Android takes a little getting used to but you'll see that you can do sooo much more out of the box.
Get familiar with the 2nd screen as it's a big help. It takes a bit of time to get used to it... I sometime forget it's there and still unlock to skip songs and whatnot. You can set different apps for shortcut, a set of setting, music controls, etc. If you're sticking with LG's home screen then go settings>home screen>select home screen and choose Home & app drawer to have the way Android was meant to be used XD. The factory style gives more of an iOS feel with all apps on the home screen which to me is a lot of clutter. I have Nova paid (aka prime) and haven't switched to it yet...
Headphones... get a good pair to take advantage of the HiFi DAC. Good pair doesn't mean high impedance or pricey. I use Meze 12 Classics and they sound so freaking good with this phone! They're also sexy af imo lol They'll set you back $59 which to me is a good price point for everyday use IMEs. Another that is being recommended a lot are the 1More Triple Driver IMEs. These set you back $89. The HiFi DAC only works with wired headphones...in case you didn't know.
Another thing to consider is either getting LG's battery pack and cradle combo or a battery pack. I have Anker's 10000mah QC 3 battery pack and it gives me around 3 charges on my V20. Prefer this to be taking off the case, cover, swapping batteries and putting everything back together -___-
That brings us to cases... get one ASAP if you haven't already. There's a lot of choices out there. I have the Spigen Tough Armor with kickstand and it's been great. Sleek and the kickstand is pretty functional with my only gripe with it being plastic....Spigen, Rinke and Urban Armour are three of the most recommended cases. Check reviews and pick the one that best suites your needs. Haven't gotten a screen protector as of yet... there hasn't been one that covers the whole screen or wraps around the edges with the V20 having a slight curved screen.

Another thing I always do is settings>fingerprint and security>unknown sources to On. This will let you install apps out of the play store.

Also, Reddit is a great community to get good and quick answers.

FYI - Links provided above for the things I recommended on Amazon.

Awesome, you'll love it. Once you get it hunt down the Google camera at XDA (I need to go download new version as they've now combined both). Although, the stock camera app is still incredible.

If you're not using Nova Launcher, it's a must also... I've been using that for years now and couldn't fathom using anything else. Having the ability to have more rows and columns and more control over primary desktop screen totally worth it.

Good luck and have fun!

P.S. I love this case: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M9FI54B/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

This was best screen cover I found after trying two others: https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B01NAKZN2D/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Not that you need another option, but I have the following:

Case -> https://www.amazon.com/Speck-Products-Presidio-Clear-Phone/dp/B01LRHYBL8/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1493743318&sr=8-3&keywords=speck+LG+V20+case

Screen protector -> https://www.amazon.com/Tempered-Protector-Supershieldz-Anti-Scratch-Anti-Fingerprint/dp/B01NAKZN2D/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1493743373&sr=8-4&keywords=lg+v20+tempered+glass+screen+protector

The case is slightly thicker than the camera glass, so it's protected, but it doesn't add too much bulk. The corners have soft edges to protect them from drops.

The screen protector is nice, covers the entire glass, too. It was super easy to apply--got it on the first try. No rainbow or halo effect. It does seem to attract more fingerprints than the display itself, but I can live with it. I had a film type protector installed by the Sprint store, but it didn't cover all of the glass and didn't give me warm-fuzzies like a tempered glass protector does.

There are a couple reviews for it on Amazon but they're favorable.

To be honest, I have no interest in the projector itself. My G4 is starting to have some major issues and I went looking for a phone. Liked the V20, saw it was down to $360, and bought it. Noticed the projector promo and plan to resell it, thus making what I assumed was going to cost me a pretty penny into the V20 for probably under $100 after all is said and done.

I got these
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01GQ0K958/ref=psdc_464394_t1_B01B634WNK, a little cheaper (3 less cables) but work very well, fast charging is great and the cable length and braiding is amazing.

u/oddiseeus · 1 pointr/lgv20

I have the Supershieldz tempered glass shield. I think it works great. Ive had it since I got the phone in February and am very satisfied. I dropped,my phone once an the protector chipped saving the screen. The chip hasn't gotten larger so I haveny replaced it yet (I'm sure I'm gambling). My only complaint - and its a tiny conplaint - is the small rainbow glare (I heard its typical for glass screen protectors) thats noticeable when the phone is turned off. I watched a YouTube video on installing the screen protector using the tape method and it worked perfectly to prevent bubbling. I highly recommend that installation method.

u/Freeeeezybaby · 2 pointsr/lgv20

I just bought these from amazon..https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01MU8EWKI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Its small enough to cover the top screen but not hit the curve. The first one in the pack i placed a little too high and got a bubble. Was almost ready throw away the second but decided to give it a go with better placement. Got it on perfectly with no bubbles what so ever anywhere after working them in with my fingers. goodluck!

