Preheat the oven to 180C/350F. To prepare the baking tin, spray non-stick baking spray into the pan so the sweetrolls will come out easily. Do not overspray.

In a large bowl cream the butter, sugar, vanilla extract and maple syrup together until pale and creamy. Add the eggs one and a time and mix well.

Sift in the self-raising flour and cinnamon then add the milk and stir gently until a smooth batter forms.

Fill the prepared muffin tray with the batter, filling each well nearly to the top and place in the pre-heated oven for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown (a skewer inserted should come out clean when cooked thoroughly). Set aside and allow to cool completely while you prepare the frosting.

For the Sweet Rolls:
180g / 1 Cup Butter (Room Temperature)
175g / ¾ Cup White Caster Sugar
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
2 Tablespoons Maple Syrup
2 Eggs (Room Temperature)
250g / 2 Cups Self-Raising Flour [MEASURE 250g ON A SCALE]
2 Teaspoons Ground Cinnamon
125ml / ½ Cup Milk

For the Frosting:
200g / 1 Cup Cream Cheese
55g / ¼ Cup Butter
1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
125g / 1 Cup Icing/Confectioners Sugar

Remove the rolls from the tin and let cool completely, about 1 hour.

•Carefully slice the puffy top off . Turn the cake upside down so that the cut top is now the bottom.

Cut a small hole in the top of the cake that’s about 1cm deep and 1cm across.

Dip roll into glaze once, remove, wait 10 minutes, then dip a second time. Let sit for a minute.

•Enjoy your sweetrolls!

Link for pan (you must use this one, no other pans work for this recipe):

Wilton Giant Cupcake Pan, 6-Cup...

Every recipe was taken from the Official Elder Scrolls cook book:

  • Imperial Mulled Wine - sweetened white wine with herbal spices. We used fresh picked herbs and it was incredibly flavorful.
  • Meadow Rye Bread - super fast and easy soda bread, and amazingly tasty. Chopped for dipping into our:
  • Elsweyr Fondue - Gruyere, nutmeg, white wine. Amazing
  • And of course the main attraction: Thin Mints...

Ok, but actually the Sweet Rolls really lived up the the hype. Yeasty, bready pastry with a nice cream cheese icing. Also, fittingly my dog Opalstole 3 sweet rolls off the cooling rack while I ran to the liquor store...

I assume this is on PC? Do you use Steam? I honestly don't know where to get it any cheaper until a Steam sale comes along. The DLC for Dragonborn and Dawnguard are $20 each and Hearthfire is $5.

For that price you could just buy the Legendary Edition.

Cause without knowing exactly which quests and items she might have from the DLC I don't think you can safely load up a save in vanilla.

Sorry I can't be much more help, I know these were super cheap during the summer sales. I'd recommend (again, if you use it) going on Steam and putting them on your wishlist so you get a notice if they go on sale. You might also be able to find something like a reddit thread or site where people would sell these cheap and "gift" them to you on Steam.

u/OriginalPopsy · 1 pointr/skyrim

Etsy have some beautiful gaming prints. I can understand a non gaming wife not wanting an obvious gaming print on the wall. Have you had any luck finding him a gift? If you are still stuck you could take a punt on a Skyrim game guide and hope he hasn't already got it, or have a look at this:
I thought it sounded like a nice thing to have on the book shelf. It's a complilation of all of the little books that you find in Skyrim. You should definitely get youself that print.

Many people are wondering if they still can buy the original edition of Skyrim on Steam. For obvious reasons, when you search for Skyrim, the Steam search engine directs people who want to buy the game to the special edition and hides the original version.

Even The Elder Scrolls official web-site no longer mentions the original edition, for them only the special one exists.

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Legendary Edition and The Elder Scrolls Anthology have also disappeared from Steam; these two can be found on online stores though.

So here is where you can buy the original edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on Steam.

If you like to buy it boxed (with a map included), you can still find it on online stores

Share, please!

Thank you!

It's a bit expensive, but you can definitely set up a controller for couch playing, assuming your PC can be hooked up to your television.

