.0 controller on PC - its a mock ps3 controller with longer handles for a more comfortable grip and buttons instead of triggers for L2/R2 which I prefer so I don't end up with cramped hooks for fingers. I tend to play monk & other melee based jobs like a button bashing street fighter noob lol
Edit: although I'm in the UK & got it through uk amazon, here is the link for the controller
http://www.amazon.com/Snakebyte-Final-Fantasy-XIV-Controller-000009/dp/B0046ZQ022/ref=sr_1_3?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1462461784&sr=1-3&keywords=snakebyte+controller

u/Andent · 1 pointr/ffxiv

For the majority of SCOB progression I used a Logiteck K810.

http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Bluetooth-Illuminated-Keyboard-Smartphones/dp/B0099SMFVQ/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1421535542&sr=1-1&keywords=K810

It's pricey at the moment but I managed to snag it during a 50% off sale. It's pretty small and fairly feature-limited. However, what it can do, it does nicely.

u/Necronam · 7 pointsr/ffxiv

I use the Logitech K810. I've had it for several years, and it works great. Battery lasts for weeks. My bf uses the Logitech K380 and has had similar success.

Edit: Added links.

The key difference is the 380 uses 2 AAA batteries, whereas the 810 has an internal, rechargeable battery that uses a standard micro USB.

u/Mojo_FFXIV · 3 pointsr/ffxiv

Similarly for those in the UK, amazon.co.uk is still selling PS3 FFXIV SE for £2.20. http://www.amazon.co.uk/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Realm-Reborn/dp/B004CVJWU2/ref=pd_sim_sbs_vg_h__1?ie=UTF8&refRID=1NWR8JF39F8KTP6XW3NY

I personally have bought a copy, run the free upgrade, added the second copy and now have 60 days of PS3/PS4 access on my second account. If you already have the PC version, that gives you a full system unlock for ARR.

Be aware though that you will have to buy Heavensward for each platform you wish to play on if you want to access those areas come 23rd June.

u/kennyamr · 1 pointr/ffxiv

What he said.
Also, if you are looking for keyboards for your PS4, there are some bluetooth ones but they may cause some interference while typing depending on the brand and cost. I had a Logitech one but got tired of those so I got this wired one, pretty cheap too.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B005EOWBHC/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&th=1
You don't need a mouse because the trackpad on the controller works as one, however, if you are planning to be a main healer, I would recommend to get the mouse, also sold as a bundle with the keyboard i linked. Sometimes it's easier to click on people on the screen using a mouse to fast heal them. But other than that, just get a keyboard.

u/Stuke00 · 1 pointr/ffxiv

It won't work. The game is super cheap right now. If you have a PS3, you can find the PS3 version for about 14 bucks and then do a free upgrade to the PS4. And you will get 30 days of gametime included.

u/DreyfussFrost · 0 pointsr/ffxiv

I looked into this recently and every article I found said speed gains from an SSD were minor and not worth the storage difference versus an SSHD and I can see why. You only need to cache the game you're currently playing and you don't want to have to keep reinstalling games because you've run out of space. This is your best bet for a new internal drive.

u/tadtz · 1 pointr/ffxiv

I use this and it works wonderfully with a PS3 controller, either wireless or wired. I've been able to set up pretty much everything just how I had it on the PS3. No janky drivers from sketchy sources needed.

https://www.amazon.com/Mayflash-Wireless-PS3-Controller-Adapter/dp/B00DSFW5MA

u/AdamskaPrice · 1 pointr/ffxiv

The Logitech F710 is pretty good if you want something different. I recommend it if you have big hands since PS3 controllers are notorious for giving hand cramps. The button layout is almost identical to the PS3, but with a Microsoft look and a little bit more weight.

u/MacrossX · 3 pointsr/ffxiv

It works well on PS4, however zone loading times can be a bit slow on the stock hard drive. IF you find the loading times too long, upgrading the PS4's hard drive to a hybrid or SSD drive will make a huge difference.

I can highly recommend pickup up a Seagate Firecuda hybrid drive:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M1NHCZT

You'll see zone loading times reduced by more than half:

Have you tried Amazon UK? They have the bundle in stock and at least claim to deliver to Australia in general, but I'm not sure what restrictions they have, or how favorable the exchange rate is.

If you've already made a trial account, your SE account is probably locked on to the EU region, so if you wanted to get an US copy of the game you'd have to make a new account.

u/neutronstarneko · 2 pointsr/ffxiv

oh dear :(

maybe amazon.co.uk and select 'it will be a gift' at checkout? might be able to ship it to him direct but i guess you'd have to create an amazon.co.uk account

u/ZomboniPilot · 3 pointsr/ffxiv

You would be much better off with an SSHD. It will give you close to SSD for a fraction of the cost:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkFRqhZajo0

edit: here is the one in the video, it is 2TB of storage for 85$ or 1TB for 63$

I tried this solution with a PS4 controller chatpad, but the damn thing goes idle after like 5 minutes and it has about a 5 second wake-up time. I eventually couldn't take it anymore and found a different solution.