(Update) bubble has started to appear on edge above the second screen icons. Not too bad but def there

I just picked up some of these:

https://www.amazon.com/1MORE-Headphones-Earphones-Compatible-Microphone/dp/B01KB9K9Z0/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485967039&sr=8-1&keywords=1more&th=1

They sound at least as good as my B&W C5s. They are not super bass heavy, but have some good thump and really clear highs.

They have them on Costco's site for $20 less than amazon as well.

ROM: (NOTE: I just checked and it was discontinued two weeks ago! Still usable of course.)

  • AlphaROM on xda. Comes with audio tools such as viper4android which let you toggle all sorts of improvements & effects for your headphones. LineageOS is also a decent universal option.

    Cable:

  • Anker Powerline+ Cable - Super durable usb cord with support for high transfer speed & charging speed (Quickcharge 3.0)

    Case:

  • Spigen Tough Armor or Rugged Armor Case - Simple solid cases with good protection and usability. (Not as beefy as an otterbox though)

Is it a message about the phone charging slowly?

I've gotten that from time to time. I'm using a high quality USB C cable that's on that approved list from google, and a Anker Quick Charge 3.0 5 port charger.

Whenever it dose happen I just make sure the end of the cord is clean and the connector on the phone and make sure to plug it in completely. That's always fixed it for me when it dose happen.

u/G-wow · 14 pointsr/lgv20

It's actually very easy to replace, the phone comes apart very easily for complete access from the inside to push out any glass. Clean the area very thoroughly so the adhesive can stick well.

u/PostalFury · 3 pointsr/lgv20

Personally, if you're wanting to get some solid cans, you can't go wrong with the HD 598s from Sennheiser or the DT 990 Pro from Beyerdynamic. Both sound fantastic on the V20, and have solid build quality.

r/headphones is a step in the right direction if you'd like to know more!

I bought this Anker been great ordered a 2nd one. https://www.amazon.com/Anker-PowerLine-Durability-Including-ChromeBook/dp/B01M5GMZ6X/ref=pd_sim_107_4?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=SXN7SKBY1WRMBZJ065QX

I believe the code still works 3Ft AKUSBC3F $8.99
6Ft AKUSBC6F $9.99

Just look up Anker in Slickdeals and the thread towards the top 6' Anker PowerLine+ Micro USB Cable. Code say good til the 4th sometime haven't check though.

Here it is https://slickdeals.net/f/9608648-6-anker-powerline-micro-usb-cable-red-7-70-much-more?src=SiteSearch

Mine is titan and my case is below.

https://www.amazon.com/DGtle-Anti-Scratches-Premium-Flexible-Protective/dp/B01L8LSWLI

The case fits really well, gives the camera bump enough protection and feels good grip wise.

u/MrLethalWeapon · 1 pointr/lgv20

I've purchased extended batteries from Powerbear and iPossible and they've both worked well.
The extended size on these isn't obnoxious, and the longer run-time is a huge help.

I use YouTube all the time so when it eventually does run out I can put one on the charger while the other is powering the phone.

u/Phoenix591 · 3 pointsr/lgv20

I recently bought a replacement lens and fixed mine, it wasn't hard at all. This is the one I ended up getting matched my titan us996 perfectly, and the included tweezers worked well.

u/rusrslythatdumb · 3 pointsr/lgv20

$45 is a lot for a clear slim case. Any idea what makes it better than Ringke's $10 version?

u/MyNamesMikeD75 · 2 pointsr/lgv20

[2 Pack] LG V20 Screen Protector,BIUZKO 9H Hardness Anti-Scratch Anti-Fingerprint Premium HD Clear Ballistic Glass Case Friendly with Lifetime Replace https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MU8EWKI/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apap_d2nzvhYIKPFol

u/Used_Taco · 3 pointsr/lgv20

This Caseology Parallax is my favorite, followed by this DGtle, this Ringke, and finally this Ringke, though it's a little bulky for my taste.

u/alligatorbilly · 3 pointsr/lgv20

After you find some earbuds, look at getting some cans. These are amazing on my V20. DT990 by Beyerdynamic. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0011UB9CQ/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_yuFWBb8Y22TER

u/Sjhester · 2 pointsr/lgv20

I have this onehttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01L8LSWLI/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Bought a few more expensive ones, 2 Spigen ones. This while not as cheap as you may be looking for, had good protection and the back was grippy, which is important to me.

u/JeromeZilcher · 1 pointr/lgv20

I see you picked one from Anker.

If you don't mind the price hike, I can also recommend this one from Anker with Power Delivery (rather than Qualcomm QC 3.0):

Anything by UAG is great in terms of non-slip performance.

[Currently out of stock on Amazon, but here's at least what it looks like ](http://www.UAG.com/ LG V20 Plasma Feather-Light Rugged [ICE] Military Drop Tested Phone Case https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01L7TVA0Q/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_3N1kybJ9468VX)

u/wordstrappedinmyhead · 1 pointr/lgv20

OEM LG wall charger that comes with the phone works fine for me.

As far as car chargers, I've been using this Scosche USBC202M Dual 10 Watt (2.1A) USB Car Charger with a regular USB-A to micro-USB cable. Looks like it won't do Quick Charge though.

If the Scosche car charger wont do Quick Charge, then maybe this? Aukey CC-T8 Car Charger

u/fried_clams · 1 pointr/lgv20

I use these, with very good results

PowerBear USB Charger [18W]... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KJ293VA?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

USB Type C Cable, ZOOAUX [2 Pack 6.6FT] USB C Cable USB-C to USB-A Fast Charger Nylon Braided Cord Compatible Samsung Galaxy S10+ /S10 /S9 /S8 Plus Note 9 8,LG G6 V30,Pixel 2,Nintendo Switch etc.(Red) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JYX4KZ3/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_hN7YCbYFKWYQT

u/hxcadam · 2 pointsr/lgv20

I just bought these aukey cables and am impressed by the quality so far.

u/Blackmagician · 8 pointsr/lgv20

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01JIYWUBA
Has saved me so many times, can't really think about going without it now. Keep it in my bag or jacket pocket.

u/naturecannon · 1 pointr/lgv20

These cables are fantastic. They are on the stiffer and thicker side but you could slam it in a car door and I doubt it would break. Excellent quality!!

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01C2NNG12/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use one in my truck and the other two with my Anker Quick Charge 3.0 63W 5-Port USB Wall Charge https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01IUTIUEA/ref=ya_aw_od_pi?ie=UTF8&psc=1

u/Anarchaotic · 4 pointsr/lgv20

I've bought two cases but keep going back to this one:

https://www.amazon.ca/Ringke-Protection-Absorption-Technology-Protective/dp/B01K5I9CJQ/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&qid=1494356891&sr=8-4&keywords=V20+Fusion

It's very low profile, protects the back of the phone and the camera lense since the case is slightly elevated, and doesn't add too much heft or width to the phone.

The other case I have is a Spigen one that's much more solid, but it adds a lot of weight and makes the phone too big in my opinion so I keep going back to the fusion

u/[deleted] · 1 pointr/lgv20

I've been using these :
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MU8EWKI/ref=cm_sw_r_em_apa_Dt5.ybPYAC0XB

I've used both and they seem stronger than the spigen type. Plus they cost less.

u/speed_rabbit · 1 pointr/lgv20

Stormtrooper, yoda, bounty hunter and Vader skins (not case) for the V20:

https://www.slickwraps.com/galactic-series-skins-for-lg-v20.html

Otherwise, this actual case is clear and comes with a template so you can print and cut out your own images to put on the back and customize your case. Works well.

I got [this] (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y3JGZM6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_XCrUBbBKGPYZ6). Just heat with a hair dryer and use pliers to fish out cracked glass. Be careful not to scratch cameras. Not a big deal. Did it today in about 10 mins. It is glass and will splinter!

u/KingsBlade · 2 pointsr/lgv20

I use this one and it works fine: LG V20 Battery Charger , Sfmn USB Wall Travel Spare Battery Charger for LG V20 Battery (LG V20 Wall Charger) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B071WNQ7VV/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_uyKWAbZ4AP6ZB

Check out Benson Leung's reviews of USB-C cables on Amazon. He's a Software Engineer for Google and he reviews cables to confirm that they are designed to the actual USB-C Spec. https://www.amazon.com/gp/profile/amzn1.account.AFLICGQRF6BRJGH2RRD4VGMB47ZA

Any actual USB-C spec compliant cable will do.

I use this one specifically: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01M6361FG
I got the 2 pack, 1 gold 1 black, got the gold one in my car and use the black one at home.

And then in my car I use this car charger: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01B2BMIMS

At home I'm just using the stock charger that came with the device, but I plan to buy a QC 3.0 charger in the near future.

u/AnotherStupidName · 0 pointsr/lgv20

How about this?