Microsoft Xbox 360 Wireless Controller for Windows

Since you said you have a PS3 I assume that means you don't already own a 360 controller, but if you do then you can buy this and save a ton of money.

Skyrim comes with native Xbox 360 controller support, as was explained in one of the demos. Todd Howard said that he was using a 360 controller, but that he was playing on PC.

u/ang9999999999 · 127 pointsr/skyrim

Best Buy is having a sale on this boxed set FOR ONLY 15 BUCKS!

For this cheap you can get a great gift for someone who dosent already have it or if you yourself have been wanting to play skyrim.

I bought this last year and have put about 1200 hours into all the games of you add them up. In this boxed set you get all 5 of the elder scrolls game INCLUDING their dlc. the only elder scrolls game you dont get is elder scrolls online.

Skyrim requires a steam account and comes with a code which will add morrowwind, oblivion, and skyrim to your steam account. All the games can be installed with the included disk and all the games except skyrim can be run without steam. (morrowind and oblivion can be run with or without steam, skyrim can also be installed with the disc but you cant play it unless you activate the code on your steam account.)

Only for PC.

Oh and you also get matching maps for each game.

edit It appears to have sold out? Good news though you can get it on amazon and walmart for 20 bucks still.

u/Ferethis · 2 pointsr/skyrim

$20 for the Legendary version on Amazon. One of the best entertainment per dollar values I have ever seen. Unless that $20 means you will miss a meal, I would highly recommend it.

u/gmoneygangster3 · 8 pointsr/skyrim

hello there friend

graphics wont look bad if your tv is good happy adventuring

u/phantom-scribbler · 2 pointsr/skyrim

I highly recommend the [two](The Infernal City: An Elder Scrolls Novel [books](Lord of Souls: An Elder Scrolls Novel to which he is referring. They take place right in between TES IV and IV and range all over Tamriel and Oblivion. It's about all I could have hoped for from a TES novel.

Also, you find out a possible origin for the Sleeping Tree in Skyrim.

u/sthgrau · 2 pointsr/skyrim

Thanks to /u/Drew-fish I can say the best deal appears to be through Amazon:

u/Bambikins · 2 pointsr/skyrim

Assuming that it's the exact same poster that comes with the Skyrim Legendary Edition Guide, the poster likely isn't worth much unfortunately..

Good find nevertheless though! It's fun to find items like that.

u/RenaissanceGentleman · 7 pointsr/skyrim

You're probably looking at about half a stick of butter in that photo. I used half of this recipe (except I used honey instead of maple syrup, as it was a traditional Viking sweetener) to make two, so that should give you a good idea.

However, you don't need to use that recipe! If you're looking to make something that resembles a sweetroll, find your favorite (healthy?) muffin recipe, bake it in this thing, and top it off with a frosting or icing of your choice.

u/Blackthorn13 · 1 pointr/skyrim

There's some that are $25ish bucks here. You can also sign up for whats called Amazon Prime, it's free and it gives you free shipping for some items

u/Dragonisser · 1 pointr/skyrim

Lore books. Quite interesting.

Also recommend this one here. Seems like the big book version cant be buyed anymore:

u/UberNerd41025 · 3 pointsr/skyrim

Right now The Elder Scrolls Anthology is $20 on Amazon, so if you don't have the other games and don't mind waiting for it to ship you can get a really good deal, and as a bonus you get maps for each game. If you have the other games already you could also go with the Legendary Edition for $15, though you don't get the kick-ass maps with it.

u/zanep0 · 0 pointsr/skyrim

There we go. get a guide and look up how to be a perfect character. read skyrim lore and learn all vanilla game glitches. have you played oblivion?

