Any micro USB cable should work for charging and data transfer. They won't all work for "rapid charging", though most will.

This one works for rapid charge:

I noticed when I switched to my Anker PowerLine cable that the charger and cable stopped getting so hot when charging. Even though I'm still using the same Samsung Fast Charger.

But no, you don't need a Samsung cable. I can vouch for this one working well with my OEM Samsung charger block-thing.

If you need a wall charger block then get something that can put out at least 2 amps. If it puts out more, like 2.4, that's fine too.

If this doesnt work, nothing will

Get a good quality Anker power cable.

A dual band Stratux is running close to the limit of a microUSB connector and any weakness in the power system will cause problems.

I use a 10 foot cable with a good quality cigar lighter with a single high power jack with no issues.

Requires a cord to work for windows. I can include one that works well for 2$, this one

Seconded. Anker makes some great cables (either braided kevlar or rubber exterior) and all the ones I have bought through the years still have solid connectors that stay put when inserted. Aukey was my backup when I couldn't find the Anker cable I wanted in terms of length or price, but I have had good success with them as well.

Personally these Anker PowerLine cables are my favorite.

Same thing happened to me last month. After months, the default cable was too bent and I had to put it in a really weird position to charge it and it would fast charge only a third of the time. You can't just use any cable either, as you need one that's able to fast charge with the default adapter.

I got this Anker cable from Amazon (looks like it's even on sale right now, it was about $8 when I bought it two weeks ago) and it's great. It charges fast, is super durable and doesn't tangle.