DS4 controller users, avoid this chatpad if you're going to try said solution:
http://www.amazon.com/Collective-Minds-Chatboost-Battery-playstation-4/dp/B00QU93WW8

u/r4nd0mf4ct0r · 1 pointr/ffxiv

I'm using a Logitech F710 wireless controller, which is similar in design to Sony-style controllers so it wouldn't be much different from your dying DS4. It's the controller the XIV devs used when showing off gamepad controls in this video

The triggers are a bit stiffer than I prefer which can lead to trigger finger fatigue if you don't train yourself to lay off them a little, but it's only a minor gripe.

Being a wireless controller (not bluetooth, uses a low-profile USB receiver) it runs off of two AA batteries which usually last me three or four months, maybe more. Power's not an issue if you keep a fresh pair of batteries nearby.

u/[deleted] · 0 pointsr/ffxiv

Somewhat agree, for what it's worth, if you're in the UK, Amazon sell the PS3 copies for dirt cheap; http://www.amazon.co.uk/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Realm-Reborn/dp/B004CVJWU2

So if you have a PS3 or know someone, you could grab that, activate the PS3 Version and then upgrade to a PS4 license using the upgrade campaign

u/sargonkid · 1 pointr/ffxiv

If you want a "hardware" solution that requires no driver or software (Win 7 and up/true plug and play) - try this

http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-PS3-Controller-Adapter-Personal-Computer/dp/B00DSFW5MA/ref=sr_1_sc_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1405456703&sr=8-1-spell&keywords=ps3+tp+pc+contoller

I have used this on both our PCs since the begining of the game. Not a one hiccup so far. : )

u/coffeeIV · 2 pointsr/ffxiv

If you want something that will be up and running in 2-3 minutes without having to constantly hassle with buggy drivers and/or multiple different downloads etc., try this:
http://www.amazon.com/Wireless-PS3-Controller-USB-Adapter-Pc/dp/B00DSFW5MA/ref=cm_cr-mr-title

There is also a version that works with the Wii U Pro controller. I've been using the PS3 one daily since launch and have not had any issues with it.

u/kaslinn · 2 pointsr/ffxiv

You can buy a PS4 copy from Amazon or places like it (Best Buy, Game Stop, etc.). Just don't buy it used, obviously.

You cannot buy a PC code, which is what Humble Bundle is offering, nor a Steam code. Those are totally separate licenses.

u/JoeRuinsEverything · 1 pointr/ffxiv

Should be this one. It kind of looks like a cheap, off brand controller to me.

u/mkaito · 3 pointsr/ffxiv

I finally got some batteries for my Logitech F710, so I can try out how the controls feel on a game pad.

I plan on trying some harvesting and crafting too!

u/OneHouseDown · 1 pointr/ffxiv

Not OP, but Amazon has it for $50.00

u/nuttygamer · 1 pointr/ffxiv

Here's the one I've been using since v1

u/Opheliana · 1 pointr/ffxiv

Any keyboard would work as long as it's plug and play. Amazon has an inexpensive one that some of my PS4 friends use: http://www.amazon.com/AmazonBasics-KU-0833-Wired-Keyboard/dp/B005EOWBHC

However I've used both wired and bluetooth keyboards on my PS4, and they both suffered from input lag when typing. I'm not really sure if it's a FFXIV or PS4 limitation, but there are posts on the SE forums about it.

u/Jakoben · 1 pointr/ffxiv

So I just need to order this http://www.amazon.co.uk/Final-Fantasy-XIV-Standard-Edition/dp/B00DB4BU9W then cancel the pre-order after I get the EA key? I suppose it's a physical copy but that doesn't matter since they will mail me the key.

u/Ashorian84 · 2 pointsr/ffxiv

i have the keyboard to controller attachment with the mini-keyboard and it's not too bad, also functions as a controller battery extender. it is very literally a step up from using your on-screen interface and a step below using a usb keyboard/bluetooth keyboard. it is pretty cheap and light and fits into the controller in such as way that it doesn't make the controller uncomfortable at all. I have had no problems with it and in fact just leave it plugged in to the controller 100% of the time.

> Keyboard: C'mon man. Don't be that guy. Plug any old USB keyboard into your PS4 and communicate. What's the point of the "Multiplayer" in MMO if you're not playing with others?

Keyboard is a MUST. If you can't afford, you really can't afford playing MMOs.

Amazon Keyboard $12

u/Lorelei_Valfreyja · 1 pointr/ffxiv

No, the page has the PC Digital version for sale. The PS4 version is $11.99

u/kkitani · 1 pointr/ffxiv

As a fellow left-hander, I feel your pain. Hard not to drool over the gaming mice and realize you can't use one.

There is the Razer Naga left-handed version, which is one of the few left-handed gaming mice out there.

https://www.amazon.com/Razer-Naga-Handed-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B00EO2ECUY

Ironically, I tried it but couldn't get used to it so went back to a non-ergonomic non-gaming mouse.

u/Jhennauchan · 1 pointr/ffxiv

I've used this for literal years. It's started acting up now in year uh.... 5? But it still trucks along when I need it to and it's so much a part of my playtime that the PS4 controller feels weird without it when I play other games

u/ssalp · 3 pointsr/ffxiv

This one but it is known to be hit and miss as far as quality goes. I had the right handed one for 1 and a half years before the left mouse button broke. I heard from others that they've had them for years.