Might be a little more on the expensive side but Amazon sells The Skyrim Library - Volumes I, II & III (Box Set) Fantastic artwork and lots of Elder Scrolls history and lore

u/EternalxHarmony · 1 pointr/skyrim
So if I just went ahead and bought this, then how do I get it on my steam? If you change the platform of the game on amazon there is another choice called, PC online game code. Is it that one? Or just the one labeled, PC. Thanks for the help BTW.

u/cadaverco · 1 pointr/skyrim

I have one of these to use an Xbox 360 controller on PC back from when I first started PC (couldn't stand mouse and keyboard.) but now I actually love mouse and keyboard so I don't use it too often.

u/Unpossible42 · 1 pointr/skyrim

Not sure why people refuse to believe Legendary edition is only around $20. It's been that way for a bit, only certain places are continuing to over-charge.

That's a link to buy it on Amazon, and it ships from Amazon. It's genuine, and I've bought two (one for the wife), AND it's only $15 (that's $5 cheaper than the one I bought for my wife, and $10 cheaper than the one I got for myself a few months earlier than the last). If you buy some other stuff to make your cart total $35+, the shipping is free.

Doesn't get much better than that.

If you don't want to buy from Amazon, then buy from somewhere that takes PayPal, as PayPal will refund your money if you don't get it or if it's a pirate copy.

(FYI, this is the DVD disc, plus obviously Steam so you can also DL it [after registration] if you, uh, like very slow installs. They also sell a direct DL link, PS3 and XBox360 versions, all cheaper than retail stores)

u/KevTheObserver · 3 pointsr/skyrim

All the in-game books but, sadly, minus the books included in the DLCs.

Link here for anyone interested, it's really a gorgeous box set for a decent enough price.

u/Aragorn527 · 1 pointr/skyrim

They aren't based on novels like the Witcher. That said, there's a new lore series that I'm in love with.

Here's the first book link:
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - The Skyrim Library, Vol. I: The Histories

u/lastwarning · 1 pointr/skyrim

You can still play with the controller in the PC Version, you just have to get the XBOX Wireless controller connection kit. The game recognizes the controller automatically and adjusts the UI accordingly.

I use it this way on my iMac (Bootcamp) and it works perfectly.

u/BrownNote · 4 pointsr/skyrim

$21 on Amazon US. Don't know how shipping works to outside the US, I know I can order from Amazon UK and have it shipped here though.

Also, 21GBP on Amazon UK. Maybe compare shipping and see which is a better deal?

u/yodadamanadamwan · 1 pointr/skyrim

You can currently get it from this seller on amazon who has very good feedback and is about $7 off the lowest price ever. Or here's a good place to track prices. You're welcome

u/shaydra · 7 pointsr/skyrim

Yes! I read the first book they came out with ( and it was great to read something from the Elder Scrolls series that I could hold. I wish they would come out with one for their Lore. I would buy the fuck out of it.

u/cthomas1489 · 2 pointsr/skyrim

Last time I was at Target they had the Elder Scrolls Anthology for $39.99. I bought it for $29.99 on black Friday or whatever, but it's usually $49.99 I think. Anyway, includes everything from 1 - 5 and is a physical copy which I prefer.

Edit: Well Amazon has a few left in stock at even cheaper. Amazon Link It's not a bad buy to get all of them for PC.

u/ZeldaZealot · 4 pointsr/skyrim

There is one.

A second book is being written right now. Honestly, it's okay. Not an amazing book, but a nice way to get your Elder Scrolls fix before Skyrim comes out.

u/kensdiscounteggs · 7 pointsr/skyrim

There is a second book as well, Lord of Souls. I really enjoyed both of them.

u/TheWoodenMan · 1 pointr/skyrim

Amazon £29.92 =(£27.89 + £2.03 (for guaranteed release day delivery))
Amazon haven't confirmed if they will be doing the map guaranteed.

(most other online retailers were £29.99, delivery = 3 to 5 working days anyway, so they're looking like the best.)

Steam, £34.99 = Download in advance - Switch on @ Release day, no map.

Gamestation (and most other high st retailers) = Pre-order, then go collect in-store £34.99, map included.

Take your pick ;) I'm going with Amazon.

u/bigj231 · 3 pointsr/skyrim

The whole anthology is on Amazon for $20. That's everything for skyrim, plus the older games too. It says "out of stock" though, so you'll get it within a few weeks after you order it.

