I think 340 GBP is a great price for XT.
If you manage to solve your card issues, which I hope you do, you might want to consider getting https://www.amazon.co.uk/ARCTIC-Accelero-Xtreme-IV-Compatible/dp/B00HHMJIIO for 45 quid.

Fantastic cooler for your reference XT

I recommend the 5700 navi gpu. It should get you some decent performance and you will get even more once you decide to upgrade your cpu and mobo. Flat out price to performance an AIB radeon 5700 is 300 bucks and would be perfect. or you could get the 5700 xt because im seeing that alot of the 5700 cards are like 460 and for like 50 more bucks you can get the xt version that will get you some more performance. unless you want to go with the blower style cards.https://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-Radeon-Triple-Backplate-Graphics/dp/B07WC7683C/ref=sr_1_24?keywords=5700&qid=1566002113&s=gateway&sr=8-24

at that price range, you'd probably be looking at either a 260X or a 750Ti.

Personally, I'm an AMD guy, but both of those cards are great products for that segment

edit: but if you can bump up another £10, the R7-265 is a good one also

I think so. Are they DP++? That means that at the electronics level they actually are capable of producing the signals in the DVI format. If so you can just use a passive adapter like this one, and it will work perfectly with no drawbacks or added latency whatsoever.

Okay so i've ordered this.

But what you're saying is , the 600w will be sufficient enough , but a PSU upgrade is always welcome ?

Here is the PSU I bought:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00PGUSEBG/ref=twister_B016KV6WRW?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1

The GPU:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/ASUS-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5-NVIDIA-GeForce-Graphics/dp/B00NFFAW50/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1474035747&sr=1-1&keywords=asus+strix+970

The length is something that concerned me yes, I have measured inside the case and I should have 2 cm to spare. It just about reaches the HDD bay, but it should be able to fit.

What do you mean by refresh rates? We don't really know the refresh rate of his TV. It could be a 60hz TV for all we know. For example,LG tv from like 2013 with 60hz refresh rate.

Other than that, I agree, I wouldn't buy right now.

It seems that others online are having different troubles w/ Windows 10 on that machine. I would recommend leaving them on windows 7 or 8.1. If there is some reason you need to switch to windows 10, I would double check the issue with the graphics card as it seems others with the Inspiron 620 did not have that same issue.

Googling the model number, there are some shots of the Mobo that show that it has a PCIe graphics slot. PCIe will negotiate to lower speeds, so you should be ok getting a newer 2.0 or 3.0 card even if it is only a 1.0 interface.

This card claims compatibility with windows 10 and seems to fit the bill for you. Buy it somewhere you can return it just in case graphics doesn't turn out to be the problem.
