Oh sure, so to be clear I think the whole "permanent physical transformation" part of terrigenesis is a little underexplored. If you want to check them out anyway my two recommendations would be:
Hey good luck! Comics aren't cheap but I hope you check one of these out!
There are a number of comics that are canon to the MCU. There are no tiers to the MCU canon. Contradictions and continuity have nothing to do with canon. With the MCU, something is considered canon if it is an official story in the overall MCU.
The writer of many of the MCU comics, Will Corona Pilgrim, stated: "I don’t write in a vacuum. A lot of the executives – as well as the producers and the co-producers, and of course Kevin Feige and Lou Esposito – have their thoughts on what would be good stories. So as we were having these great meetings we were coming up with different ideas. I was there jotting down little things that I thought would make for great comics that we could do later."
About the comics, WCP says that they lead "into a greater shared cinematic universe that we work so hard to keep coherent with all these spin-offs, tie-ins, TV shows, one-shots, and comics. We definitely want our stories to feel part of that universe..."
He's pretty clear on Twitter that these comics are absolutely canon to the MCU.
The Guidebook to the Marvel Cinematic Universe — Iron Man also has the following about the comics: "The Guidebook will only include information revealed in the final version of each film — nothing from deleted scenes, early drafts or behind-the-scenes features", although "facts, figures and images from the gorgeous Art of books" are included as well as "the all-new stories from the canonical official Marvel Cinematic Universe tie-in comic books."
There are also some comics that are considered "inspired by" the MCU. As WCP says: "The canon ones have that Marvel stamp and the trade dress has a cinematic wide screen feel. Whereas the inspired tie-ins are much more about having another fun adventure with the Avengers. They’re not considered canonical though. Those are just fun adventures with the team because we want to tell more Avengers stories."

Marvel Now Run:
One
Two
Three
Moench:
One (This one can be a bit rough to get through. I recommend doing the 1980 run digitally if it’s available in good quality. The run is good but only the pit of print second one is the real run)
Two (This is the one that’s out of print so digital will be much better priced)
Three (This has the absolute BEST issues and the worst. All of Moench’s issues are classics here, but he leaves like 10 issues in and Zelenetz takes over and he’s no good.)
It’ll probably be best to go digital and just read issues 1-33
Hutson:
This run is currently out of print as well but it should show up as “Moon Knight (2006)” on digital sources
Lemire:
Hardcover
There's so much going on in the comics that the best way to learn is to get immersed in a good story. That said, I very highly recommend the following:
Thor: God of Thunder #1 - #11 by Jason Aaron and Esad Ribic (#1 - #5 are on Kindle unlimited here)
Thanos Vol. 2 #13 - #18 by Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw
Cosmic Ghost Rider #1 - #5 by Donny Cates and Dylan Burnett
Secret Wars by Jonathan Hickman and Esad Ribic
Venom Vol. 4 #1 - #6 (on Kindle Unlimited)
Infinity Gauntlet by Jim Starlin and George Perez
The Vision #1 - #12 by Tom King and Gabriel Walta
Some of those directly influenced the movies, some are just amazing stories in their own right.
I've heard Hickman's Fantastic Four and Avengers runs are very good as well, but I haven't read them myself.
Some ongoing books worth checking out are:
House of X / Powers of X
Immortal Hulk
Venom
Absolute Carnage

I'm from the UK so I couldn't tell you if they had this in the US but I agree with the others you should get a blu ray player :)
Ooohh, that's the Avengers' Infinity Arc , a tie in to Hickmans' Avengers. nothing to do with the stones/gauntlet, just one of 3 huge arcing Avengers story taking place through it. Some of the best comic reading I've ever done

Unless this is a UK exclusive. This is the version I have. Would love to have the suitcase..... One day

I've read this one and it's pretty thorough, doesn't give as much backstory to the studios exactly, but it does tell you the original appearances of each hero/villain from the comics and describes every movie in detail up until Spiderman: Homecoming.
Yeah, I think that most fans really didn't care for the Inhumans one way or the other. Honestly, I really don't care for them but I will give the show a chance once it comes to ABC. But still, what I know from them in the comics mostly comes from this run:https://www.amazon.com/Inhumans-Paul-Jenkins-Jae-Lee/dp/0785197494/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1504748053&sr=8-1&keywords=Inhumans
Marvel put out a reprint of the Miller/Janson run as an omnibus not too long ago. I also think all that stuff is available on Marvel Unlimited ($10/mo).
Marvel Studios Visual Dictionary is indeed a book you can buy on Amazon
Marvel Unlimited

I like the fact that as opposed to it being a shot of them flying through midtown Manhattan (like every other Spidey film), they're just in a residential area in Queens.