EDIT: if that's too rich for your blood, you don't want to wait quite that long, and you just want skyrim, the legendary edition is $14:

u/StargateGuy · 2 pointsr/skyrim

> The only way you can buy it is from Steam.

You can buy a boxed copy too though Skyrim uses Steamworks so you'll still need to be logged into Steam at least once to play. And you can mod with either the retail or Steam versions.

Steam Workshop and Nexus Mods will work, even both together. But for stability sake, stick with one or the other. Preferably the Nexus for the better manager and manual mod updates.

u/leenponyd42 · 2 pointsr/skyrim

Your best bet for finding the adapter sold separate is probably online.

my local Best Buy sells the adapter with a 360 Black Wireless for Windows controller in the PC Gamepad and Mouse section, but it is $59.99 for the pack.

u/veterejf · 1 pointr/skyrim

$20 at amazon. Free shipping with Prime.

The Elder Scrolls Anthology by Bethesda Softworks

u/kylegetsspam · 1 pointr/skyrim

Xbox controllers are indeed plug-and-play. Windows will recognize them and auto-download the drivers.

However, to play wirelessly you'll still need a wireless USB adapter like so:

u/Fullskee707 · 1 pointr/skyrim

Yes you can..

xbox 360

xbox 1 is the sole exception since prices seemingly raised upon release of SSE - still not even $60

u/imonupboat · 1 pointr/skyrim

Amazon is selling it at about 40% off list price in the US. Amazon UK has a page for it, but it currently says unavailable. May be worth keeping an eye on it in case they get around to putting up some information.

u/PsychedelicPill · 2 pointsr/skyrim

They have art in them too, a good reason to buy even if you already have an ebook version.

u/unique-name-9035768 · 2 pointsr/skyrim

It was just on sale on Steam last month so probably not any time soon. Also, if you can find it, the Elder Scrolls Anthology is usually cheaper and includes Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion and Skyrim with most of not all of the expansions.

Also, check Wal-Mart locally since they have a good price on the Anthology too

u/Thief-Noctis · 2 pointsr/skyrim

Daaaamn. I just saw the collection of all 3 on Amazon UK and I had no idea I wanted these until now. Didn't realise they had illustrations too, that makes them so much more worthwhile than just copy and pastes of the in-game texts. Same applies to the ESO set.

u/NappingPlant · 1 pointr/skyrim

Every pre-order except for Steam will receive the synthetic burlap map of Skyrim. As far as where to get it, check with local game stores or place a pre-order on Amazon with release date delivery. I believe it is a bit cheaper on Amazon as well.

u/_Dialtone · 26 pointsr/skyrim

If you like physical books, you can get the Skyrim Library. There are three volumes, and they have all the in-game books inside them, along with pictures and drawings and such.

u/levelboy14 · 1 pointr/skyrim

Wait! The Elder Scrolls Anthology is on sale on amazon. It has all of the Elder Scrolls games plus DLC!

u/Janus80 · 4 pointsr/skyrim

It may be worth your time to wait for the Elder Scrolls Anthology to go on sale again. Picked it up for $20 and it has GOTY versions of all games and supposedly compatible versions of Arena and Daggerfall.

u/I_Am_Bad_At_Names2 · 6 pointsr/skyrim

Let me see if I can find the link on amazon

Edit: here ya go! The Elder Scrolls: The Official Cookbook

u/omfgcow · 3 pointsr/skyrim

Off the top of my head, I know you need this . Also Vista/7 have the drivers by default.

u/Neo_Player · 88 pointsr/skyrim

Top comment hijack. It's cheaper at, at £21.21. The game is Steamworks so you'll get it in Steam too.

u/dumb_ants · 4 pointsr/skyrim

I found Skyrim with all the other elder scroll games on amazon for less than $40, including dlc. The later ones had steam codes too.

u/slaps26 · 5 pointsr/skyrim

Just ordered the elder scrolls anthology from amazon. It comes with all 5 games and there expansions for 30 bucks

u/Yabanjin · 2 pointsr/skyrim

You can get the PS3 version from here.

It's through a third party vendor (Games Oasis). It says "sold in the US on 11/11/11", but no guarantee of the delivery date. I need the PC version,though...

u/marshallu2018 · 1 pointr/skyrim

Here it is on amazon for $20, but it's out of stock right now. You might be able to get it at Target, which is where I got it last summer for $15, or maybe Walmart.

u/bubbameister33 · 2 pointsr/skyrim

I don't know if you live in the US or not but they still have them on their site.

u/d_kism · 4 pointsr/skyrim

These novels cover a few key points from the last 200 years: Lord of Souls and The Infernal City.
I haven't actually read them so please don't ask for a TL;DR.

u/ybtlamlliw · 2 pointsr/skyrim

Actually, I think it's the game guide, not the art book.

This is its listing on Amazon. I could've swore there was an art book; I remember seeing one when I was at B&N a couple weeks ago.

u/nikknox · 12 pointsr/skyrim

The Elder Scrolls: The Official Cookbook if you get it and start cooking you should post too!

u/SdenPDB · 21 pointsr/skyrim

For anyone looking for them. You can find the others in related items.

u/Orgalorgg · 1 pointr/skyrim

I switched from xbox to PC and it's so much better. You can transfer your saves by using a thumb drive and Modio. Plug in an xbox 360 dongle to your pc, and you wouldn't even know the difference... except for the whole mod thing.

u/Lugonn · 2 pointsr/skyrim

60 euros?

Amazon has it for almost half that much.

u/neurobry · 1 pointr/skyrim

I bought mine from 28 pounds is 43 AUD. It'll cost you an extra 10 pounds or so to get it shipped, but maybe when it's released you can buy it with a digital download, or ship it to someone in the UK who will give you the steam code.

u/Tang_Un · 1 pointr/skyrim

It's already the case if you look in the right places.

u/Dessicration · 4 pointsr/skyrim

If the dlc are full price I would say wait for the anthology to come out.

u/perona13 · 1 pointr/skyrim

It's also currently on sale for $50 on Amazon

u/Uile · 3 pointsr/skyrim

If anyone wants the link to the actual hard cover guide, and not just the ebook one. The hard cover from amazon is actually cheaper.

u/ofNoImportance · 1 pointr/skyrim

Check out the Amazon page description. If you swap between Hard and Paper back editions, the description changes slightly.

u/nostalgicBadger · 9 pointsr/skyrim

I totally get that, which is why I bought one of these and hooked my gaming machine up to my tv. Problem solved.

u/starien · 2 pointsr/skyrim

Oh shit, it's back in stock. orders one post-haste $23.99 on Amazon for the hardcover, retail is $39.99

u/PipGirl · 0 pointsr/skyrim

Sorry, it's 50 cents more expensive. I'd say Amazon is your best bet here. It won't be on sale in normal stores for a while, and i haven't found any cheaper. There was one a while ago that had it for $46 or something, but they sold out. Sorry i can't help more. I know the pain of Aussie prices.

u/vsiahuahua · 60 pointsr/skyrim

I paid around 100 AUD for the complete set.

Not sure if the link gonna work, but it’s called Skyrim library volume 1-3. Purchasing them separately will cost you more but each will have distinct cover if I didn’t remember wrong.

u/DrakonLitshed · 1 pointr/skyrim

As long as you have the game on steam the steam workshop will work. I don't trust any key selling sights because everything is about making money and i don't see how websites make any money reselling steam keys at the same or lower prices so there has to be some kind of scam going on. Here is the Legendary Edition on Amazon, im surprised it's $40 i guess demand has gone up because it's harder to get now. Or for $5 more you can get it from steam, Here is the hidden steam page. Not sure what these prices translate to for canada. Someone else will have to help you with key selling sites if this is too much.

u/N0T_at-w0rk · 1 pointr/skyrim

I know it's a little late, but wtf.

I just bought this guide and it says it comes with a code for an interactive map. It arrives tomorrow, so I haven't tried it out.
