I have no experience with this product, but have seen people testing it (there's even a Linus Tech Tips video on it):

Innovation Cooling Graphite Thermal Pad.

Note that it is electrically conductive, so I'm not sure I'd recommend it. You'd be better off replacing the stock thermal paste by something high-quality (with my reference Vega 64 I've had good results with the Cooler Master Master Gel Maker: about 2-3 degrees less on the core, but clocks are higher and more stable so I guess the hotspot temperature must be lower too).

Regarding thermal pads for the VRM and memory (i.e., NOT the GPU+HBM die), anything thick enough and with 6 W/mK conductivity or higher should do. Arctic pads with 1.5 mm thickness worked fine for me.

Anyway, it's not rocket science. Just be careful not to break any PCB connectors (fan and LEDs) when disassembling the card, and if your die is unmolded such as the OP's, be extra-careful when cleaning the old paste from the surface--it's better to leave any material in-between the dies intact. Also, if your card has the small Philips screws and not Torx ones, a Philips #000 screwdriver will only damage the screws; just use a regular-size Philips screwdriver.

Friend of mine replaced thermal pads on his Pro and used 1,5mm thick pads. I'm going to use the same when i replace them on my Pro

this is what i used

yeah i used an external monitor but the laptop lid was open. I have never tried playing on the laptop screen its too small for me lol i have bad eyes. your fans are turning on to keep the surface temps of your laptop cool. its controlled by the intel process.

if your goal is too keep the fans from turning on during low usage, this mod will actually make your fans turn on more due to the surface temps raising. you could always apply the thermal pad mod and turn off intel dptf but i dont think its worth it if your only problem is your fans turning on. I see this mod as a last resort to VRM overheating.

this is strictly for dispersing heat from the VRM and chokes to the chassis to prevent VRM overheat during 100% GPU usage which will require a lot of fan use.

Because I knew I was in for a lot of trial and error, I bought one of the 145x145x1mm and one of the 145x145x1.5mm for a total of $33. But you'll end up using less than half of each so you can buy smaller sizes if you can find them.

Also, there are many types : with fans or just heatsinks. Are both fine?

Do you know if they're sold in multiple pieces or just one? And does it have to be the size of the laptop or can it be smaller and still work?