It's awesome. It features the first appearance of Kingpin in the Daredevil comics (he was a spiderman villain first iirc)
A link to the book on Amazon for those interested.
There is a little bit of the Dorae in the Black Panther prelude (and maybe the IW? I don't remember.) You can order individual preludes though. This is the one for Black Panther, which is an original story: https://amazon.com/Marvels-Panther-Prelude-Corona-Pilgrim/dp/1302909428/
Note that the paperback I linked collects seven comics, but only two are MCU. You could buy the digital versions of the two comics for a total of four dollars instead. Or maybe even your library has it, if your library has comics.

Realitively Cheap Collections:
Marvel's Avengers: Endgame - The Art of the Movie
Still fairly cheap on Amazon but since they only print a finite amount of them for each film, the price usually goes up.
This book is about 200 pages and is a collection of single issues that cover Iron Man through Thor 2. There is a second volume coming later this year that covers the rest up to Guardians Vol. 2. They've also done a few seasons of SHIELD and Carter so I'm sure another collection will come out at some point with TV stuff.

You probably first saw these in other countries. American movies often get title changes for non-American markets, as some phrases don't translate properly.

The Return of the First Avenger - https://amazon.com/dp/B00J5CA0AE
but ...
I'm about to buy Spider-Man: Homecoming - The Art of the Movie
Still not really sure because it's expensive imo, but I bought the one for Pacific Rim a couple of years ago and it was so worth it!
The Dark World scoring lowest so often is proof that this sub is an echo chamber (sometimes.)
We've been telling each other that it's the worst for so long that a lot of fans legit believe it's true...even though it's worst flaw is probably that it's just bland or generic. And that's not that bad compared to film's that are actually obnoxious or boring (which, yes, the MCU does have those.)
I'll try to prove this as simply and scientifically as possible. With sales data:
So for the sake of simplicity let's say that's about half. Thor 2 sold about half as many tickets as Iron Man 3.
Now let's look at DVD/Blu-ray sales
This is incredible. What this means is that, despite having about half the exposure of Iron Man 3, Thor 2 outsold it on DVD/Blu-ray sales.
That means, given a few months to talk about and think about the film, a lot more people felt like watching Thor 2 again versus Iron Man 3. In fact, Iron Man 3 had to sell about twice as many tickets as Thor 2 for every copy bought on DVD and Blu-ray. And these were both 2013 films so they were dealing with the same markets.
But if that's not enough, check out Amazon.
These are verified customer reviews. It's not like IMDb or RottenTomatoes where people can just spam and troll the ratings. Iron Man 3 scores a 4.3/5...The Dark World scores a 4.4/5
Not a big difference but The Dark World wins again!
Strangely it is up for purchase now as a download on Amazon.com ... http://www.amazon.com/Into-the-Ring/dp/B01D1YR0N6/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1458689646&sr=8-3&keywords=Daredevil+Season+1
I already posted about this and planned it out:

I'm going to get caught up on Iron Man 1 (Wednesday) and The Incredible Hulk (Thursday), then post a conversation thread for Iron Man 2 on Friday. From there it'll continue every week right up until Ragnarok, and so on.

They are not together at the time and Thor doesn't actually know who has taken over his role for a while. (Thor at the time is unworthy, for convoluted reasons, but fundamentally someone tried to kill all Gods in the universe with a 'GodBomb' because he felt Gods had failed in their responsibility/role and while Thor beat him he...took the villain's argument to heart. This is all in Jason Aaron's Thor run)
It starts here: https://www.amazon.ca/Thor-Jason-Aaron-Complete-Collection/dp/1302918109/ref=pd_sbs_14_2/142-2711625-1304559?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=1302918109&pd_rd_r=35573a9a-5546-46ff-a7f9-a9514e2a3cc3&pd_rd_w=vEXQD&pd_rd_wg=883iI&pf_rd_p=f7748194-d8e0-4460-84c0-2789668108bc&pf_rd_r=SYTWTQ040QZZT9DWS84G&psc=1&refRID=SYTWTQ040QZZT9DWS84G
Yes! That was the same problem for Winter Soldier and Thor the Dark World.
In Germany, Captain America The Winter Soldier was titled "The Return of the First Avenger" and Thor 2 was titled "Thor: The Dark Kingdom" and Civil War didn't have Captain America in the title. It was just titled "The First Avenger - Civil War"
Seriously. If you don't believe me check out the German Blu-rays:
